  1. Thank you for that comparison @[member=NumLock21] And that makes sense. I didn't know that Gigabyte has only recently made gaming motherboards. And the software offerings I can see adding to the price as well, but I think the Gigabyte is still the best for me.
  2. So, I originally was going to get 2x 8GB Kingston's for my Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5 motherboard. I went to check Gigabyte's compatibility list and noticed that what they have listed doesnt exactly match my HX426C15FBK2/16 model number, instead it lists HX426C15FBK4/16 and HX426C15FBK4/32. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter? Also, is there any benefit in running 4x4GB over just 2x8GB? Oh and any suggestions on memory selection for this build would be very helpful! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LC67Lk
  3. That I could I understand, but both boards say Gigabyte x16x8x4 and Asus x16x8
  4. I was starting to suspect that was the case. It's been awhile since I last built a PC lol
  5. So, I'm looking at two different boards; the GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170MX (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz170mxgaming5) and the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII GENE (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-maximusviiigene) why is there such a difference prices? They seem to be similar, so what am I missing here? I probably will go with the Gigabyte, since it seems to meet my needs, but I can't help but wonder if I'm missing out on something. Plus, is there any mATX boards for Skylake? These two seem to be the only ones for now. Thanks for any help! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NVRZYJ is the build
  6. EVGA is a better route to go then? It was honestly my first decision.
  7. I should mention, I'm going with one card at first, then SLI when I have the money saved. My goal is to play games at mostly max settings on a 3440x1440 screen. I've never watered cooled before, but decided I may need it for the environment I'll be operating in sometimes. So I went with AiOs, but I honestly don't know what I'm doing when it comes to watercooling.
  8. Oh I might switch to that. I was thinking about going to EVGA, but went to to Corsair after watching one of Linus's videos. I just don't have enough experience to know whats the best route. Okay, that's good enough for me. I'm not going any lower than 850w.
  9. I this is what most people have been saying, but I can't seem to get the reason why 850w if 750w is okay? This is something I'm afraid of, but someone suggested that they can be oriented to fit. the 240mm will fit for sure.
  10. I kinda was hoping to the Skylake route to future-proof, so I haven't even looked at the x99 stuff at all. Though, I can still look into it if there really is huge benefit. I haven't bult in a while, and I'm using a Sandy Bridge laptop, so I kinda wanted to start over on Skylake. And good catch on the wifi. I accidentally left it there from the other motherboard I've been looking at; the Gigabyte z170mx.
  11. I've been doing a lot of reading, and I still can't decide if a 750w PSU is enough for this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nGrTyc PC Part picker says it's using about 686w, so I thought 750w would be correct, but after reading around a bit, peole say that more headroom is needed. It's only a $20 bump in price, but I don't want to get way more than I actually need. Thanks for any help!
  12. Sorry for the delay! Sure, this is roughly what the final build will look like http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Dtqcpg Still bouncing back and forth between the Asus Maximus VIII and the Gigabyte Z170MX.
  13. So, I really want to use this case for a mATX build I'm working on. All of my research says that this case will fix the Cooler Master Nepton 240M radiator and the two Hybrids with their 120mm radiators. But what I can't seem to tell is if the tubing will reach to the right compartment? As I typed this I realized I could just put the 240 in the right and the Hybrids in the left compartment, but guess I'm still curious if anyone has tried to do this.Or if for some reason two 120 radiotrs won't fit next to each other? Thanks for any help!
