  • Biography
I'm Sondre, a metal worker from Norway.
I got into pc's around 3 years ago building computers for friends, liquid cooling and modding.
I haven't showed off a lot of my build, but trying to get into some serious modding.
Most of my free time goes to gaming, researching and going over my own computer again and again.
I'm quite picky when it comes to my computer and never stop tweaking either the looks, overclocking or simply tweaking.

  1. Update #3. Custom sleeving. I just finished up my extensions, not with cable combs just yet, they haven't arrived yet. Huge thanks to Icemodz.eu for the tools, wire and everything! Now for the actual sleeving. Note there will be cable combs on them once they arrive! I know, I screwed up on the end back there. But it won't be showing, so screw it The 24-pin extension cable will be curved, I saw that in another build and thought it looked amazing with cable combes. Also, I will be getting spray paint soon, so I will be updating the actual build as soon as possible! And again, if anyone have any advice on my photography that would be great. I don't have the best camera (Canon EOS 100D) and not the best lens for these kinds of photos. I can't take any super up-close and sexy pictures. And I don't have a tripod/stand to get the perfect still pictures.. Still I hope their adequate and watchable!
  2. Wll this might take a little longer than I expected, I ran out of both spray paint, acrylic, and covering tape. I will be updating shortly with a few test setup pictures. But the modding will have to wait a few days. Stay tuned, I will try and update with what I got at least.
  3. I think this thing has just gone mental, showing 4.2GHz with Aida64, 4.5GHz with ROG Realbench, 4.7GHz when idle. And just to top it off, Task Manager shows 4.6GHz at idle....
  4. It's across all cores. Edit: With Aida64: With ROG Realbench: When idle:
  5. The temps are staying cool at 45-50 degrees. I have tried several benchamarking tools now, ROG Realbench, Aida64 and Unigine Valley
  6. Well that helped so it actually uses 4.7GHz, but when stresstesting/benchmarking it going down to 4.5GHz
  7. Hello! Does anyone know whats going on with my overclock? I've never overclocked on a Gigabyte MB before, or on the Z170 chipset for that matter. I have overclocked to 4.7GHz on my Intel 6700k, but for some reason, it's never utilizing the full potential when benchmarking/stress testing. It stays at 4.5GHz even tho I've overclocked it to 4.7. I've also changed the voltage to 1.35v, but it stays at 1.28 at the most. Anyone know what going on? Or have a Gigabyte MB overclock guide, that would be great.
  8. Update #2: The Teardown. Just started taking some components apart for painting, I will finish this up tomorrow and hopefully start painting before long! About as far I'm gonna go on the case for now, unless I suddenly change my mind and start cutting. Kitty break! We all need it at one point.. First paint job on the SSDs will be white for the background, then paint the X white and keep the writing metallic. The RAM will be painted the same as the SSDs Any ideas as to what I can do about this ugly thing? I was thinking about covering it up, but fear it will heat up.. Any suggestions would be nice! Done for today, will be back tomorrow with a new update!
  9. Update #1: First shipment arrived! Got the first batch of parts arrived. Which is fortunate because this batch is the main modding parts. Everything here except CPU (And RAM which I forgot to place in the first picture), wiring and some fans I'm still waiting for. This seems a bit excessive packaging? Not exactly new, it's from an old build I did. Not sure if I will use this or mod one myself. We'll see how it looks after some modding!
  10. Hahahahahaha, I KNEW this comment was coming, I had to look twice to make sure I didn't just scramble something weird myself.
  11. I'm not, that build was White Death, I got a build log for it here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/461137-white-death-caselabs-sth10-build/ It will be a step down, but I don't need that massive of a computer anymore. And I would like to focus more on the modding part instead of the crazy monster pc part. So my STH10 build is now sold, so I bought parts for this build instead. Will upload the first batch of updates as soon as I have resized them. That 2mb size limit is annoying!
  12. Hello everyone! I'm now beginning my new build, something... Don't have a name yet, if you got any suggestions feel free to share! I'm really stuck on this! This will be the successor to White Death. My CaseLabs STH10 build I just finished and sold. It's only been a day, but hey! Modders got to mod! Build log for White Death can be found here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/461137-white-death-caselabs-sth10-build/ This build will be a red and white build, nothing will be left unmodded! I will not be watercooling anything yet, but maybe in the future. For now I'll focus on the modding. This build will pretty much be my tryout as a genuine modder. I will try my best on this and (hopefully) continue modding for many years to come. Specs for this build: Case: NZXT 440 White edition Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k GPU(s): MSI 980 ti Gaming RAM: HyperX Predator DDR4 2800MHz Storage: 1x 240GB HyperX Predator M.2 + 2x 480GB HyperX Savage Power Supply: Corsair RM850 Fans: Not decided yet. Custom sleeved wiring: Extensions or straight from PSU And probably a ton of custom cut acrylic and other stuff. Will list updates here. I'm open to suggestions along the way, not 100% sure what I'm gonna do with some of the components. But together we will get there! And I'm not that great at photography, so if you have any advice for me there, I'm open for it! Build Log: Update #1: First shipment is here! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/466728-projekt-nonameyet-successor-to-white-death/?p=6262593 Update #2: The Teardown! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/466728-projekt-nonameyet-successor-to-white-death/?p=6263254 Update #3 Sleeving! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/466728-projekt-nonameyet-successor-to-white-death/?p=6305499
  13. Hello! I'm starting my first mod build soon. This first build will be my personal workhorse. It will be all red and white and I will mod everything single thing in the build. Majority of the components except CPU, RAM, sleeving/wiring and some fans which will come soon: Yes, I know, out of focus.. I'm not exactly the best photographer and I got no extra lighting. This will mostly be a test run for me for taking pictures when modding while building my personal computer. This might sound weird. But what I need some help with is coming up with a good modder name and build name. I will create a build log here on the forum and on my Facebook page (Once I stumble upon a good name..) There I will also ask for input for the build. I haven't gotten to the point where I need suggestion concerning the build yet. But if I find a good name I want to implement that into the build as well somehow.
