  1. No , the one I'm thinking of has lyrics. Thanks though!
  2. I remembered the old song the other day and I've been trying to look it up. I think it was the outro song from years ago, with satellites and vocals talking about tech stuff. Anyone remember the name?
  3. Thanks, I'll look at reinstalling the cpu this week. Still hoping someone on here knows the dump files well enough to take a look and help isolate the issue from the report.
  4. Report attached but it passed three full sets of memtest 86 with no failures. Debating a full clean install but it didn't help last time. MemTest86-Report-20200321-151400.html
  5. Good day, I've been having a problem for months and it has finally driving me to seek help since my troubleshooting skills have been exhausted. I've been getting BSOD, and while I think it's due to system memory or cpu load I'm not sure. I did increase the page file size to 1.5 times my ram (4X4 GB corsair vengeance pro blue) recently to no noticeable effect. Desktop I've been holding off upgrading the cpu/motherboard and the GPU until another generation or so, but if it's a problem with one of those I guess I'll pony up the money. I just need to know where the problem lies. Thanks in advance for the help!
  6. so youre saying buy a new mobo, upgrade cpu and ram, what about the cooling? would this same problem persist with my 212 evo? could it just be my 212 is showing its age and a new one would work or do I need to go AIO even with the new mobo/gear?
  7. Was running metro and almost caught a screen cap of it stuttering and the temp screen, two cores were at 92 deg. Edit : after recovery started hardware monitor right away and one core was at 96. Before it crashed again. Going to let it cool, but I'd say I've found the culprit. Now the question is would ordering some new thermal compound work, do I order a aio or other cooler, or do I pay a lot to upgrade the mobo, ram, CPU and eventually GPU? Kind of wanted to wait one more generation
  8. Hello, I've had a bunch of problems lately, from two of my CPU's fans failing (original hyper x 212 evo fan and an arctic pwm one I bought as a replacement) to issues with my ram (not registering if not plugged in a specific order, even though its two sets of vengeance pro blue 1600 mhc (ver 1.51 and 1.8X I believe) The latest issue seems to be my cpu overheating even with the cooler master fan I just replaced on the 212's tower in a pull config (Ram is too big to allow push ). It's even a Cooler Master DC fan that's running at high RPM all the time so it should be sufficient. Should I try to redo the thermal paste? I'm running at 4790k with a 970 Strix on an ASUS Z97 A, and I'm thinking the cpu temp might be the reason it's crashing lately while multitasking to playing games. (occasional BSOD, mostly a stutter and crash) It's reaching 66 degrees while only running a game and some tabs in a browser, hard to tell while gaming. A. Are there any utilities that track not only current temp but record max temp so that I can look at a report and see if this is the cause? I've used hardware monitor but it doesn't seem to log temps. B. I've been thinking about trying to overclock, but with this issue I'm not sure if my cooling is sufficient. Any recommendations on a better cooling setup if required? Apparently hyperx 212 evo should be more than sufficient to run a small OC on a 4790k. I've been debating upgrading my MOBO for ddr4 ram and a better cpu, but It doesn't seem like there's any huge jump if all I'm trying to do is play games. Thanks in advance, P.S. Obviously the fan was bought as it was cheap to test, not to RGB match with the RAM. Edit 1. Build was in 2016, I believe CPU heat sink was taken apart once my a tech to clean it after a spill, nothing other than that.
  9. CPU (4790K) 4.38 GHz 1.209 V (no OC, should I look at OC?) Max 75 (Gaming and watching youtube (Assassin's creed origins benchmark run) GPU (Strix 970) 1114 MHz (default clock) 1253 MHz BoostShould I OC? Max 68 (Same as above)

  11. No Free geek nearby unfortunately, in Halifax. For the DDR3, should I work at getting the same kind, or whatever (maybe higher clock?) DDR3 I can?
  12. So below is my current rig, and I've noticed some issues with multitasking (Games and more) and memory usage lately. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to buy another 8gb of the same DDR3 Ram, upgrade to 16GB of DDR4, or if there's another recommendation someone has. As well, what site is the go to for pc parts now that NCIX is down, Newegg? 13. I have just moved into a new house. and my desk and PC are now downstairs. I am looking to be able to connect my Toshiba 47L7200 via Wireless HDMI to my PC, so I can use it in my bedroom to connect to my gaming PC. Are there any suggestions as to a keyboard setup, WiFi or bluetooth (class 1?) , that will be able to go through drywall to a range of approx 30'. If there are any ideas for a better way to run this setup please let me know. http://www.ncix.com/detail/microsoft-wireless-display-adapter-w-hdmi-ac-110112.htm Edit: Not intended for gaming, just for internet browsing and multimedia
  14. Both the headset and the Keyboard look wicked, and I need a new set of each. Good luck all!
