  1. Thanks for the feedback. What games do you recommend for someone like me jumping into VR for the first time? I love Fallout and was thing Fallout 4 VR. Any experience with that specific game?
  2. I have the Acer predator 27" IPS the xb271hu. Bought it back when it first came out for $700. Now it's $600 I believe. Its g synch 165hz 1440p. I have a 1080ti and it's perfect. I'm actually looking to perhaps sell it to get 4k g synch but that's a bit of stretch. I was also intrigued with the new IPS HDR displays coming out with 1000 peak brightness, but they are around $2000 lol.
  3. Just wanted an opinion from you guys. I have the chance to purchase a new Samsung Odyssey WMR for $375 right now. Normal retail is $499. Given that price, is it one of the best VR options? I'm looking to get started in VR for gaming but fear the WMR headsets and their compatibility with steam VR. In a perfect world I would just get the Vive pro but I don't have light boxes or controllers so that HMD and bundle would set me back $1100 which I'm not willing to spend. I have a 1080ti so I know I can push the pixels. Is the Samsung Odyssey still one of the best VR experiences or does the WMR platform ruin the experience? Im sold on the hardware of the Odyssey and definitely the price, but am totally unsure of the software support for gaming. Should I wait until this Holiday season for perhaps a new Vive bundle? Will a possible new Vive bundle be worth it then?maybe Just looking for advice here.
  4. I'm thinking about switching to air cooling on it. If I'm going to game/stream though, perhaps invest in another AIO?
  5. My h110i cooler for my 5820k is now 3yrs old. Should I look to swap that out? I always get nervous about it running out of water at some point. It hits 60°C max during long gaming sessions, I haven't pushed it with transcoding or anything before though. Does that seem normal?
  6. Currently I have this for my gaming PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2Y3btg Basically 5820k, 16gb ddr4 ram, 1080ti EVGA hybrid (AIO watercooled) My question is: will I need a separate streaming PC if I want to game and stream on twitch simultaneously at 1080p 60fps? I want a perfect experience for both myself and my viewers but I havent set anything up yet. I also want a webcam with OBS running as well. Can my rig do all of this or would a separate streaming PC be more ideal? If I were to do that I would move my 5820k to the streaming PC and get a more gaming centric unlocked gaming CPU for my gaming build. I'm ok with spending the money but only if it's necessary as I would rather spend that money on Vive Pro if I don't need an additional streaming PC, so I need some guidance here.
  7. Ok. I will try that. I think I am going to just do a clean install of windows to clear up everything as well though, I haven't done it in a couple years. I definitely could get rid of some things and could use a fresh start with my over clocking and software programs too. Good thing I don't have anything on this thing, only use it for gaming. Thanks for the help with bios settings. I think reinstalling windows should fix all my issues as well, right? Since the keyboard and mouse work just fine in bios. I probably won't clear CMOS unless I still have issues after windows clean install. That's correct methodology in my situation right?
  8. I just don't know if I want to still use software now that windows has the ability to screw things up like this. So I may just setup a fan control on my bios settings after I re wire my fans, not using the included fan hub in my case. Just some extra work I didn't plan on, but probably more of a reliable way to go anyways.
  9. I was using the AI Suite 3 from Asus as I have the x99 sabertooth tuf motherboard but after windows last update the software is useless. Still waiting on a fix from Asus. So I believe that is the problem. Thanks for the heads up. I'm thinking of doing a clean install if windows just for good measure and then uninstalling that specific update to see if AI Suite will work for me once again. I also may stop using the phanteks fan hub and switch to separate fan plugs in my motherboard, thoughts in that?
  10. I have not tried safe mode yet, but now with the keyboard and mouse working with the bios changes I should be able to do that. How would that help though?
  11. I just installed my new EVGA 1080ti FTW Hybrid and it is my first AIO water cooled GPU. I plan on getting the VivePro when it releases so I wanted something that can stay cool through long tough GPU demanding VR sessions. I sold my 980ti lightning from MSI which was air cooled with a beast cooler but now I had an extra fan in my rig with the AIO attached to my new GPU. I put this fan as an exhaust in the rear of the case as per EVGA recommendation. I had the previous exhaust fan plugged into my fan hub controller of my Phanteks enthoo evolve temp glass but now that fan has been replaced. I thought this may affect my fan speeds, but upon reboot, FAN SPEED WAS NORMAL. HOWEVER, after installing new software from EVGA and MSI then a reboot, my case fans now have ramped up to over 2300 rpms and my CPU is below 30°. The fans of my AIO cooler for my CPU are normal as well as the fans of my GPU and GPU AIO fan. So it's just the case fans that are ramped up. I even tried altering the bios fan curve and uninstalled the software of MSI and EVGA but the fans are still stuck at high rpms! I noticed my software for my motherboard has rendered useless after the windows security updates and Asus has said on their website that there are no work arounds as of yet. So how do I get these fans back down, is it because I unplugged a fan from the fan hub controller, I just don't get it. Right now I shouldn't have any software affecting fan speeds, just the bios but I have bios settings on a low speed until 40° but they remain high somehow? Any ideas?
  12. Ok I will go to their website and get my drivers there. What a mess. I'm a console gamer at heart... Obviously. Wish I knew this stuff more. Shoot, I'm happy I can at least put together my PC in the first place. I'm proud of my setup but dang, I feel like an idiot when it comes to troubleshooting. I've spent so much on it lol and I freak out. I should probably get my windows product key in case I need to totally restart from scratch. How do I go about that? Would I be able to do this without putting OS on flash USB drive due to it already being in my SSD? Or should I try a Windows repair?
  13. Is this an app that I can download on my Note 8? This would be handy for future reference...
  14. Ok so I messed with some of the USB settings in the bios and managed to get the mouse and keyboard to work. Logged in, went to device manager, found the USB controlled that was missing a driver update (the one I uninstalled most likely), updated the driver, rebooted the PC and reverted to originally bios USB settings but then it doesn't work again. What am I missing here.....
