  1. But where do you put the jacks? Add them to electrical outlets?
  2. So my current setup for my wifi in my house is an RT-N66U as the router and covering about half my house in wifi and then a Ubiquiti AC Lite covering the other half of the house with the same SSID but on a different channel. This works quite well (although the range on the Ubiquiti 5ghz is suprisingly poor) except that the ubiquiti is connected to the router via a power line adapter that only pushes around 30-40 Mbps which is disappointing considering I have 100 Mbps Internet and get the full speed on my N66U. I think the issue lies with my electrical system not the power line adapter so I'd like to run an Ethernet cable under my house from the router to the access point. Getting the cable under my house is easy, but what I'm not clear on is how to terminate the cable as a wall jack in the other room. Do I need to hire an electrician to do that part or is that really easy? Would an electrician cost a lot for this job or is it quick?
  3. which one do you have? I haven't heard of this option
  4. As a long time LTT viewer I'm definitely aware of Phantom Glass, but at $35 their screen protectors are a bit pricey than I'd like. On Amazon there are loads of $6-$7 glass screen protectors with 4 stars, but I'm curious what screen protectors you guys use and if there really are good glass screen protectors for cheap.
  5. Well that's like saying the communism is only the system Lenin set up in 1917 Russia. We could become fascist, nothing prevents that.
  6. The problem is that if you tell them then that have to mark it as hazardous which could be more expensive or not allowed at all.
  7. So the advantage of that is then you're never asked what it's in it? If something went wrong wouldn't I still be responsible?
  8. Does it cost anything to have UPS pick it up?
  9. So I need to send an iPhone 5 (I'm in the US) and I'm not clear if USPS allows the shipments of phones, whenever I've shipped something through USPS they always have me sign something saying there are no batteries or phones in the package and yet I've received phones and laptops and battery banks through USPS and only once did one have a hazard sticker on it. The information on their website and Google is unclear and contradictory. What has your experience been? To be clear I need to ship to via USPS because there are no fedex or UPS stores nearby.
  10. Yeah, at this point android wear is a better platform, but I was overall still disappointed, glad to hear you liked it though!
  11. Haha, well TBH I'm not really sold on smartwatches in general, I got mine on super discount so it was worth it. As far as I know, the Apple Watch can use Apple Pay and and has things like Instagram and Twitter on the watch. Now I believe those good things are offset by the first gen issues, but in scope and in the future it's a much more useful product.
  12. Unpopular opinion here, but I switched to android a year ago after being an iOS user and I'm switching back now. All my friends also have iOS and I never really found a good replacement for iMessage and in the end resulted in less time talking to me friends. Also android wear is really pretty boring, I have a Moto 360 and while it looks nice and supplies notifications beyond that and music controls it doesn't do anything else. (Never tried an Apple Watch though) Feel free to disagree anyone, just stating my experience.
  13. If you wrote the article you aren't allowed to post it.
  14. I'm on an iPhone 5 latest version of iOS and it doesn't work, when selecting the searched text in the clock app there is no share button....
  15. So you're telling me every child says "ok mom/dad it's ok for you to take my thing"? Where is the consent?
  16. Look, I'm not saying parents shouldn't take things away from kids, my parents did and it's totally appropriate in a lot of circumstances. But withholding something is stealing, legally. I don't think parents should get in trouble for it though. Parental rules aren't laws and they aren't made by elected officials or by common vote, just the person who happens to be your parent.
  17. Well actually they can be compared , minors can own property just like adults and really teachers probably can't take stuff away either, no one is ever going to arrest a parent or teacher for taking away your phone for a day. But can you show me a law that parents co-owner everyone along with their child? This was covered on the WAN show a few weeks ago by John (who has a law degree)
  18. Well legally that's just not true, if I bought my friend a phone and I have no right to steal that phone six months later and the same is true for kids. If the phone is on a contract under the parents name then yeah, the parent owns it. Regardless I do think parents should be able to take things away, that doesn't really make it legal though.
  19. Yeah sure, it's not for me, I have a 5.5 inch phone, but being apple to enter Apple's ecosystem for $225 is a still a big deal imo
  20. I just installed gnome, my two biggest issues so far is that multi tasking is super slow, having to mouse over and pull out the dock or mouse to the corner and then find a window I had open. The other thing is the tweak tool is totally broken, global dark mode straight up doesn't work and the themes I've downloaded only change the status bar and nothing else.
  21. So I just installed Ubuntu Gnome and I'm trying to install a theme and an icon pack. I created a .icons folder and a .themes folder and extracted the files to to those folders, but when I select those themes or icons in the tweak tool nothing changes. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Also enabling system dark theme in tweak tool does nothing, some kind of admin issue?
  22. Dude, it's not about easy peasy, it's just annoying because my install is like 16 months old and I have every program under the sun installed. If I'm actually learning something new I'll work hard to learn it, but just redoing something I already have is a waste of time.
  23. I'm open to learning something new although Zorin looks pretty nice. It doesn't seem very classically Linux though. Maybe the best idea is to dual boot Windows and Linux since I should be able to install Linux alongside my Windows...?
  24. So I'm not a super duper hard core gamer, I play once a week or so. Can I ask what you couldn't get to work that was a deal breaker?
