  1. Great idea. Sorry for the bother, and thank you again.
  2. Ah, okay. Thank you. So, does that mean the height modules would run on the rear channels, or the existing rear speakers would be used by Atmos?
  3. Hello, I've had a Denon AVR-S920W for about six years, which I was using to power a Bose Acoustimass 6 Series V setup. - Denon https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/av-receivers/avr-s920w - Bose https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Acoustimass-Theater-Speaker-System/dp/B00TVFO08S Recently, I got rid of the Bose and now am running Polk 2xXT20 (front), 2x XT15 (rear), and an XT30 (center). - XT20 https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/bookshelf-speakers/monitor-xt20 - XT15 https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/bookshelf-speakers/monitor-xt15 - XT30 https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/center-channel-speakers/monitor-xt30 My question is: If I purchase a pair of XT90 height modules, will I be able to push Atmos through my receiver correctly? It lists Atmos as supported, but again, this is six years old, so I'm wondering if that is still accurate. - XT90 https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/height-modules/monitor-xt90 Thanks in advance.
  4. My wife is looking to source a projector for her lab meetings. We're looking at primarily power point type content, in a well lit, not huge, space. Minimum 1080p with HDMI input. Recommendations? Thank you!
  5. Are these so stealth no-one will talk about them?
  6. I'm sure there is information about this somewhere, but I can't find it. I keep seeing these t-shirts in the vids which I really want. The black on black shirts. Are these upcoming, or were they very limited and I missed them? Thanks
  7. Always used it as USB. My current card (mb) doesn't have optical-in available. Because I've always used the external DAC, I never pay much attention to on board audio these days. The driver thing is likely. Unfortunate, but likely. This issue is driving my batty, as I'm sure you can imagine.
  8. Greetings, Context: Been using an Audioengine D1 (ext DAC) for about four years with zero issue. I pair it with Voicemeeter Banana so I can use VBAN to easily share audio from my second desktop (note: I'm fairly certain this is _not_ a voicemeeter issue). I recently did a fresh install of Windows 11. I've had no problems at all, except... About every five minutes my audio dies. When I go to Voicemeeter to restart the audio engine (which generally will reestablish the device connection), I get one of these (attached images): If I then restart the audio engine again, it comes back fine. I've verified all the bitrate and sampling rate are correct. I've, of course, rebooted, checked for updated drivers, etc. I've also verified that exclusive control is not enabled on the device. All audio "Enhancements" are off. Has anyone else had an issue like this, or seen this error before? And advice would be very much apreciated. Thanks
  9. Alright. Thanks a lot.
  10. It would be replacing my Acer X34 PBMIPHZX (one of five monitors). For reasons I won't bore you with, I need to get away from an ultrawide for my primary, and into a 16:9/10 again. I am a software engineer (worked from home even before covid), and mostly use it for writing code and such, but I also game. I bought the predator as I was exploring high framerate gaming, and discovered that it makes very little difference to me with the games I play most (grand strategy, etc). Therefore I'm looking for something bigger'ish, high ppi, but don't need the pricy features generally attributed to "gaming". I will also not be doing any professional color grading, so that's not a big deal either.
  11. I'm currently looking at the Asus VP32UQ and trying to get some opinions. It's been difficult to find any reviews online (which is a bit of a red flag). If there are other recommendations, I'm looking for a good larger 4K IPS display (60hz is fine for me). Thanks!
  12. I can still see them slightly. I assumed I was primarily experiencing a symptom of the antialiasing process with limited pixel density, which is why I am looking to increase that. I went through windows ClearType tuning stuff on this monitor before posting and was only able to achieve a very slight (if any) improvement.
  13. Mainly just VESA support, as all of them are mounted (added this to the OP). My two primary displays are ultrawide (Acer X34 / LG 34UC80-B), but my side monitors are not (just not enough space). So I'm looking for 16:9/10 primarily. Not sure. I've improved it a tad by messing with the panel sharpness, but for the most part at normal size I can see rgb sub-pixels (slightly, but enough). Also dropping text size down to the scale I'm used to gets almost unreadable. The 1080p monitors are 24" (my previous 1440p were 27") Agreed. I'm really shooting for 27". I included + because if there was a really amazing deal on a slightly bigger one, I likely wouldn't pass it up.
  14. Greetings, I'll be brief I'm a developer Already got my gaming monitors Have five monitors, two of which are just for comms/research (read: text) Had to trade aforementioned two 1440p monitors to my wife in exchange for her 1080p monitors The 1080p is killing my eyes due to unclear text EDIT: Must have VESA support Looking for cheapish 27"+ 1440p monitors where refresh rate and color accuracy are of no concern (within reason). Suggestions? Thanks
  15. First off, I'm not sure this is the correct forum. My apologies if it is not. The facts (long story short): My elderly parents are in Dallas. I am in Salt Lake City at the moment. My parents have Roku on both of their smart TV's I sometimes have YouTube videos I want them to see (which I know they will appreciate). Currently, this involves calling them on the phone, and waiting for them to use the remote to type in a partial title, then have them find the proper video (often requiring I send them a picture of of the thumbnail on whatsapp). Is there any way that I can send a video directly to their YouTube app where it will just play? Somewhat like casting to a local Chromecast? Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks
  16. Same. I noticed in the pop up it does not list advanced access in the OG plan. I really hope this is a bug and they didn’t just remove that for long time supporters.
  17. I'm currently running a 2700X on a ASUS ROG Strix X470-F. I want to swap this out with a 3700X. My understanding is that this board can run a 3700X, just without support for PCI gen4. Is this correct, or should I wait until a new board can be acquired as well? Thanks!
  18. I went ahead and grabbed a Matebook last night. Specifically because it's not the 2019. Current one is on discount, and the new one doesn't have much I need. So far so good.
  19. Do you have one? I'm a bit worried about support. I've heard from a little birdie that if you purchase through MS they will run interference for you on support stuff.
  20. No need for NIC. Primarily always will be on wifi (my desktops are on 10gbit but for a laptop, wifi is fine).
  21. Budget really isn't an issue, although I don't want to be overpaying just because. Max weight would be about 3lb/1.4kg I'd like to get at least six or more hours on normal usage (not videos or gaming). The sRGB matching is not going to be a huge deal, although (ofc) I don't want something completely horrible. Not going to be doing much content authoring on this thing. Obviously the more upgradable the better, but these days you're lucky if you get to replace the storage.
  22. Thanks for the response. The Surface Laptop seems so overpriced for what it offers. Not even Thunderbolt.
  23. I currently have a Dell XPS 15. I chose it because I wanted something with good build quality, and a discreet GPU. I have no issue with the device at all, except the weight. I primarily do server side coding, and need to transfer to a lighter device. My primary concerns are quality of keyboard and 16 gig of ram (as I want to be able to run Linux dist in VM) and 15"ish screen. I am looking for recommendations. Currently I've been exploring: Surface Pro 6 LG Gram ThinkPad X1 Carbon Any advice you have will be appreciated. Thanks
  24. LOL yeah. To be fair, it's intended for mounting radiators on the external surface of your case, which I suppose in a bit more "niche" than how I'm using it. But yeah, chunk of cash for just a piece of metal.
  25. Thanks again. This worked great! (see attachment)
