  1. So memory overclock can hit +1750 with no artifacting... at all... core still maxes at +170
  2. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/11687268/fs/14864441 In perfect scaling, a 970 SLI build can = 1070ti but it has to be perfect scaling. Thre real world is you wont see that kind of scaling in most situations outside of benchmarks. I ran 970 SLI for a good while. Then I upgraded to a 1070 SLI rig. Now I have a single 2080. Going from this transition and as someone who has been a pure SLI fan through my build evolution, you will be much happier with a single 1070ti as it will give you far greater results, and cause far less heat. Plus no scaling issues to worry about. Having said that, used 1080 are going for the same price as 1070ti nearly at this moment. May be even a slightly better edge to try?
  3. lol I'm guessing their work load isn't heavy. Or even moderate. When I'm running lightroom and photoshop together on my Dell XPS 9575 4k which is rated for 8 hours, I can get about 2 hours real world photoshop usage manipulating large files, rendering layers, hand touching using the stylus, or even just using a mouse.
  4. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/alienware-aw3418dw-34-14-ips-led-ultrawide-hd-gsync-monitor-epic-silver/6147408.p?ref=8575135&loc=fcf0c6a6c21611e89be646e4c7109be00INT&acampID=fcf0c6a6c21611e89be646e4c7109be00INT&skuId=6147408 This is a beast monitor for a very reasonable price. The IPS monitor, in my case, had 0 light bleed that was noticeable on a fully black screen. The OC works as expected and there is no flickering issues with my unit at 120hz. Only issue I have had in the last 10 months of owning one is last week gray lines appeared across the entire display showing a capacitor failure. I notified dell, and 3 days later a new unit arrived at my house and I shipped the other back. Their 3 year warranty is phenomenal in this respect. Unless you go with a 4k 144hz $2,000 27" panel. This is the best monitor on the market, in my opinion. This price is the lowest advertised price I've ever seen on this unit!
  5. I'm running a FE2080 and my buds running a gigabyte. Rough first results, mine OC better... I have no issues with noise. and Both cards will cap around 85 C regardless of power limit's maxed out.
  6. It's all been done. reddit.com/r/eGPU I've been running a 1080 Gaming box on a 9575 from dell with a 4k Display. Ran it through the internal display at different resolutions and on external monitor. 1080p - Biggest bottleneck 1440p - Second biggest Bottleneck 4k - Smallest bottleneck. At the end of the day, you see 5%-10% loss in frame rate when playing 4k on eGPU 1080 vs PCI 16x, you see 15-20% loss at 1440p, and a staggering 30% loss at 1080p simply due to the number of frames. Theories aside, this is true for external monitors even though they perform around 5-10% better than feedback to the laptop monitor in ALL instances except 4k. Your results will likely mimic this.
  7. 2050 seems to be the average with 2150 yes peaking.

I don’t ATM. Very rare in captivity and in the wild in general, or at least uncommon. If if you’re after just a black monitor in general, I have a few friends with Black Dragon Water Monitors. Really awesome animals. Paul Lucas aka the retic keeper has a couple. Then vital exotics May have some old stock though kris has moved onto working with bison of all things. People to watch would be importers. Fascination Herp, Joe switalski, Jeramy Hargett, and Paul Miller to name a few
  13. Or an adult with a full time career. I also parted out my 1070 SLI to generate funds to grab a second later on if I feel it’s needed. Anyone can afford anything if they want it bad enough. Savings, working extra hours, side hustle, etc. same logic I give folks who say they can’t travel due to cost.
  14. Sure. Once I get some spare time later this week. May have a little bit this evening I can attempt. I saw reddit threads on folks getting higher boosts at lower voltages by altering the curves so it was on the radar.
  15. Saw plenty of 1070ti selling for for around 75 USD more than the 1070 equiv models.
  16. Interested in what people are getting. Model: 2080 Founders Make: Nvidia Base OC: 1850, 14000 Stable OC: +170 Core, +1020 Memory, Power @ 124%, Voltage slider 100 This was done manually by trial and error. Using scanner software it alerted me that my stable was 132 on Core. With boost right now my core reaches 2150 stable, with memory holding at 15020
  17. Just sold my Strix Gaming 1070 for 240... 300 is overpriced for the current market IMO
  18. 1070 prices sunk. Sucked to sell my strix cards for what I could. 1080 prices are so-so - better than a few months back, moderately OK compared to even a month ago seeing used cards as low as 370 1080ti prices - holding firm thanks to matching the 2080, some models increased in price (strix, HOF lightning edition, etc)
  19. How so? it's trading SLI what ifs for single card solution is if it performs at 100% all the time plus the ability to go back to SLI and get even better performance. To each their own. Just giving an example out there for folks to reference.
  20. Give it 1 month time. We wont talk about Ray-tracing though... as that will simply destroy a systems performance.
  21. not when DLSS is considered. Also a 1080ti Strix, was the exact same cost new as my 2080 reference finding the best deal on both at 719.00
  22. So I wanted to get away from SLI to cool down my system a bit. Maybe prepare for a water loop again and clean things up. Bring on the new RTX cards, no benchmarks aside, I pre-ordered the 2080ti knowing it would still be the highest end card on the market. . . fast forward to benchmarks and the dollar to frame ratio was simply insane, so I went ahead and returned my 2080ti and picked up a reference 2080 for a fraction of the cost thanks to a birthday discount at best buy. My current rig was a SLI 1070 Strix edition setup, paired with a water cooled AIO 8700k @ 5ghz at 1.4V. I have had no issues with SLI scaling by in large, but again wanted to cool things down and try a single card solution. So what did I find? It's a side grade. I knew it would be since 1070 SLI goes head to head and beats out 1080ti's on certain tests. The 2080 performed similar to a 1080ti so this should be the same. In shadows of the tomb raider benchmark, fully maxed out at 1440p, the 2080 eeks past the 1070 SLI despite near perfect SLI scaling Makes me happy, since I know this is what most newer games will compare to. Going to synthetic benches, we see a slightly different story. Oddly enough, the new drivers reduced my typical ultra score by around 500 points as my system would typically be above 8k. . . but this was tit for tat with current drivers at current system settings. SLI rig destroys the 2080 Time Spy, again 1070 SLI comes out dominating the competition. The score in the background was the non-official benchmark pre-release. My score became much closer. More realistic to what we saw in tomb raider, but still showing synthetic benchmarks giving perfect SLI scaling. All in all I am happy with my results, and will go ahead and SLI NVI-Link 2080's in the very near future once i sell my 1070's to cover the second card. The single card performance is beautiful, and the system is extremely quiet under load. The fans never get past 2100 RPM, which keeps things quiet and cool-ish holding the temps around 81 C during intensive gaming. Seems to be the common temperature among all the reviews that's been posted. As far as overclock goes. . . I was successful after some tinkering of hitting +170 on Core, +320 on memory. This was a manual overclock as scanner has not yet been released? (that I've found) Love or hate RTX. even the 2080 is an insane card.
