  1. thanks for the giveaway ! Would really love to have a polaris card... would make a great upgrade from my old hd 4000 series ati card from amd...
  2. I am looking to purchase a case that is budget friendly and can support m-Atx motherboards can someone give me some suggestions in the sub-70 dollar range ??
  3. When testing post always use onboard video as it allows you to verify whether that is working and allows for less error as you could otherwise be confused by a potentially faulty video card.. Newer motherboards show post codes so this really should't matter much beyond checking if video outputs are functioning.
  4. How much vram does your onboard graphics have ?? Could probably lead to frame skips if it gets maxed out temporarily ??
  5. Not really a theory it did happen in mine are there any game optimizations you have made in geforce experience ?
  6. Doesn't the ares III need to be hooked up to a custom liquid cooling setup ?
  7. Are you going to game on it ??
  8. The GTX 1080s coming out tomorrow (Assuming you live in the USA) and the founder's edition costs 699 and gives excellent performance for the price which is around 60 dollars more than the used titan X you mentioned and is apt for gaming at 1440p and even 4k to a certain extent. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard that framerates above a certain monitors refreshrate can cause tearing and artifacts so if thats true you're better off buying the 1070 when it comes out if you're gaming at 1080p and still want an amazing card. Alternatively 1080p on a high refresh rate monitor or one that supports g-sync is a great combination with the 1080 card..
  9. Maybe try turning off AA ?? It could cause some glitches in mine( I own a 650ti slightly older version of the 750ti) and even 2XAA would crap my games and cause wierd frame effects, lag and well some glitches... Not to mention that it almost halved my framerate.. And the game looked worse. actually worse Game: Need for speed most wanted (2012) running at 1824 by 1026 (coz my monitor happens to be an old tv) All settings but msaa maxxed out..
  10. Apart from the fact that its better if there is some additional vram left over,is there any other reason more vram helps ??
  11. Have you tried DSR ? If so can you tell me if it offers any tangible benefits ??
  12. Unless you're playing AAA titles at max settings at 1440p there is no way the 970's 4GB VRAM (3.5) is going to be fully utilized. Most 1080p games don't need more than 2 gigs (some exceptions may be there) and for 768p unless you are planning to upgrade your monitor in the near future there is very little reason to invest in a 970. A 950,750ti. even a 650ti will more than cut it even on a 1080p monitor. I use a 650ti for gaming and I max out most of my games at around 40-50 fps sometimes 60 (I don't play many AAA titles) . DSR could be a good reason to buy a 970 though I am not very knowledgeable about it so can't say anything more.
  13. Try checking if the graphics are overheating ? The motherboard could be throttling them and that could cause a dip in performance.. As for your question on cheap dedicated graphics cards I myself tried a Gt 610 for a while and the experience was very similar to my onboard graphics so I would suggest saving up for a better card. Bear in mind that my intergrated graphics were based off an Intel platform (i3 530 and gigabyte h55m) so your mileage may vary...
