  2. Interesting, most people go with a case that has a side panel window when doing a loop.
  3. Poor implementation? It goes lower than any other FreeSync monitor, the rest only go to 40Hz. Sure it'd be nice if it had the full range (35-144), but if the choice is between what LG did (48-X) or this (35-90) then I'd take this any day of the week. I mean you'll more often be at sub 48 fps than you'll be at over 90 fps. And if you get more fps than that just turn up VSR (or just add the resolution via registry), turn up a few settings, and make the game look better since XSync will make it smoother at low fps. Or you could use an FPS limiting factor in an overclocking tool (Precision X, Afterburner, etc) and make your pc run quieter.
  4. Have you considered that you might have less issues if you didn't buy a platform that's 3-4 years old, most likely second hand? Buying second hand parts is a great way to save money and get a better value, it's not however the best way to have a stable system in the long term without quite a few headaches and many hours of trouble shooting.
  5. @Random32 have you considered that if you've had problems with all aspects of your system that the motherboard is faulty? Seems rather likely with A/V distortion and graphics card instability.

Anyone wanna buy a GTX 780 Lightning for $270 s…

Lays why not just stick with the 780 for now now and wait for a month or two to see the R9 390X and possibly the 980 ti?
  7. I think we won't see another deal like this before a major holiday to be honest. And even then it'll probably be a drive not much more popular than this one.
  8. You think $99.99 will become common place for 480GB SSDs within the next few months?
  9. The PNY CS2111 480GB SSD is on sale for only $100, and it includes 8GB of RAM, according to the newegg promo newsletter. Currently the actual page says the cost is $179.99 and the ram bundled with it is only 4GB. So we can only wait and hope that Newegg delivers on this deal. According to a poster on SlickDeals Newegg chat told him they couldn't give a definitive answer but to check back on the product page at 7-10AM PST.
  10. If you wanted a fairly cheap 480GB that's not by PNY then you may want to act soon because it'll only be at this price for 24 hours, then it'll probably go back up to the usual price of $179.99 The ARC 100 has fairly solid performance for a great price. No promo code required.
  11. @Overkilled You could easily be classified an enthusiast with a 4690K, although the 4690K itself is not an enthusiast grade part Who's more of an enthusiast A.The guy with the 4690K and a GTX 780 with a custom water cooling loop using PETG tubing. B.The guy with a 4790K and a GTX Titan X who uses the system to play BF4 on low settings. Clearly it's A right? A is much more interested in his build and in getting it to be exactly how he wants it. B does have higher end parts but doesn't even know enough about those parts to change the settings in a game without Geforce Experience doing it for him. @Godlygamer23 Since people have started using car metaphors, you can have THE best car and be some rich boy who wrecks it the first time he drives it without even caring. Having the item doesn't make you an enthusiast. So I guess in the end it depends which question you want us to answer, the one in the title or the one in the post. Yes. vs No, unless you want to get all technical about the segment to which you referring or what you're comparing it to, it is not high end. I WIN, I WIN, I WIN, I WIN.........What did I win exactly?

I may be buying an Acer Predator today

Ah, I just figured that you were buying all these things yourself. I mean you've been swapping parts like mad.

I may be buying an Acer Predator today

Yes....$200 for a warranty(fairly sure Asus doesn't do warranty transfers), an IPS panel, and being new.

Lays bro, just watch this part of the PCPER podcast and you'll understand. Allyn Malventano [PCPER] - "I ended up buying it cuz like at that price I was like hell I'll sell the Swift and I'll just switch to that and I did, and I couldn't be happier, that's good stuff" Allyn Malventano [PCPER] - "I couldn't be happier"

I may be buying an Acer Predator today

Yes, and then he also said that it's still quite a far cry from IPS. It's a great TN panel....but at the end of the day it's still just a TN panel.

I don't know, I think if you have the money for the Predator that you should go for it. Going from a high tier IPS to a TN....

Are you going to be selling the PB278Q then? Or will you keep it? Will be interesting to see how these modern 'AHVA-IPS' panels on the Predator compare to Asus' professional grade 'AH-IPS' panels. I mean usually higher pixel clock comes at the cost of pixel quality, will be interesting to see if you can see the difference in a side by side comparison

The monitor? The Desktop? the Tablet? The Laptop?
  19. Comcast never removed Data Caps in the first place, or at least in most regions they didn't, Data Caps were Suspended indefinitely in most areas. Valve didn't do something right......they corrected an injustice they committed after committing it. It's less like the example Victorious Secret gave and more like if a thief stole something and then out of fear for the consequences of his actions decided to return it. And I'm fairly sure the thief example was meant to be used as a general negative act, not that they were literally stealing. If it makes you feel better then insert any negative act you feel is appropriate.
  20. I love how we chose the same point......
  21. If Valve improved their customer service to "better than Comcast" levels then that'd earn some brownie points with me. I mean at least you can get a response from Comcast customer service within the month, even if the response is a f**k y*u
  22. How is improving the reputation of a man who's in charge of a multi-billion dollar software distribution platform a waste of time? Do you recall how the CEO of Mozilla 'resigned' because of his horrible reputation which was caused in no small part by his stance on gay rights.
  23. @Briggsy Canada got hardcore ripped off. $59.99 for the base edition and $99.99 for the digital deluxe And the base edition is the one that shows up on the home page for me, so either it shows the deluxe on the home page for canada or the prices are super inflated.
