    On a side note, does anyone have any idea which RTX 3080 will be ideal for watercooling? I found a list of cards that are supposed to use the reference PCB desgin, but I don't know if I should go for the cheapest one or if the more expensive models offer better performance (considering the watercooled performance of both options)

    So what you're saying is that since the motherboard lanes have enough bandwidth, a simple switching mechanism in the lane allocation would be enough to manage plenty of PCIe 3.0 devices, such as two GPUs and two NVMe SSDs?

    I never said anything about 4th Gen Ryzen. I was referring to motherboards with PCIe 4.0 support when I said "Gen 4"

    I've seen questions along these lines being asked before but I never really found a clear answer (if there is one please send it to me and I will remove this topic). Let's say that I have a motherboard with PCIe 4.0 support, and a CPU with 20 lanes. Let's also say that I want to use 4 of those lanes for storage devices. I could buy a Gen 4 M.2 SSD that would need all lanes to work at full speed, but could I instead by two Gen 3 SSDs without using more than 4 lanes? I know that 2 Gen 4 lanes have enough bandwidth to support any Gen 3 4X SSD at max speeds, but do the (AMD) Gen 4 motherboards actually allow that kind of connection without interfering with the other 16 lanes that the (AMD) consumer CPUs have? A simple yes or no answer would suffice but any technical explanation would be appreciated as well. I imagine that it's also possible for some motherboard models to have that option while others don't.

    I'm planning on getting the RTX 2080 TI and a waterblock from Phanteks for my next build (still waiting on Zen 2). However, I didn't want to pay the absurd price most of these cards are selling for. The EVGA Black is finally selling for the MSRP of $999, and it looks like that's because it has really shitty thermals. Obviously, that won't be a problem for me since I will be watercooling it, but I was wondering if this low end of the 2080 TI has disadvantages other than thermals (I've heard things about power limit and such). My question is: if I want to install a waterblock on an RTX 2080/2080 TI, am I going to get a satisfactory overclock with any model or are there things I should look out for? Or do you think that maybe this generation of GPUs isn't worth liquid cooling at all?

    So I decided to go for the 1080, but do you guys think that I should pre order the founder's edition (for $700) or wait for custom versions?

    Well I guess that the strix version would be around $700 just like the founders edition, and I was just concerned because nvidia was focusing too much on VR and I'm not using that. But yeah I think I should stick with the 1080

    Ok so I'm in a painfull doubt right now. The asus strix version of the gtx 980 ti (which is one of the best models) is currently being sold for only $580 on newegg, but that offer will end TODAY. I really need to know if I should get this card RIGHT NOW or wait for the 1080. I just bought a 1440p 144hz monitor and I have no plans about VR. Please peole what do you think I should do?

    After reading this article: http://techreport.com/review/28685/geforce-gtx-980-ti-cards-compared i conclued that asus stix is the best, but then i noticed they didn't cover zotac amp! Extreme, a very well known card for its power. What brings me here, to hear your opinion

    @Deli So you think that for 1440p it would make more sense to buy a 390X?

    Yeah, i know that comparing with the r9 fury x makes more sense, but i've seen that many people like the 390X and if it gets the job nicely done, i would appreciate saving 250 bucks haha

    I want to know wich is the best gpu for their prices and also wich one performs better in an UW-QHD monitor (3440×1440) and in a 4K monitor for gaming on ultra settings.

    According to a linus video, the r9 295x2 has two gpus, each of them with 4gb of memory. And no matter how many gpus you have, the ammount of memory will be the same. But if you are saying it performs better then a titan x, I'm going for it. Also I've seen you've got 2 980ti, what do you say about one? A thousand bucks is a gpu would probably be too much for me...

    randeon r9 295x2 actually has only 4gb of dedicated memory. wouldn`t a titan x be better as they have the same price?

    DarkBlade2117 I`ve heard that the 390x is the same thing as the 290x. I also don`t know what would be better, NVidia or amd. And why do u think I should drop to a 4th generation processor and ddr3 memory? I`m newbie in these questions haha

    I was searching for UW-QHD curved monitors, and i can't decide between LG 34UC97 and Dell U3415W. I also heard that the Acer xr341ck is better for gaming, and that's what i'm planning to do. So, wich one should i go for?
