  1. I see, sorry for misunderstanding you. Right, to answer your question about why I post this. Ever since the 353.xx and up, every nVIDIA Driver was a disaster, they fix one bug here, then introduce other bugs there, so we nVIDIA owners are desperately dying to get a new driver that works, hence, every new driver or hotfix driver is very crucial at this stage until those nVIDIA muppets get their act straight. Gone are the days where you would just install the latest nVIDIA Driver and expect everything to work.
  2. You don't want them, don't install them. Let us enjoy the hotfix drivers as they are urgent updates to the buggy nVIDIA Drivers!

  6. well 8 seconds is a good improvement. Bear in mind that it will never boot as fast as a normal SATA SSD due to the time it takes for the PCIe controller initialization in the motherboard. From the tests I've seen in online benchmarks, the Intel 750 PCIe SSD is the slowest of them all in boot time. The Samsung SM951 I think was the fastest.
  7. Before the update: BIOS = 10 seconds just to show the ASUS splash screen because I have 64GB of RAM and it takes time to perform tests and memory training From Windows Splash Screen Logo to Desktop = 15 seconds (like a freakin' HDD not an SSD) Total = 25 seconds After the update: BIOS = 10 seconds From Windows Splash screen logo to desktop = 8 seconds Total = 18 seconds
  8. I just said, down from 15 seconds after BIOS POST from the rotating Windows Loading icon to the desktop to 8 seconds, that's 7 seconds faster. Benchmarks are the same, they were already fast but something fishy was going on that made the boot time so slow. finally it's been fixed after many months of waiting.
  9. FIXED Today finally! Just updated the firmware and boot time went down from 15 seconds from the moment I see the Windows Loading icon to 8 seconds!! Instructions to update the firmware using the Intel Data Center Toolbox. After installing the Intel SSD Data Center Toolbox: You need to go to the folder where you installed isdct, by default it will be c:\isdct Then follow the pictures to open an admin command prompt. When you then have the admin command prompt open and in C:\isdtc> you just need to input the correct command to flash it. This is the command to list the Intel SSD's connected to your system: isdct show -intelssd To update the firmware of an eligible SSD type: isdct load -intelssd 0 Updating the SSD with controller index "0" replace "0" with the eligible number shown with the "-list" command previously that should have shown that an update is available. Reboot once the firmware update has been done.
  10. I personally use NOD32 Antivirus after having had tried them all as it is the only AV which doesn't conflict with other apps on my system, doesn't give me a single false positive is one of the lightest security solutions as you can see in the link below of the AV-Comparative Performance tests, and offers superb protection. Have a look at these lists before making a decision: AV-Comparatives Real World Tests AV-Comparatives Performance Test AV-Comparatives False Positives Some of the other Anti-Virus solutions I will never lose, in a quick summary: Emsisoft Anti-Malware: Too many false positives for my liking but it's very light and would be the runner up after NOD32 Antivirus. Avast! AntiVirus: One of the lightest and most effective AVs. I don't use it personally as it conflicts with Office 2013 and has horrible bugs if you have a brief look at their support forums, you will know what I mean. Norton Security: Comes bundled with the Norton Identity Safe/Norton Toolbar for my browser. I don't like security solutions which offer additional bloatware without the possibility of doing a custom installation. Bitdefender AntiVirus/Internet Security = This is not an Anti-Virus anymore, this is an all in-on crapware solution that has a system optimizer, browser cleaner, driver updater, everything you can imagine is there. No thank you. Give me the protection only. Kaspersky Anti-Virus = Great AV, with a low performance impact, but it limits you, three re-installations and your license is blacklisted. I don't use software that limit me on how I use them or limit me on how many times I can format my computer so that's unfortunately not an option for me but if you don't format a lot, it's a good solution. Webroot SecureAnywhere = The lightest AV on the plant spoiled by terrible false positives, ranging from file FPs to website FPs. Your system with be literally unusable with this junk installed on it. F-Secure AntiVirus = Great AV! Highly recommend it, but the AV only not the Internet Security AKA F-Secure SAFE Avira AntiVirus = Was a great AV until they ruined it by now offering a mandatory installation of the Avira Launcher, a very bloated and stupid launcher that again has a system optimizer, etc.
  11. This is becuse defraggler is the worst defragmenter in the planet! piece of garbage! Takes 10 times the time of any other defragmenter to defragment files.
  12. well I just installed it, nothing different. But since it mentions stability improvement, I'm all for it

  14. this worked but there were 2 apps that were stubborn and will never get removed, Photos and Camera. Anyway, so happy I found this to get rid of everything! I never will use any of this metro app garbage. none of them.
  15. I've always wanted to get rid of all the metro apps in Windows 10 but it only allows you to uninstall a few and not all of them. Apps that I never will use like Photos, Maps, Music, Videos, etc. cannot be uninstalled. I have tried several ways through PowerShell before to uninstall them but have never got it to work. Finally, a free portable app came out that actually works. I was able to successfully uninstall every metro app! It's very simple, just right click on 10AppsManager.exe and Run it as an Administrator then select the apps you want to uninstall and click uninstall. Note: It does warn you to create a system restore/backup before fiddling around with it but I never bothered, it works like a charm. Download 10AppsManager
