I dunno what it is about 90s GM grandpa-mobiles like the Oldsmobile 98 and the Buick Park Avenue but I absolutely love them.

Meh, that's buying something genuinely hard to find, like an Isuzu I-Mark or a Geo Storm.

I've only seen one Geo Storm in my entire life.

And it was a classmate's. And I think he wrecked it a week or two later. ?‍♂️

I can name a bunch of random obscure cars I've seen over the years.

I remember seeing an Isuzu Oasis at work and I was more excited seeing that than a fucking Audi R8. Probably because I know I won't see Oasises outside of a junkyard.

Still can't believe they basically named a company "old mobile".  Like, well, I guess everyone has to have a target audience but that's a bit on the head isn't it? lol

Meh, it's a very old name (from what I remember, Oldsmobile was an older brand than Chevrolet and was only beaten by Buick by age) but I guess GM realized that it didn't serve much purpose, so they disappeared by 2004.

Yeah.  I'll never forget their come back ad after the great purge, "there was a time when 7 different brands made sense" no, no there wasn't, you were just very confused and out of touch and don't want to admit it lol

Hell, you can still trim GM down quite a bit. Consolidate GMC into top-trim Chevrolet models and consolidate Buick into a mixture of Chevy and Cadillac.

I'd just like them (and ford and a lot of other brands) to figure out how to use space efficiently.  Last time I had to look at cars in detail, it was clear the american brands were still getting compact interior space numbers out of midsize exterior numbers.

It's CRAZY how much wasted space there is in the Tahoes and Suburbans. Toyota Sequoia? American-built and designed SUV based of the Tundra. Gobs of back row space while having about as much space in the back as a Tahoe with those seats up. Can't say that for a Tahoe.

Hell, the same goes for the Nissan Armada, although it loses out on being kinda wonky as a tow vehicle.

At least Chrysler is good with their space usage in the Durango and the Pacifica. Hell, they're still the king of minivans because of how neatly they did the Pacifica (transmission aside, anyways).

The only way to find an American car with any sort of roomy interior is to look at crossovers and hatchbacks.

Oh god, no. If I had to buy a crossover, I'd either convince myself that a Buick Regal TourX isn't a bad idea, the Chrysler Voyager/Pacifica is worth it or ultimately wind up in a Honda Pilot.

My mom had a rental 2019 Malibu and that shit felt cramped with five grown ass adults in the car. Her SS, while not especially spacious, fit everyone a lot better than the Malibu did and especially better than how my dad's old Charger did.

The Fusion is super cramped compared to my Celica. That's 20 years! difference between the two models. That is terrible. On the other hand, the Chevy Bolt is pretty roomy considering it's a foot shorter and about the same height as the Fusion.
