  1. Super surprised it can be played from so close. I knew the new Sony's could do that but they are pricey $$$$
  2. So attached below are 3 images of my monitor. I recently moved and I created 2 areas with small surface scratches / cracks. I cant tell what they are, they don't clean off, they have a tiny bit of texture when I move my finger over them. Any ideas on how to fix? Is the only way to get a new screen? Does Dell sell that type of thing? Any info on what t his looks like would be great, I don't think the panel is cracked because the colors are fine, it just looks like a scuff or crack to the actual screen.
  3. So way back in the day In the Vista days I would use sleep and hibernate and screensaver's and they always took forever, and it was way too much a pain to deal with. So I swore off them and I have never even read up on them since. I usually even disable the hibernation sys file to save some storage. SO! now I moved to a new house and the electric bill is crazy high so instead of keeping my computer on all the time I want to figure out which is best. What do you guys use? and drawbacks?
  4. Wow! I literally check this afternoon at about 11 PST. Glad to see it in stock
  5. What I want is a 4k, 21:9 aspect ratio, OLED, 144hz monitor. But we all know that isn't going to happen anytime soon. So for the meantime I am stuck with BenQ XR3501 Acer x34 Predator ASUS PG348Q And they are all always out of stock... I found one benq, on a sketchy Chinese website. Are they really that popular or is there another reason they are never in stock? The only other option is the Acer XR341CK bmijpphz but it only comes with 75hz with overclock and Free sync. Any suggestions on what to do as someone who wants a 1440p, Ultrawide with a high refresh rate?
  6. Any updates on this? I am really hoping to get one of these ASAP.
  7. If that is the case is there anyway to tell? It is my first time doing liquid cooling but I read the instructions and took my time. It seemed very solid when I put it on. I am guessing not PSU (only because it worked yesterday with old build and its overkill for current setup). Also is there anyway to rig up a post speaker? My old mobo had one built in so I don't have anything to plug in Edit:: I "fixed" it but if anyone could tell me how that would be awesome. So I removed all but 1 ram stick, still same boot cycle, then I removed all external plugins except 1 display port, it reboot cycled once and then I saw the "Press Del to enter Bios" splash screen, and then boot. So I plugged in my keyboard and mashed Del and got into bios and took pictures, everything looked fine, temps fine everything fine. So I thought okay lets try and boot again, then it saiid "updating bios please wait" and rebooted about a dozen times. So I turned it off and tried plugging in my mouse to do some stuff in bios. This time however it booted straight to windows? So I plugged all the peripherals back in, and the ram. And everything works? Still need to get some asus drivers but any idea what happened? Edit#2:: So it turns out everything is not okay. I got into windows installed all the drivers etc you should and now my computer is running extremely slow..im talking 1-2 fps while you right click to open the windows properties menu slow. Any idea what this could be? Driver conflicts? I use to be on a AMD system.
  8. So I just got a bunch of new parts, intel 6700k, asus z170-a Motherboard, 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram, and a Corsair H105 All in one liquid cooler. So last night I had all the parts except the ram, so I put everything together, today I got the ram and put it in and tried to turn it on and, it almost? worked... So It turns on, everything starts going I can hear the pump in the H105 working and it stays spinning but does not display anything for about 20 seconds. Then it reboots rather than turning off. I have had computers with reboot cycles and I have had computers that turn off very quickly or almost immediately after turning them on. But never with such an odd delay. What should my steps be to fix this? I get the Mem OK light on the motherboard if that helps.
  9. So I have a desktop and a MBP and the MBP hard drive started crapping out on me. So since I cannot get it to boot I decided I would just take it out, put it in my PC and extract the files I needed. So I have it plugged in to my windows machine and disk manager is reading it. Seen below, but I cannot read the files. This makes sense because it is OSX format. So I tried googling what to do and almost everyone on the web said to use a program called HFS+, so I got it and installed it but even that says "No HFS+ File Systems Detected". Any ideas on what I could do next? p.s. Sorry for the large image size, screenshots from 4k
  10. I decided to go with the Gigabyte GTX 960, it has 3x display port, 1x hdmi, and 2x DVI. I will plug 2 of the DVI directly in and then I got 2x ACTIVE display port to DVI adapters so hopefully everything runs smoothly. I can post back if any is interested. A little over my price point but I think it will work.
  11. will nvidia 600 + run into the same issue as amd does with more then 2 legacy connections? because technically unless I am thinking about this wrong I would have to get active adapters for the remaining two ports?
  12. Oh sorry for not explaining this part, this is a productivity computer for real estate, nothing graphically demanding at all just spreadsheets, word, web pages, etc.
  13. So I have been looking for a long time now and I have asked on Reddit with no luck so I figured I would ask here. I am looking for a mid range GPU ($120-$170) that will be able to display 4 dvi monitors. The monitors only have DVI inputs so I am running into a lot of problems. I know a little bit about the "Legacy" vs "Active" ports and it seems like I can only have 2x Legacy on AMD so I am not sure if I should go nvidia or if I just don't know what I am doing. I can get some adapters if need be I would rather not have a big converter box though if I could. Any ideas?
