  1. What was the model for the standing desk legs? Wanted to know if it was sturdy as well?
  2. I am looking for a webcam, ideally with a good microphone so that I don't have to get two separate devices. A regular HD video stream is more than fine, it is the microphone that I care more about. I'm not looking to stream content, just to video call with clients and friends. I am currently using the Microsoft HD Lifecam 5001 and it does the trick for video but the microphone does not pick up my voice very well. If possible I'd like one that can also filter out background noise a touch (I have a mechanical keyboard that is quite loud over call during video games or just chatting with friends). I currently use RTX voice to help with that issue and it works to an extent but I feel like a better microphone array would be ideal. I've tried to search online but I can't seem to find evaluations of webcams based on their audio performance. Perhaps this is because there isn't much of a difference but I am still curious. My desk space is kind of cramped so I ideally don't want to get a separate microphone (maybe in the future when I get a bigger place) or deal with getting an arm to attach to the desk Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
  3. I live in Canada. My budget is ideally sub 2 grand before tax but I can go up to 2.5 at most. I don't need anything light like a Macbook air but ideally 4 or less pounds. And I'd like to be able to use a shit ton (pardon my French) of tabs and office products + bash for 8 ish hours of that's even possible. As for dGPU, it's not a priority but I'd like a lower end one so I can use hardware acceleration or play simple games like league or fortnite. I don't want a 1080 or 1070 because they use up a lot of power. And I think I'll be using my current laptop as a gaming desktop for the foreseeable future if I wanna hardcore game.
  4. Once I started uni I never had a chance to sit down and game so that's not a real priority for me. What do you think about the 13 vs 14
  5. So I have been using the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 4k for the last 3.5 years or so and have decided that I need a new laptop. I bought it as I thought I would be doing a lot of gaming in I found the laptop only lasting 2-3 hours at most at a time without battery over time. I found it is very bulky to carry this and the moderately sized charger that it comes with. So this time around I'm looking for a less powerful laptop (however I intend on having an 8th gen i7 and 16gb as the minimum spec). So far I have been looking at the Huawei Matebook x pro, the LG gram, the Dell XPS 13, or the Dell XPS 15. Right now I am very partial to the Matebook. If you have these laptops or have any suggestions (i heard thinkpads maybe great too). Looking forward to what you all think!
  6. I've been using the logitech g602 for the last 3 years and have been enjoying it greatly, however it just hasn't been working well as of late (single clicks register as double). I feel like it's time to get a new mouse and the mx devices look ideal because of their Bluetooth capabilities as I use both my tablet and laptop often. I am a software engineering student so productivity is my main focus, with some light gaming ofc. However the anywhere is really appealing to me because of it's size and I find myself always moving between work, school and home. I can't seem to find any stores where I can try them out but if the mx master is anything like the size of my current mouse then I'll probably be able to use it just fine (i have smaller hands). They are only 10$ apart on amazon right now so i was wondering if any of you ave experience with both or have any input and suggestions. THanks!
  7. Thanks man that's just the information I was looking for
  8. Hey Guys, I have a razer black widow 2013 (the non led ones). I know for a fact that this is still the keyboard that still uses cherry mx mechanical keys (think maybe blues). But I was wondering if it is possible to replace the keycaps of this keyboard with custom ones that i can buy online. It's not necessarily going to be all the keys, maybe just the WASD, Esc, and windows key. I'm just wondering because I know razer likes to have their stuff proprietary. If it is possible to replace the keys let me know if it's all keys, or just some. Also is there a specific brand/make of custom key caps that I need to buy for this keyboard or can it be any keycap that supports cherry MX? Thanks in advance, Kev
  9. Is there a big difference between the 4720HQ and the 5700 because I can't find any benchmarks that say otherwise but I dont know about the feature difference but the clevo does look very nice. Any heat problems or coil whine from the fans on the thin clevo's? I know the aorus sounds like a blowdryer but its really powerful so just wondering about this.
  10. So I am a university student that is looking to get a laptop that I can bring around with me for my day to day work while also letting me sit down and game at the highest settings that I can whenever I got free time. I'm looking for the powerful laptop that I can bring around with some ease (don't wanna bring a brick from home to campuses to the library on buses). My budget is around 4,500$ CAD before tax so there is a lot of wiggle room with what laptop I can get. You can suggest other laptops but I'd like some explanation on why they would be better. Looks arn't a big factor Here are the 2 choices that I have been looking at: http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-gs70-stealth-pro-i7-b0-109521-1066.htm#CustomerReviewsThe MSI laptop is slightly more powerful than the razer blade with a tremendously larger amount of storage, however there have been a lot of thermal complaints about it according to Linus himself so I don't know, can anyone else confirm or is it only when I'm playing games for a long time at high settings/resolution. http://www.razerzone.com/ca-en/store/razer-bladeThe razer blade is almost as powerful as the msi laptop but it also has a 3k ish display and a touch screen which are big bonuses however the limited amount of storage is what irks me as I use this over time. Some other choices I found were these beasts though I don't know if they will be a pain to carry around or if they are just what I need. http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-gt72-dominator-pro-i7-2b-109505-1892.htm http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-rog-laptop-g751jy-db73x-core-a6-110211-1891.htm Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated. I may look at the new skylake laptops but I am not sure if they will be out when I start june late august / early september
