  1. Haha that it was. I wanted to fit the left most fan on the right hand side but didn't have the room. But it seems to be doing a decent job regardless! Ah yeah they look really nice, I'm not too bothered about the coloured connectors they should have just kept them black but oh well! Edited first post with specs And thanks for all the kind words everyone, I really couldn't have done it without this website and Linus' tutorials.
  2. Nice, I tink I could push it to 4.6 but I'm not going to bother Nice to see similar figures!
  3. So I completed my PC build the other day, I had no idea what to expect when I finally got around to turning it on for the first time, just praying that nothing would melt. It didn't help that my brother said he could smell "burning" as I fired it up. In any case, nothing happened I had to update the BIOS using USB flash back, the red LED indicating "no boot device" eventually disappeared and then finally, everything came on! Anyway, she's not the prettiest thing in the world but I've always been one who's valued performance over looks. Found it very daunting at first, but thanks to Linus and this community, everything is now working exceptionally well. So thanks again! Specs: CPU - i5-4690K 3.5GHz (currently overclocked up 4.5GHz @ 1.3 V) CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM MOBO - Asus Z97-PRO(Wi-Fi ac) Memory - Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 SSD - Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" HDD - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB PSU - SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" All wrapped up in a Vengeance C70 case (a new one this time >.<) Oh there's also some Noctua NF-F12 120mm fans in there too (which were a pig to fit on the front panel as the holes weren't big enough but using a screwdriver I widened them enough to fit the rubber screws/gromits in), will eventually get a couple more to replace the remaining stock fans.
  4. Ah excellent then! Thanks a lot guys, appreciate the help. I originally went a bit higher, to 4.7GHZ but it crashed after a while, this seems a lot more stable now. Think I'll just play it safe at this OC! Thanks again!
  5. Hi all Finally have my PC up and running and I've decided to have a go at over clocking my CPU. At stock the i5 4690k runs at 3.5GHz So I've OC'd it to this, 4.5GHz / 1.3 V At 100% CPU load (using fur mark CPU burner) my temps are 63-64 degrees C. I don't really understand much about what's going on, is this acceptable for this CPU? Should I turn it down a notch? As always, your help and advice is much appreciated!
  6. Hi all So I was looking at my power supply unit and they have given me a kettle lead with 2 prongs, but being in England my plug requires 3. Looking at the supplied kettle lead it says 16A 250V~ I went and bought a UK adapter but it's 13A 250V~ Should I go and buy a 16A fuse? I'm using a 650watt PSU. Edit: Thanks Alef, it seems to be doing the trick!
  7. Hmm Ok thanks for the help! Now I've just got to start plugging everything in, this is the first PC I've ever assembled so hopefully I don't blow it all up
  8. Hi guys So I've begun assembling my PC (still waiting on graphics card to arrive) and unfortunately the fan set up I wanted doesn't fit the case. As you can see in the image, I've had to mount the 2nd CPU fan on the left hand side (instead of the right, above/ next to the memory). If I fit it to the right hand side I can't fit the case side panel on. So I don't know what to do. I've added a top fan as an intake in the hopes it will help the 3 exhaust fans I've got going, what do you think I should do? Is the top fan necessary? Should I remove the left CPU fan? Would this be a better setup? (below) or would this take cool air away form the graphics card when I install it? Any advice would be much appreciated!
  9. I know, looking back now this was a bad move but there are still visible scratches. Other marks where the paint has worn off, the logo on the front is all scratched up, upon further investigation I can see the USB ports on the front have been used as they are chewed up a bit on the edges, it's still missing the box of screws and other items, no rubber inlets etc. I've decided to return it, thanks for your help and support guys.
  10. Hi all So after opening up the packaging for the new Corsair C70 Vengeance I received today, I'm a bit unsettled and annoyed in the state it arrived in. The case was pretty dusty after removing the plastic sleeve, there were scuff marks that looked as though a persons boots had rubbed against it. The window has a noticeable scratch in it, some marks won't scrub off, looks like the paint has been worn. I took off the side panel to find some more dust residing inside, it took me a good hour or so to get rid of it all (what I can reach) and get it back to a somewhat new-ish looking state. I didn't receive an instruction manual, there's no brown box full of screws and other things as seen in Linus' video (linked above). This is the first case I've ever bought, is this normal? Do they usually come a bit dusty and marked? I ordered off of Amazon UK, normally they are pretty good but I feel a bit annoyed having spent near £100 on a case and it arrives like this. I feel as though I've been handed one that's been sitting on display for years and someone's kicked it and scuffed it all over. Oh it's also missing the rubber inlet things to reduce vibrations on the top exhaust panel. As I mentioned earlier, I gave it a good clean and it's looking okay'ish now, can still see the scuff marks and a few scratches where the paint has been totally cut into on the front. What would you do? Just keep it or return it? Is it normal for this stuff to happen? Thanks.
  11. My dad has a touch screen camcorder, he asked me to plug it into his large TV so he could show a few of his friends some footage of trains (exciting stuff). After I plugged it in I told him the the TV was now touch screen enabled. Funniest thing I've ever seen was my dad poking this TV for a good 20 seconds then looking confused when it wouldn't work only to turn around and see me rolling on the floor crying with laughter.
  12. Ah I see, well I used this link to purchase them you see https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-case-fan-nfa15pwm As you can see it says it's 140mm and no mention of it being 150mm width. I'll probably just return them then. Thanks for your help!
  13. I've got Mobo: Asus z97 PRO Wi-Fi (ac) CPU: i5 4690k (Overclocked to 4.5 MHz) GPU: Nvidia 980ti I bought 3 of the 140mm fans, wanted 6 in total. I originally was going to buy the 120mm you linked but I wanted them to match my CPU cooler.
  14. Well I have 3 would I be better off returning them and buying the 120mm variant?
  15. Quick question for those who may know the answer. Will the Noctua NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fan work with the Vengeance C70 case? It says it can fit 140mm fans, but on the packaging I've received for this fan it says 140mm fan with 150mm width. Is it too big? Thanks in advance, appreciate any help. (Don't want to to open packaging in case I need to return it)
