for what im wanting to do that would cost well over £3K for licences for any of these software packages

im looking into doing a setup where i have my pc in my rack in my server room and using cat7 hdmi/DP extenders to pipe the video to my monitors in my study i was wondering whats the bast way of doing USB over cat6/7 cable for a mouse/keyoard/webcam and stream deck? want to use Ethernet cable as im planing on running multiple Ethernet runs throughout my house so want it to be easy to move my desk when i want to too another room without having to rip up the walls again to plum in new cable, all i would need to do is some alterations of my patch panel

watching the latest video about the xeon phi got me wondering how would the xeon phi fare doing x264 encoding for a professional stream encoder?

i am looking to get a streaming box for my tv but i cant decide between either the nvidia shield tv or steam link does anybody have any experience with either? also i use a xbox one controller and oculus rift and wonder if either of them will work? I have been using shapDX for the last 2 months for a basic project and with direct x 12 now out i wanted to know what the code differences where between it and direct x 11

i was in my dads office today and found these 2 old pentium 3 processors after asking him i found out these where part of his first multi-core (in the late 1990's and early 2000's most multi core systems used multible cpus instead) computer and the system he used for the start of his business after looking around i found there old motherboard and decided i will rebuild this system just to see if i can so far i have cpu's; 2 pentium 450's @ 450MHz slot 1 mobo: Tyan S1837UANG Thunderbolt (anand review http://www.anandtech.com/show/273) ram: 4 64MB sticks of pc1000 or pc133 ram hard drive: an old ide hard drive i find graphics: old agp or pci gpu power: 2 * 20 pin power supplies no case os: testing i will use ubuntu server 14.04 lts and for final use i will install either windows 2000 or windows xp both cpus are in the motherboard and now onto ram and power! (one of the cpus are missing a fan cable so will have to find that) (sorry cant post image as it got corrupted)
