  1. Thanks for this, looks like the best way to go as of right now.
  2. Is the 970 a substantial upgrade over the 270x? I don't want to be spending so much on overhauling all I have to be stuck with an average performing rig y'know?
  3. Corsair CX750M, if it seems a bit of a high wattage, it's because I originally ran crossfire 270x's but saw no real gain in performance.
  4. I'm currently sitting on a budget of £600 (roughly $860) and I need to make some magic happen. My poor little AMD based PC has always disappointed me no matter what I threw at it. Here are my current specs, just wondering what the best upgrade path would be: AMD FX-8350 R9 270x Gigabyte GA 990FXA-UD3 8GB Corsair Vengeance 120GB Samsung 850 Evo 500GB Hard Disk I'm wondering whether I should hold out until Zen's ultimate release and pair one of those newer CPU's with something like a 390x or an R9 Nano? I'm also very tempted to swap over to the Intel/Nvidia side of things and get myself an i5 with a 980 but it's really pushing my budget to the limit. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  5. I think I played about 20 minutes of BF4 before I realised it wasn't all that fun and didn't feel all that obliged to play since it came free with my GPU. I should probably give it another go but I'm running low on hard drive space lately.
  6. Thanks for the advice, it's much appreciated.
  7. A 390 is looking to be the way to go. I'll have a look into it and maybe get one when they drop in price a little.
  8. http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/how-does-the-ultimate-pc-of-10-years-ago-compare-to-the-best-today--1289479 How's this?
  9. Any more opinions on this?
  10. Ah, my first very own PC was an Athlon 64 3600+ with a GeForce 8400GS all frankensteined together in a little shuttle case. It was given to me by Uncle who's still gives me bits of computers every now and then. The death of it came from the processor sticking to the heatsink. Pulled the heatsink off and the processor came with it, causing the pins to bend and snap all over the place, sad times.
  11. That's what I was thinking. If I buy a 390 now surely it's a bad idea if these new ones are as impressive as they're looking to be so far. But... In the anticipation of the new cards could people be selling better cards cheaper?
  12. I've always hated my R9 270x from the day I got it. Not sure why but it never performed to the standards I was expecting, yet at the time everyone made it out to be fantastic. I've been wanting a new graphics card for a long time, so much that I even bought a 7990 off ebay the other day while I was drunk (I managed to cancel the order). I'm not sure if I should wait for the new line up from AMD to come out before I buy a new one. Should I upgrade my graphics card now and if so what should I go for? I don't particularly mind buying second-hand as sometimes the price/performance just makes sense. Here's some details: I run two 1080p monitors. Do some graphic and web design. Play a lot of games (Rise of the Tomb Raider is my next). Sculpting in ZBrush. I use Maya. I also use Unreal 4 on occasion.
  13. Well the i2769VM's that I have come with display port, they look nice and have a supposed "borderless" display although there is still a bezel it looks nice. I'm no professional with colour adjustments but I can tell that the panels look quite nice for 1080p at 27". Oh and they are wall mountable.
  14. I built my computer a couple years ago and it literally just blew up instantly because of a power surge. As if that wasn't enough, a couple of months later when I'd scrounged enough money together to remake it, it happened again.
  15. I have two AOC i2769Vm 's and they're surprisingly really nice panels for such a low price. I managed to pick both of them up for around $300, one of which being second-hand.
