  1. I’m updating my computer and I had to buy an additional PCIe cable, but comparing those that came with the PSU vs. the new one I can see the first pins(from left to right) are empty vs not empty, as seen in the pic, the individual sleeved cable is the new one, the single sleeve cable is the original, the PSU is a corsair AX860, no the ax860i, is a previous version I think, Is it ok to use this cable? is this different to be worried about? ax860 is platinum https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/psu/cp-9020044-na/ax860-atx-power-supply-860-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu-cp-9020044-na#tab-techspecs and according to legacy compatibility https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/s/legacy-psu-cable-compatibility or I don't know how to read that table...
  2. it does work... https://youtu.be/dtdOKCpz-P8 I have this card and case for the last 3 o 4 months now and I was afraid to connect that cable ?
  3. I have a ROG Strix 1080ti which has these connectors: there is a the red header that is supposed to be use to control RGB led strips, now, my case, that is a Cooler Master Cosmos II C700P, has this cable: that is an rgb input, so the question is, can i connect this cable to my graphics card? it does fit in the header, but, will it work? can i match colors between case and graphics card? my motherboard has no rgb header of any type. pls help

  6. Ho! and if anyone has an asus X-99 and a thunderbolt ex ii.... http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/404336-x-99-deluxeu31-2way-sli-gtx-970-strix-not-working please heeeeelp...
  7. so i just dump my two GTX 970 Strix that i just brought 2 weeks ago? yeahhhh... sure.....
  8. but: buying a new one? naaaaa.... i have already spend enough more that i sould.... and shiping one to México it's not exactly cheap...
  9. is it posible to cut a ribbon-like SLI bridge ?? has anybody try it ?? I have 2 cards in my system, and i have no intention, nor money, not even space to put another one and i haaaaate how that thing looks... dangling around... asus should put more than 1 sli bridge in the box... this is the idea:
  10. ClownFace1511 and the hard part is once I screw up something with the bios, I have to kill the PSU and clear_cmos... and every time I'm risking in killing my not-so-cheap RAM or something else...
  11. ASUSTECHMKT I was reading about SATA Express and, correct me if I'm wrong, but SATA 3.1 uses PCI lanes right? could this cause the conflict? or it is the on-board m.2?
  12. could you share more info about your project? and the bios/thunderboltex config? I'm having troubles with the X-99 and a SLI 2-way of gtx 970: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/404336-x-99-deluxeu31-2way-sli-gtx-970-strix-not-working anything will be greatly thanked!
  13. damn it! so... i put the thunderbolt ex/II between the 2 gtx as follow: PCIEX16_1 -- FIRST GTX 970 PCIEX4_1 -- Nothing and disabled in the bios/uefi (hidden under the gtx) PCIEX16_2 -- ThunderboltEX PCIEX16_3 -- SECOND GTX 970 PCIEX16_4 -- nothing (hidden under the gtx) PCIEX16_5 -- nothing Ho! and didn't change ANYTIHNG in the BIOS/UEFI... and it's working... so... it has to be something with the shared port PCIEX16_5 with thw on.board M.2 OR the 3.1 USB card.... anyway... ** NOTE THIS ** the USB ports, the Ethernet and the iSight in the Apple Thunderbolt Display are NOT working!!! the asus thunderbolt/EX II card it's working as a pass-throw video-only... no data... the speakers in the thunderbolt display are working at least...
