  1. So i had PS4 (with a strikepack) connected to my pc for months without issues. Then since a few days ago, the strikepack stopped working. Tried to fix it following some guids SCP toolkit, DS4windows and steam controller settings to get it back to work. But it only got worse. Now whenever i start Fortnite, the controller shuts off and doesnt work or my PC crashes completly. This also happens with other games on Epic launcher. But for Fifa everything is still working (Fifa is in steam library) Atm i'm trying to just get the controller back to work and not have my PC crash (not using the strikepack). I removed DS4windows, uninstalled drivers with SCP toolkit but all to no avail. I already tried to reinstall Epic launcher and Fortnite but the issue remains. I think it's safe to say it's something with the drivers of the controller, but tried multiple things and dont know what to do anymore. Any help would be highly appreciated, been trying for 2 evenings and getting nowhere Specs: OS: Windows 10 64bit CPU: Intel I5-10600k GPU: MSI Geforce RTX 3060 Gaming Z Trio RAM: Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2x8gb 3200 Motherboard: Asus TUF Z490-Plus gaming PSU: Corsair TX650M 650W
  2. An older couple asked advice for a cheap PC. Basically only using it for browsing/online banking. Their current pc is old (core duo, 2gb ram) Saw a few option. Wanted to hear someone else his opinion, i'm thinking the first or second option 1. Lenovo 379euro AMD Ryzen3 3250U 2.6-3.5 ghz (4cores - 8thread) 1x8gb Ram 2400mhz 2. Lenovo 399euro AMD Ryzen5 3500U 2.1-3.7ghz (4cores - 8thread) 1x8gb Ram 2400mhz 3. Acer 399euro Intel Celeron J4025 2.0-2.9ghz (2cores - 2thread) 2x4gb Ram 2400mhz Between 1 and 2, ryzen 3 and 5, the ryzen 3 seems to be better? and more then enough (the SSD size is 256 and 512, so ill probably advice option 2) Option 3, weaker CPU but 2 ram sticks might make up for it? There was also a cheaper option for 349 but running AMD 3020e which is 1.2-2.6ghz (2core, 2 thread) which seems to slow. They'll prob be using this pc till it breaks or gets to slow again
  3. Sorry forgot to mention maybe, the pump isnt the problem. MSI has been recalling them back cause they made a mistake causing sediment inside the loop. But they then say, if your AOI performance is bad (example 60 degree while idle) I'm trying to figure out if mine is affected, before it gets that bad.
  4. So i'm using an MSI 360rad cooler, which has partly been recalled. They say if you notice bad cooling performance that you need to contact them. And give an example of 60 degree Celcius while idling. Well it's nowhere near that bad. But lately I get the feeling the cooling is having to work harder to keep it cool. I ran a cinebench test, multicore for 10 min. Within like 30 sec the temps are 90-100 degrees on all cores. They stay there for the while test, and after 2-3 minutes i notice CPU speed is slightly dropping. The CPU is not overclocked and turboboost to 4.8, by the end of the test it dropped down to 4.6-4.65. After the test the temps go back down do 45-50 and then slowly drop further down to 35-40. Anyone that can confirm if this is still normal behaviour? Or running similar CPU and can run the same test? Would appreciate it a lot.
  5. Did you build it? There are mainly 2 types of warranty (depending on your location). If it's build by the store (or a prebuild) normally the store gives warranty which you tend to loose if you do changes yourself. Besides that there is factory warranty on the individual parts. Aka, your PC breaks, you need to find out which part, take the part out of the PC and send/rma it to whichever shop/manufacturer it is from. (I also said shop, if you bought your parts separately you should first check with the store, mainly cause it is faster too) What you said about shop being authorized, i assume that means. Imaging the shop is authorized by MSI but not Asus, and the shop warranty ended. Normally you have to RMA it to MSI or Asus. Since the store is authorized by MSI, if you got an MSI card, you can bring it to that shop and i assume they have the 'power' to judge if it's broken and covered by MSI and insta replace it for you instead of waiting a week or 2 for an RMA. That you need to ask the service center, in case it goes wrong this makes a huge difference. Chance of it going wrong is low. I had 1 GPU break over my last 15 years and was out of warrenty anyway. And a friend used a previous card of mine, lasting 6+ years in total and still didnt break. And he even smokes weed And on a sidenote the shop/manufacturer warranty's can be a different length of time. In europe stores are legally obliged to give 2 years. GPU manufacturers usually give 3 i think. And PSU give up the 5-7 years.
  6. what do you mean with service center? the shop you buy it from? What do you expect the service center to do for you? But generally it doesnt matter for them, the parts are all very similar. As for repair, i doubt they try and repair a card. If your pc is 'broken', a store/service center will figure out which part is broken and replace it. Are you building your PC yourself, or is it an upgrade for your current PC? If it's an upgrade you should be able to do it yourself, just make sure that if the new card requires different (more) cables that you got your psu cables.
  7. OC stands for overclock, the company did a small overclock (if you dont overclock it further, this is the brand's responsibility. So if the card would brake, its not your fault and it's covert under basic warrenty rules) Basically get one you find nice looking compared to price, cause that's what it mainly is lately. And use the common sense, 1 fan design probably cools worse then a 2 fan design etc. The cooling makes the most effect on speed, since nvidia drivers will boost the speed over the default rated speed if temps are good. For instance the 3080 is 1.6-1.7 rated and people have noticed speeds up to 2.0 without doing anything. And go for a brand with a good reputation i would say. I think we can all say, Asus came out on top in the 3000 series shitlaunch. And Gigabyte lately got some smack with not doing a proper recall for something that was their fault (was on their PSU's i think) Some more info Technically when you look at OC, the one saying the highest speed is the 'fastest'. However with how Nvidia works, they monitor the temps and do a overclock if temps are good, (same principle as CPU that says it runs 3.6-4.2) So the 50 mhz overclock the company has almost no effect. Ofcourse they test the parts and the better parts get selected for the OC version, they should auto clock higher under nvidia drivers. But all of this is what we assume companies do but there are never guarantees. Again it's all small effects and some rng.
  8. @GuiltySpark_ I ran the cinebench multi, and almost instantly it went to 90-100 degrees. And like 2 min in, there was a slight thermal throttle to like 4.70-4.75 and went lower over time to almost 4.6; The cpu is by default capped at 4.8. There is no overclock on it. After the test the cpu went back to 45-50 degrees and to then drop back down to 35 when like 5-10 min later. Again i dont know if this temps are normal. Anyone else running a i9 10850 (or 10900, they're the same) *Ambient temp was 22 degrees
  9. Ill give the cinebench a go. But what do i need to look for. Yes, it's the 360 version, but even with a new aio, an i9 will thermal throttle if you let it run at 100% for long enough, no? what max tmp should i look for? @darknessblade i would assume dc, the motherboard has a specific connector for an aio pump and that's the one its plugged into. Even had to get an extension cable to be able to reach it neatly *btw if anyone has done the rma process, how long does it take?
  10. So many might know, some MSI AIO coolers have a fault in them. And you can get it replaced if your AIO isnt running properly (for example while idling reaching 60+ degrees C). I'm now wondering if my product is affected, able to be swapped. Quick build info: Windows 10 64bit 64gb RAM, rtx 3070 Cpu: Intel i9 10850k Been playing Lost ark, and find the cooling seems to be working harder then before trying to keep things cool. Game is only demanding about 30-40% cpu usage but reaching 70+ degrees and it seems to me the fans are running more at a higher speed then before. Also starting to notice some weird sound when i start my pc (i think it might sound like gunk in the loop). But since I read the mail about the production fault, it could be between my ears and that cause i'm worried about it, i point fingers to the AIO when stuff is normal. So i'm more asking, how can I confirm there is a problem? The performance isnt that bad (yet) that it overheats while idling. But rather replace it on a moment i can plan then have it break during the weekend for instance. Anyone running a similar CPU with an AIO and can confirm the temps are normal or not? Anyone that had an affected MSI AIO Cooler and did you have the same? Also how long does the swap take? Is going to the store i bought it from and get an insta replace? *Did notice on the site of MSI regarding it, to apply for a swap need to select a country, Belgium is not in the list though :(
  11. So on my previous PC, i did a full reinstall 10 days ago and since then the screen suddenly goes black and doesnt come back and need to hard restart the PC. *This happens in and outside of games. Also the PC wont shut down normally, if i shut it down, windows turns off but the pc keeps turning, if i then hard reset (even by turning off the PSU), it doesnt even give a windows error. So the PC gets ready to shut down but then doesnt. This is a minor inconvenience but has been happening before reinstall too i think. PC Components: (Pc is like 5 years old) MB: Asus Z170 - pro graming Cpu: Intel i7 6700k Gpu: EVGA 980ti Classified 32gb Corsair vengeance memory (think 2133hz or 2400hz ddr4) PSU: EVGA 850W (dont know exact type) SSD: Some 5year old Samsung M.2 ssd with 250gb Now i also had this black screen happen on my new PC, but here it recovers properly. But same error 4101 (was like 5 times in a row) and then continued, didnt have to restart. I reinstalled windows on iit a few days ago. New PC Components: MB: Asus ROG Strix z490 e-gaming Cpu: Intel i9 10850k Gpu: MSI Gaming X Trio 3070 (waiting on the 3080 ....) Memory: 64gb Corsair vengeance RGB Pro (2x32 sticks), 3200 or 3600hz, cant remember atm PSU: Seasonic 850 Focus SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 1TB (and some other HD/SSD, but the 970Evo is where windows is installed)
  12. I got the asus rog z490 E-gaming and i9-10850 and gpu the rtx 3080 The memory is the last part i need to decide on. Storage will be carry over, cooling/psu/case i know what to get, just need to go to the store and get it. Btw the 2x16 option would not be for expanding to buy 2x 2x16 kits most likely. I do notice there is a 2x32 kit for a similar price, but is 4x16 (3200mhz) gonna be the same as a 2x32 (3200mhz)?
  13. So im getting a new pc together, already got some parts ordered like the rtx 3080. But for the memory i'm doubting what the effects are of the memory speed. I saw a vid from Jayz2cents a few months ago about it that it did have some effect, but less if you're running higher resolutions and i am running 4k monitors. For cpu i got i9-10850k and memory i saw some corsair at 3200mhz that seems to be good value. Should i spend a bit more and go 3600mhz? Also im planning to get 4x16gb sticks, but i do notice buying the same memory 2x16 (and buying it twice) can save like 30 bucks over the 4x16 kit. Will this make a difference? *is it worth keeping the timings in mind, or does this have very little effect?
  14. Plans to upgrade my pc with the coming RTX 30 series. And i'm looking for a new monitor to go along but i barely find whats available. You google 4k 144hz and get 1440p monitors in the list Im looking for a 4k 144hz monitor. Nothing over 32inch and no widescreens Would like gsync and local dimming too. Would like to keep price below 1500, atm i think asus pg27uq is the best option which i see for 800 online. A shame its missing local dimming but i guess that rumored asus pg27uqx is staying a rumor If anyone knows the current market, options around. Or maybe a store/website were i can compare the monitors. That would be highly appreciated
  15. So after watching their latest vid, i was a bit disappointed. It felt more like a review of the LG 950 then anything else. I'm planning to buy an rtx 3080(ti) when it gets released and want to upgrade my monitor too. Atm im running a 4k monitor with gsync but at 60hz as main screen. Since i dont want to go down in resolution, I'm looking for a 4k 120+hz monitor with gsync. (no ultrawides, normal 4k) (pref HDR too) Atm i know of 3 brands producing set monitors, Asus/Acer and now LG. I'm mainly wondering what Asus is even doing lately, For over a year their are rumors of the PG27UQX, basically the same monitor then the PG27UQ but with more local dimming zones, but when is it coming? The problem i find looking at these monitors, there are so many features that comparing them is a mess. And is there a monitor (like the PG27UQX if it ever gets made) getting released soon thats worth waiting for?
  16. Hey, A friend of mine his PC has been acting up lately. The last week to 2 weeks, his PC was starting to have problems starting up. Giving the message, 'no boot device', if he retried restarting his PC the 2nd or 3th time it actually booted normally. Now his PC is taking a long time to post, like around 30 sec and afterwards gets the message, 'no boot device'. Tried it multiple times but to no avail. My initial thoughts were SSD is starting to fail, but long post time normally mean CMOS or maybe PSU? But i dont see a relation between both issues. He lives around 100miles away and I'm planning to go see him tomorrow so want to be as informed as possible and get a good idea of what to try.

  18. I would like to enter for the Excalibur v2 keyboard I had a g19 and then due extended problems with my Logitech headset and battling their support for 6 to 9 months they finally gave my a different product so I wanted a G710+ keyboard, but im from Belgium and we have our own Azerty layout which most manufacturer's stop making and only provide the French Azerty layout. So I asked for a Qwerty so i could swap to the universal layout and not get *screwed over by unsupported layouts anymore. Unfortunately they send the French layout and since i didnt explicit repeat that in the last response i gave them and was already annoyed enough after 6 months of conflict with them I ignored it and plan to swap to Qwerty on the next keyboard I get/receive. Also as a programmer the layout of certain symbols on Qwerty like mainly () <> : ; is just better.
  19. Kova, not so much for myself, (i got logitech g700s and happy with it) but my brother, he's a leftie so an ambidextrous mouse is kinda a must for him.
  20. oh i'll have to check that, i know the processor was an i7 920 with a gigabyte (think u3hd from almost 6 years ago) motherboard, the memory brand/specifics i dont remember at all. And some crappy gpu, it used to have 4870x2 but replaced it with an even older one when that broke. But not gaming or anything on that. But those issues arent they just related to memory? The system ran fine till a little while ago. But is there a way i can test the memory without restarting it (with remote access) so i dont have to move monitor and stuff around?
  21. Hey, On an older pc I installed windows server 2008r2 a long time ago. Thought it would be handy to install server software on since i do some webdesign and using it as some external storage and other tasks too. Recently i noticed it running slower and when i checked memory its over 90% usage which is causing it to run slower. But if i look in Task manager (showing processes of all users) i only count like 2-2.5 in use. Also if I check in resource manager I see the same numbers. I also noticed 2 other strange things that happened. If i kill sqlserver process (which should only use 750mb following task and resource manager) it frees up 40% almost, so it's freeing up 1.5gb. And the other strange thing i noticed is in the resource manager (tab memory) the 3rd graph (hard errors) is spiking up to max even (like avg 25-30 I guess). Is this an indication my memory might be corrupt or is this cause its transferring data from the memory towards the hard drive since its at +90% Been thinking of doing a memtest, but can i test the memory without rebooting? There is no screen attached to it (remote control) and then i have to move a lot around.
  22. Well its pretty fine, forgot to note that i'm from europe so count in euro's. But still Mediamarkt is selling it for 650€ which is still only 740 dollar, for once it seems to be cheaper in europe finally (sorry i had to overpay the 980ti like 100bucks compared to US)
  23. and outside the price bracket? how much would i be looking at then?
  24. Hey, Im looking to buy another 4k monitor. Running on a 980ti so pref g-sync? I already got a Asus pb287q but it seemed a bit iffy, when watching movies I noticed the left side of the screen (exact half left side) being a frame ahead or behind compared to the right side. Which is really annoying and noticeable when watching anime. However maybe this was because i was running it on a gtx680 with another 2 hd screens. Now i'm running on a 980ti but didnt check if that was the cause. Any help would be much appreciated.
  25. First off consider 1 thing. Racing games 3 monitors ye looks good. Shooters (especially multiplayer) 3 monitors is prob just to much it will most likely have a negative influence on your performance. Oflline games yea full immersion great everything to make it look nice. So ask yourself, how competitive are you in your online shooters? Whatever your answer is you could still opt for either ultrawide or triple. But if you go triple you will probably notice that you will be playing shooters on just the middle screen. Also for school work or anything else. Some said multitasking is better on 3 screens then ultrawide. Yea kinda, Linus uses the ultrawide for his office. You can easily 'split' your screen in 2 parts by dragging windows left and right instead of maximizing them. And half a screen of ultrawide is good enough to see a whole page in pdf/word or websites. And there is prob software to let the maximizing act like you have 2 screen (or mayby 3). So dont base it to much on working. I got 3 screens and it sure is handy. But if you go ultrawide and for work you rather have another screen. Buy a cheap 100$ one. I got 3 but mainly using 2, the third is for youtube music playlist or a stream as background. In the end this is a very personal choice you have to make. Try listing your pros and cons for each setup, bezels but wider or no bezels. performance gaming or immersion gaming or both (3mon setup and just 1 for online gaming, but smaller for online then). Make a full list, look at it and try deciding on what you find important.
