Do I need to reset my hard drive or reinstall my OS once I change the CPU in my motherboard? I have been told a lot of different things by a few people and want some good clarification. I'm replacing my g3258 with something new soon. Thanks!

Ok after spending 2 hours trying every god forsaken combination of ways to do these front panel connectors, literally the only thing I could get to post on my msi h81m p33 was the power led, does anyone have any idea what is wrong? I have followed the Manual on the correct ways to do it and then the power led did not even post...

You should really go intel, it would save you money over time and is much easier for upgrades. But if you insist on amd I would get a AMD Fx-6350 then spend more for the GPU.if you could really go Intel an i3 would be best though, when directx12 comes out the i3's hyper threading will be utilized a lot more.

Sounds like you have several hundred too many chrome tabs open and games running, 8gb is standard for even high end gamers usually. Only reason to need more should be rendering or editing.

Thanks for the advice guys! Also, I just started looking into Intel yesterday, with the i3 hyper threading does that mean windows will recognize the 2 core i3 as a 4 core? So I would be able to boot 4 core required games with no hacks?

Yep, I'm asking. After some great information given to me from a thread about how bad amd is, I'm wondering how these two compare. Anyone that has owned either of these two cpus for an opinion? I would be willing to buy the 4160 or 4130 if the g3258 is not good enough to at least play the latest titles at fair settings (1080p medium graphics) without bottlenecking a GPU.

Alright, then if it is same general price you guys have proved me wrong, if you can show me a motherboard+CPU combo for under 225$ I'll look into it. I Was informed from the youtubers I watched that and was pretty good. But you guys proved other wise.>sorry for bad typing, my phone is dumb.
