  1. Specs Name: Slightly Top-Heavy CPU: AMD FX 8350 GPU: 2GB AMD R9 270 RAM: Crucial 1600mhz 3x4GB Score: 0.2
  2. I know this is probably a common question, but do 144hz monitors usually come with a Dual link DVI cable? Here's the one I've purchased: Edit: Just checked the official website and it comes with Display Port, DVI and HDMI.
  3. Is there any way for me to test this? It sounds like a possibility.
  4. Ok, so for about a month now I've been getting a random BSOD whilst playing some graphically intensive games, after playing for about an hour. You might assume this is a thermal issue but the temperatures of my CPU and GPU never exceed 60 degrees. I usually play CS:GO but this doesn't happen while playing CS. It usually occurs whilst playing GTA V or Rust (I don't play many different games). At first I assumed it could be my RAM but after running a benchmark on the memory I'm not sure. My PC consists of: AMD FX 8350 @4.3GHz MSI 970A-G43 12GB Crucial and Corsair RAM @1600MHz AMD R9 270 @Stock 500W EVGA PSU
  5. Just as a general response to everyone, how would a 8350/8320 hold up? They're definitely in my price range, especially if i could find a used one.
  6. Okay so here's what I want. I compete in CS:GO at an intermediate level and I'm going to be upgrading to a 144hz (from 75hz) monitor and my current build can drop below 144fps, but very rarely. Streaming is also something I would be interested in but not my main concern. My current PC consists of a Athlon X4 750k (4.01 GHz), 8GB ram and a 270. I know that CS:GO is not going to gain from me upgrading my GPU so I need a new motherboard + CPU to substantially boost my fps. I also want to say that I very rarely play any other games apart from CS. I have a budget of around £150 - £170 for the CPU and Motherboard, since I need some money for the monitor. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
  7. Pretty sure 3gb Isn't normal usage for idling.
  8. I have posted image links above of my process list.
  9. Recently I have noticed some frame drops and general unresponsiveness in gaming and general system use. At first I assumed this was a CPU issue but after looking closer I have noticed my system is using 3 quarters of my RAM whilst idling. I haven't installed anything new for a while, I'm pretty clueless as to what's causing this. 1GB free during idling Idle process list (apart from chrome and aida64) EDIT: For people asking about my tabs and chrome, this is whilst IDLING. Which means I'm not running any programs in the foreground.
  10. For the past few days I've noticed my fps in games to be consistently dropping from 150 to around 70. I checked my CPU usage and it doesn't seem normal. I also haven't installed anything new for a few weeks so I'm not sure what it could be. Image Here. (This is whilst idling)
  11. Topic is solved over here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/395326-low-end-gpu-for-csgo/
  12. Thanks for all your suggestions guys, I just ordered a R9 270 with a new 500w psu!
  13. My average fps is around 160-180fps but I find frame drops very frustrating in competitive play so I want something that won't drop below 144.
  14. I'm currently playing CS:GO competitively and at the moment, I'm using a 75hz monitor with a Radeon 7770. I currently get more than enough fps for 75hz, it usually never drops below 100fps with low res and settings (which I prefer to use). I'm upgrading to a 144hz monitor soon and I'm hoping for some GPU recommendations in the price range of somewhere around £130. I don't really play any other games so I'm not concerned about having good performance in newer titles.
