  1. Also, would this be a high enough temperature to cause CPU throttling? It seems to be struggling on some tasks when both CPU and RAM usage are <50%
  2. I will try that, I have one of those rechargable air dusters, but unfortunately didn't bring it with me to where I'm currently staying
  3. I thought thermal paste could degrade over the course of years, and that manufacturers used generally lower quality to that of aftermarket paste, and that 6 years would be a long enough time for degradation?
  4. Hi Guys, I'm currently experiencing high-temps in game and while Idling(90+C on the CPU and GPU with rocket league on lowest settings) and was wondering how hard it is to change the thermal paste on this laptop. I changed the network card which was a pretty daunting task, and I ended up breaking my touchpad in the process, and I'm reluctant to do this maintenance as I might end up without a laptop. The laptop is well out of warranty as i've had it for about 6 years. Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area.
  5. I have been using it for about 3 months, and just been wondering if I can get even more out of it
  6. Hi there, Sorry if this is a bit of a rinse and repeate question. I was wondering whether it was worth upgrading my audio, I'm currently using the audio off my z87x-d3h motherboard which if I'm not mistaken is a Realtek® ALC892. One of the options I was looking at was a Fiio e10k. The headphones it will be paired with are the Audio-Technica ATH-AD900x's. These will mostly be used for music listening (prog metal and similar) and gaming (CS:GO and SWTOR etc) Look forward to any responses.
  7. Thanks for the advice, might wait out on upgrading audio for now, and instead upgrade my roughly 6 year old monitor and move into 144hz and adaptive refresh rates.
  8. Hi there, I have been looking at upgrading my PC audio, currently I'm using Audio-Technica AD900X with a modmic 4.0 for my microphone and was looking at either getting a DAC or Soundcard. For the soundcards I was deciding between the ASUS ROG Xonar Phoebus (https://www.asus.com/au/Sound-Cards/ROG_Xonar_Phoebus/) and the Creative Sound Blaster ZXR (http://au.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-zxr) as I like the microphone improvement qualities these two possess. Im leaning towards the creative card as its easier to buy here in Australia. My main uses would be for gaming, games such as CS:GO, Star Wars: The Old Republic and games like skyrim etc. As well as music, I listen to most of my stuff in FLAC. Was looking for any opinions as to whether either of those choices are good or if I should look into buying a DAC instead, and if so which ones should I look at.
  9. The Feenix Aria Headset looks absolutely amazing with the walnut finish, I already have a modmic 4.0 so this would complement it even further if I did have to do any voice comms while using it.
