  1. but by your example, if someone said if you can find a carrot thats specifically the same size as the carrot i am selling, and it weighs the same size, i will sell it to you for as much as they are selling it for. But then when you bring me the carrot you found, i tell you mine was made without any gmo's and mine is much tastier, can i then deny my offer to match the price? I don't want to be unreasonable, i understand the laptops are on two different levels, hence why I want the xps rather than the omen, but their policy states clearly "Products Dell will match:A new personal computer from HP or Lenovo sold on their respective U.S. websites that shares these same key specs with a Dell PC:o Operating systemo Memoryo Hard disk drive capacityo Graphics solution (i.e. GPU)o Screen Size and Resolutiono Touch capability o Processor" and the omen does all those things. so i think its wrong personally.
  2. But are they allowed to have something like this without upholding it? to the extent of what is written there?
  3. I get that its nice of them to have such a policy at all, but their terms dont include all those things you said, if it did I would genuinely have no problem with it. It just frustrates me that they expect something different from what they say they need.
  4. aha yeah, i understand they got their loopholes, and that the two systems are entirely different. But why have a policy like this if you dont intend to uphold it? I dont know, i satisfied their requirements and tried to be reasonable, just frustrated now.
  5. policy is policy. to me atleast, I dont know, I think it's alittle scummy, to advertise a policy and then add hoops to jump through, that arent listed anywhere on the policy. there isn't even much open language, it says they just have to the same key specs. I think its scummy
  6. yeah I know, just dont know why they have a policy that states they price match systems solely based on spec, and then when attempting to do so, they decline the request
  7. Been looking at dell's price match policy, seemed like an interesting idea for a tech company. But BS is what it is. There's apparently many many criteria not listed on this site even after the lines stating Products Dell will match:A new personal computer from HP or Lenovo sold on their respective U.S. websites that shares these same key specs with a Dell PC:o Operating systemo Memoryo Hard disk drive capacityo Graphics solution (i.e. GPU)o Screen Size and Resolutiono Touch capability o Processor I found an equivalent HP omen system speced with an i7 6700 hq, a gtx 960 (2gb), a 512gb ssd, same size panel and FHD which is spec for spec the same as there $1700 xps 15 But to no avail, there chat line simply will not allow for a system that isnt as "premium" to be matched, but the policy says nothing of it!!!! So annoyed and dont know where to go with this. The policy says one thing, they service reps insist on something else entirely. Any help anyone? Im going to try and call in tomorrow and try to get a better response
  8. Would love this for my apartment. University student on a budget, so this would be crazy amazing. Thanks for the giveaway.
  9. yeah I thought that would be smart, I'm just not sure how far away that is. I read somewhere that only the desktop cores would be released early second half. But I'm not too sure at this point. I need a laptop by September though. But oh the graphics thing, with an xps 13, if I wanted a touch display that high resolution is included with that tier I believe, down scaling shouldnt be too bad of a fix I think, and for heavier graphic oriented tasks I think it could be beneficial to a point. Thanks for the input
  10. Tons of things seem like they're changing right now from operating systems to hardware to cpus. I was just wondering, I like the sound of the 2015 refresh of the xps 13, but a 15 inch screen would do me well. Do you guys think that the xps 15 will be out by September? Is it worth the wait? Or would the 13 be better suited.... the xps 15, will have windows 10 (not sure if thats a good thing, but it will be native so no fear of a lack of compatible hardware) skylake is due to be out second half, but thats desktop cores I believe... So just looking for some input, anything really. I'm awfully new to this sorta thing, sorry if my questions are broad or unorthodox. Thanks in advance
