  1. Running 5.1 for 4 years now, got some new memory, did a quick cache overclock and bumped up my CPU another 100Mhz. Result is not really stunning, more like dissapointing, but might as well show it here. Memory overclock is just a quick working solution as for now. Going to increase the clockspeed and tighten the timings soon.   4. Changing the voltages to VCCIO 1.2v and VCCSA 1.25v does not change anything when it comes down to stability. I also tried: - Setting a fixed 2000mhz to all cores - Setting a fixed 2133mhz to memory - Setting a power-saving mode None helped and just as soon as i enable more than 2 cores the PC just wont boot. No matter what i change and where i am trying to boot to.

OK, so i have done the following: - Reseating - Removing 1 module - Tested both modules in all available slots - Testing 1, 2, 3, all cpu cores again with each module - Disable Speedstep - Disable Turboboost I know the memory works fine, this is defenitely not the issue. Memory runs on stick speed. Issue still exsists. EDIT: Just ran a Cinebench R20 test with the following setup: - 2 cores enabled - Speedstep enabled - Turboboost enabled - Both 8Gb modules installed for in total 16Gb at 2133mhz (stock) Idle temps are 21c, load temps are 31c. Test completed succesfully with a whopping 492 points (whew)

  7. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT have all shown up when booting. I tried BluescreenView but it did not save the BSOD to the minidump folder. I have reseated the CPU about 5 times in total. Changing the voltage to 1.35 and 1.4 only made it last longer to 'survive' but the system still froze. *EDIT: I have been able to retreive two dump files and have added them to this post.   8. Unfortunately this is not a succes. It's defenitely not my powersupply since this one has been used for a couple years under heavy conditions and should not cause any issue with this low-powered CPU. *I set the idle voltage to 1.3 too and it loaded into Windows till i got a BSOD. Might be something wrong with the powermanagement itself i assume?
  9. I can confirm that installation is completed with only 1 core active and currently Windows running on 2 cores. Anything above will not work and freeze once booting to Windows.
  10. Still does not boot to the USB stick with bootable Windows. Just to give it a try i tried booting to the fresh Windows installation but this does not work either. Is there a possibility that one of the cores died and that disabling cores could fix my issue? *EDIT: I disabled all cores but one and it seems that i am now able to boot to the USB stick. I will install a new version of Windows and then re-enable all cores.
  11. Unfortunately, this results in an endless view of the ASUS bootlogo. Is it normal that the SSD where my fresh Windows is installed onto dissappears from the bootmenu once i disable CSM? *Maybe important to note is that Secure Boot is enabled and i am unable to disable this. Only option i have is OS Type Other OS / Windows UEFI Mode
  12. It's set to both Legacy and UEFI. I just wanted to update my reaction: I managed to boot to the SSD without instantly booting to the BIOS. However. Booting to the SSD also results in either a stuck blue flag or infinite loading icon. *Same thing applies for the USB.
  13. I have done that and it's booting to it but gets stuck in forever loading.
  14. The SSD installed is a fresh install of Windows. I can however make a bootable Windows USB and show you the result but i am sure it will give the same result.
  15. That is enabled and it still will not boot. It goes straight into BIOS. Look at the video attached (don't mind the quality) Video.mov
  16. Save this BIOS profile and reset it. Check if issue presists.

OK, so i got myself an i5 6500T and it doesn't seem to have any physical damage but it does not boot to anything. - It shows up fine in the BIOS - It detects all the RAM i put in there - Adding voltage doesn't affect - Downclocking doesn't affect - Other CPU's work fine - Neither a Windows installation on SSD works as a bootable Linux on USB I have no clue what is going on. It's really fustrating since i wanted to use this CPU in a project where i build a gaming PC in a Xbox One casing. Specifications (testbench) - ASUS Z270-P motherboard - 16GB DDR4 3000CL15 Corsair Vengeance RGB (2x8) - Crucial M500 500GB SATA SSD with Fresh Windows - Intel Core i5 6500T (defective?) - Cooler Master 212 CPU cooler - EVGA SuperNOVA G2 1000W PSU
  18. Yeah, i just stick to the 5.1Ghz 1.36v for daily use. Maybe for benching i’ll go higher than 1.4v but not worth for a 100Mhz increase in daily use.
  19. Temperatures are no issue, but i don't think there is a lot room left for a decent increase of mhz. At 1.408v and 5.2Ghz the CPU crashes after about 15 minutes, and the temperatures are max 60-65c. To hit 5.2Ghz, i might have to push all the way up to 1.45v or higher, which is not worth that 100mhz for daily use. Might go as far as i can for just benchmarking, but nothing else than that.

  21. Haha alright, well 1.3v is just a bit above the stock voltage so i don't really want to stick to that voltage. My cooling will for sure allow me to pull 1.5v or higher through the CPU, so that's not my biggest concern. Do other people have an opinion about the voltage? Let me know!
  22. Yeah, i figured that out as well. But maybe i need to be more specific; 24/7 use under a fair amount of load during that time, without losing much of it's lifespan. I mean, i don't mind pulling 1.5v through the CPU, as long as it does not affect the lifespan too much.
  23. Hello! I have an overclocked i7 7700k running at 5.1Ghz at 1.36v. But what is the maximum voltage for a chip like this? When i ask people, i get answers from 1.3v to 1.5v for daily use (but i just need to make sure i won't kill this chip by pulling too much voltage through it, just to run that 100mhz faster) My cooling solution is superb, as you can check out my (ghetto) rig down below. (Currently finishing it) https://www.overclock.net/forum/rigbuilder.php?do=rig&action=view&rigid=6849864 Under gaming load, the CPU hits about 40-50c. While stresstesting, the CPU hits about 45-60c. This gives me plenty of heatroom, while still having a quiet PC. (fans running at 40%)
