  1. I just purchased the MSI MEG x570 ACE a week ago and its a good motherboard. The bios is robust enough to get the job done and seems solid. I'm running this RAM kit with a 3700x. I don't have a PCIE 4 M.2 yet so I can't comment on the performance but that is in the works.
  2. If you have enough desk space and don't care about anything over 60hz, then go 4k. The 43" monitors aren't too bad. I have a Samsung 49" 4k TV as my main screen and I can't go without it. I used to have a 34" 120hz 1440p ultrawide but my taste has changed. I want a higher resolution for gaming over refresh rate now.
  3. Get an ultrawide. I have a S2716DG as well. Next to it I have a U3415W which is a ultrawide. It's an awesome combination. The ultrawide can handle content creations thanks to its accurate colors and is awesome for watching movies on. Be aware though that YouTube will have black bars on the sides in fullscreen mode.
  4. I own the Dell U3415W is a great monitor. It awesome for gaming but it can't compete with a high refresh rate monitor. I don't know if you have experience with one but it does make a difference, and G-sync is a like the cherry on top. If you are looking to save some money then go with the Dell. If not then go with the Acer.
  5. Quick shot of my setup. I love my ultrawide but I recently picked up my first 144hz G-Sync monitor and I'm in love. After some calibration, the colors really pop which makes it the best TN panel I've ever had. I use it for all my gaming now instead of my ultrawide. Eventually I will pony up the money to purchase a 34" ultrawide high refresh rate monitor but for the time being, this is my perfect setup. Dell S2716DG Dell 3415UW Dell S2415H
  6. I'm in the market for a 2nd monitor for my setup. My son and I are looking to start a little Youtube channel. I currently own a 34" ultrawide, Dell U3415W. I would like to get another Dell. I'm thinking to go with 1080p on this so that we can stream console gaming on it without having to worry about black bars on each side. I'm currently looking at: 1. Dell U2417H - $200 (Newer model?) 2. Dell U2414 - $200 I would like to mention that both monitors will be mounted on a monitor arm w/ the 2nd monitor stacked on top of the ultrawide. What would you guys suggest?
  7. I'd like to play with some people. I'm tired of playing with others that don't talk or work together. Origin ID: Twitchstick
  8. If you are rocking a 1440p display, I would suggest the 1080. A 1070 will be good but some games struggle at that resolution and a few setting will need to be turned down. I know this from personal experience. I started with a 1070 and realized I had to sacrifice a little bit to get 60Hz. Now I have a 1080 and no more compromise.
  9. True and I forgot to mention that point. I don't plan on water cooling my system though.
  10. Am I the only one who prefers the Founders Edition for this new series? I know they are more expensive for less efficient cooling. But as for design and build quality, they look and feel more premium. I have a Founders Edition GTX 1070, and I can't seem to find a AIB card that improves on anything other then cooling. Some aesthetics might be a little more appealing but not by much. I'm not a huge fan or RGB either.
  11. I think $400 is a ok price for a 980 Ti SC+ w/ BP. That is what I currently have now.
  12. I should clarify a bit, I would purchase a open box one from Microcenter. It is complete.
  13. Just want a few opinions. I have seen the discussion with using a SLI setup, the pros and the cons. I'm fully aware of them as I had a SLI setup only a year ago. Anyway, I have the opportunity to purchase a 2nd 980 Ti SC+ for $400. I've been debating this over the past few days and can't make up my mind. This would hold me over until the 1080 Ti is released hopefully later this year. I think this is a really good price for one. Thoughts?
  14. I think your CPU would only be a bottleneck if you are gaming at a higher resolution. I just upgraded last weekend from a 2600k @ 4.5, 16GB DDR3, and a GTX 980 ti, to a 6700k @ 4.5, 16GB DDR4 @ 3000Mhz, and the same video card. Did I see an improvement? I did see an improvement but not much. I game at 344x1440 so the extra horsepower I'm getting with an upgraded CPU and memory is serving me well when gaming. I didn't do it with the mindset though that I was going to have huge gains. Instead I upgraded for the features that are offered, that I won't have with a 5 year old chipset. Stick with what you got if you are gaming at 1080p. If you plan on bumping up to 1440p in the future then go for the upgrade. I would stick with Z170 if all you are doing is gaming. X99 is great but its is catered to those who want to do much more then just play games. The 6700k will outperform the 6800k in games that are not CPU intensive.
