  1. Thank you for this reply! I was just wondering - should I ask my friend to order for me now or wait a couple of days since Black Friday deals may bring the price of the graphics card down?
  2. Sorry for the double post, but I have a few questions regarding the builds mentioned so far. First, would an RX480 8GB fare well with the budget? The builds mentioned so far only suggest 480 4GB, but I am thinking of getting the 8GB one. Also, does the graphics card affect the editing/rendering time on a computer? What is the difference between Xeon processors and i3/i5/i7? Thinking of getting Skylake processors...
  3. Thanks for the replies, guys! Keep the comments coming!
  4. Hello! I posted a thread way back in 2015, hoping to build a gaming/editing rig, but I never got to build it since I did not have the time and the money. Now, I decided that I would start on getting the parts as I have a "stable" job and one of my office mates can order me some parts in the US (as I live in the Philippines), if the parts there are more cheaper than the ones sold here. I am starting to look for the best graphics card for my build since it would be the most essential part of the build, and the Black Friday sales are incoming I believe. So, if you guys have any deals out that that can be included in the build, please tell me! I'm planning to order the graphics card soon! As for the other parts, I will be going buying it eventually, and hoping that the parts you suggested will be available here in my country. Anyway, I need your suggestions so I can pick among the people's suggestions on what would be the best bang for my buck. Haha. Here's the set of things about what I plan to do with this pc. My budget will be around P30,000 (Philippine Pesos) so it’s going to be around $600-$700. I can opt to go a little over the budget, but not more than $750, maybe. I live in the Philippines. Our currency is in Philippine Peso. Exchange rate is around 48 Philippine Pesos = 1 USD. I really have little idea about retailers. I'm planning to get these later on, as the main focus is to build the desktop first. I would like to use my computer for gaming and editing videos and pictures. I want to learn video editing and photo editing so if you guys have any tips or videos for me to watch, please let me know! Not really looking into overclocking my computer since I am not going to be a hardcore gamer. Just going to play some DOTA 2 here and there, and maybe try out the free games in Steam. Maybe someday, I'll try to go hardcore, but not anytime soon. Nope. I believe Windows 10 would be great, but do you think MacOS would be better sine I will be editing videos and the like? Never used MacOS though, so I really have no idea. (about the costs and like) If you Game- High settings, maybe? I have never really experienced playing in high settings in my life so I would like to try it, even once. For FPS, well, whatever seems to be the averagely nice number would be nice. I really have no idea about resolutions. I mostly play DOTA 2, but I would like to try other non-MOBA games such as GTA V, Assassin’s Creed, The Witcher and the like. As I have stated above, I would like to try out games from early 2014 to the recent ones. If you Render or Edit things- I usually use Sony Vegas for editing videos but I recently downloaded Adobe Premiere Pro. I would like to learn Adobe After Effects as well so maybe a rig that will be able to handle both would be nice. I render videos for school work and hopefully, some game videos as well if this rig turns out well. If you don't have peripherals - I have no idea. Do these things really help you improve gaming a lot? I have never seen any use for it since I do well with a simple non-gaming mouse/keyboard/etc. The simple ones that you see in offices? I have no idea what they are called lol I just got one from the office of my mother. I would like to play MMOs, FPS and MOBA. No idea…
  5. I've been using ASUS-X450LD. You can do your usual school work in it, plus casual gaming like Dota 2 and what not. But, I don't think they are selling it anymore, so maybe anything that goes after this series of laptop from ASUS would be nice.
  6. Ah, but it looks somewhat the same as the iOS since it's minimalistic as well, I think. Haha! The aesthetics of the Mipad is also like the iPad.
  7. It really looks like the iPad mini, even the OS! Amazing...
  8. Awesome. Dunno how to overclock yet though, so I'll be around to ask some more questions in the near future when I got all my parts ready! Thanks, guys!
  9. Lol calm down, you guys! Thanks! I'll prolly get it together with the bundled ram, because why not, right? Oh, another question. My friends told me that if you OC a GPU, its lifespan gets shorter? Is this only a myth or is it true?
  10. Looking into buying this maybe: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r93804gd5toc Any thoughts on this GPU, guys? Oh, and what CPU should I get with this one? An i5-4460 or an i5-4590?
  11. Ah, that sounds wonderful! Will look into doing that in the near future after I graduate from Uni and get a job. Thanks!
  12. In Crossfire? That means? Haha, sorry guys for asking too much questions. New to this "building your own pc" thing.
  13. Oh, I see! Then, 4GB it is! Well, the reason why I want to buy the GPU first is because it is generally cheaper when it bought there at the US than here, I guess?
  14. Why should the GPU be bought last? Wanted to buy the R9 380s because there might be some holiday sale somewhere haha so it would be nice if you guys link them to me. Oh and would you guys recommend a 4GB or a 8GB? Would there be much of a difference? Also, reason for buying the 380 is because I'm on a budget and most people said that AMD GPUs are the go-to for budget builds.
  15. My girlfriend will be coming to the US this Christmas, so I'll ask her to buy some parts from me there since I live in the Philippines and the parts mentioned in the builds from this topic of mine (see: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/459705-need-a-budget-600-700-pc-for-2015/) are from pcpartpicker. I would like to ask your opinion on what should I buy first? GPU? If so, what is the current best deal out there for R9 380 with 4GB maybe? I saw there are different brands of this GPU and was wondering what is the best deal out there. Thanks for the help guys!
