Some random speech that I found about schools.
School, it’s meant to prepare us for the future, to make us successful, to give us a good life, to make us happy. But what if i told you that they do the opposite, they make children less
intelligent, they make real genius’ seem dumb. But how is that possible, kids go to school they learn , and they become more intelligent.That’s right but the way the children learn, the teaching process is defective.It gives impression that the students have 1 way to live life.Go to school, go to college, get a job. Do it that way or you won’t be successful. But that’s completely wrong.
People such as Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein all some of the most successful inventors that ever lived, dropped out of school and got homeschooled,which helps proove the point that homeschoolers do better than students that attend public schools. Home schoolers also have better communication, socialization and maturity rates compared to public school students, making them have a better life. This is due to the fact that these students are more creative and are better at thinking.
Homeschoolers tend to do tasks on subjects they're interested in, making them think about it, unlike public school students that have to write about butterflies, and rainbows, which most children don’t want to write about. Therefore they want to search it up on the internet, and they copy instead of thinking.
On tests in public school, the same things happens, the teacher asks the students to memorize instead of thinking, and their final score is marked on the ability to memorize not thinking.And, because homeschoolers usually do their tasks on subjects they are interested in, they have a higher chance of discovering a passion for something they might not in public school, giving them more opportunities in the future.
When the schools are not letting students express themselves, and think, they encourage conformity, they make students do certain things and if they don’t do them, they get punished making them not want to express themselves which will become a big issue in the future.Also at school, there will always be a group of kids that go around fooling around and bullying other children, these children can influence kids, and make them become bad people.
So we’ve determined the fact that schhols destroy our future.How do we fix these schools? We have to change the education system. We have to turn schools into a safe environment, we have to apply the knowledge that we teach to the children’s real life, it has to be relevant, that’s the only way they’ll learn. The learning shouldn’t have a time constraint,it should be challenging and the kids should be asking question about subjects
they want to learn about.
They should be able to pick their own courses,just like templestowe college in australia. The school let’s kids aged 12-18 pick their whole schedule for each day, and if they ask to do anything, the default answer is always yes, unless it will take to much time, to much money or negatively impact other people .And just like kids enrolled in Templestowe college, we should get more sleep, instead of getting tortured by homework, so that they can continue learning, and preparing for their future.And as some studies show kids will learn better with more sleep.But the best part of Templestowe college, and why our schools should have the same system, is because they encourage learning about the children’s passions even when the kids aren’t at school. At home the kids have to do something called home learning,they have to document 10 hours of themselves learning about whatever they want. And as many studies show, kids won’t learn if they don’t want to.
But we know how to fix our schools, we have to turn our schools into a safe environment , we have to apply the knowledge to the world and to the students. We have to challenge the students and help them discover their passions. And as Albert Einstein said “The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education”
