Hi all, I have a Huawei p20 Lite. The problem started with it saying the fingerprint hardware not available, now after a reboot the fingerprint option has been removed from the settings. Preferably any solution other than a factory reset would be much appreciated, the phone itself is about 3 months old. Thank you in advance

Helloooo, I am trying to install 4GB of RAM in the form of 2x2GB DDR2 PC2-5300 sticks but i get no post when i install them. It keeps turning on and off but no boot. I've tested all the dimm slots with the current 1GB stick that is installed and the system boots every time. The RAM i have bought said it had been tested but obviously they could be no good now. Any idea on what i can. Cheers

Thanks for the excellent advice!!!! Will be thoroughly taken on board

so would you suggest setting up a simple windows back up to happen every so often to an external drive (as well as raid?)
-
Thank you for the very detailed reply, what you're saying makes absolute sense, a raid array should be quite suitable, i just need relitvely safe back up for a low level SQL database

Thank you for the reply, i have used WD in the past with no problem and I was swaying towards them. Thanks for the advice man

I need a hard drive that is going to go inside a PC that will be in a business and is going to be storing alot of vital data. It doesn't have to store the OS as well, i could have 2 separate drives. What drive would people suggest (reasonably priced but good reliability.) Thanks

thank you for the reply, i will look into the sqlalchemy, i'm finding this quite difficult but i am sure i'll get there in the end

Help as a soon to be Degree Student

I have just looked on PC Specialist now and they seem to do some really good laptops for good prices (especially if you knock the OS) off the price -

Hey everyone, i am currently in Sixth Form in the UK and next year i will be leaving for University to do a Masters Degree in Physics and i will need a laptop for daily work and light gaming when i get time . I currently have a desktop which consists of and FX-8350, MSI R9-390x, MSI Gaming Motherboard, Kingston SSD, Corsair 750M PSU as well as 2 1080p Monitors and Corsair keyboard.... All of which i am hoping to sell as parts and get somewhere in the neighborhood of at least £400. Using this and hopefully another £300 (maybe £400 if im lucky). This gives me a budget of around £700 for a laptop... I want a laptop with the following features: (baring in mind i will be purchasing the laptop in mid 2017 so you may not be able to help too much but giving me some brand names to look out for new releases would be great too) - Light (aluminium would be great) - 1080p Screen at least - Good Performance (at least 8gb of RAM) - Capable of some light gaming (minecraft, garry's mod) - Good battery life I may be asking a lot but any feedback is much appreciated.

System for a tool hire company- What language?

System for a tool hire company- What language?
Stevoicus replied to Stevoicus's topic in Programming
My ideal method would be to have a form interface that is linked to a database to store the information of the active hires and customer information. I do not really want a web application so i think i may ignore my teacher. Would python be alright to create the link between the form/GUI and the database do you think? -

Hi, thank you for your replies. My teacher recommended using either Dreamweaver and PHP or Visual Basic and ASP.Net... What do you guys think? And my current programming experience lies with Python but i just dont think that will cut it
