  1. I'm afraid we might not live to see it get any further than a vague concept of Utopia. The one thing that could help this happen would be a small region anywhere in the world that managed to claim it's independence, and from then on gradually start relying less and less on commerce, tourism and all kinds of trade, but rather starting to shelter and feed every inhabitant with the resources we have, so that instead of working on unimportant things like sales, advertising or whatever it may be, they can spend their time contributing to education and research while enjoying a lot of spare time for culture and entertainment.
  2. The one factor that is the biggest obstacle to this project is the end of privileges. The privileged are more and more powerful, and their power relies almost entirely on capitalism. One can easily imagine that the privileged don't want to end up having access to the same amount of resources, culture and entertainment as everyone else, they've grown used to having much more than the rest of us. And they find solace in that superior position.
  3. It's subjective. You might think it's a good or bad thing depending on what you value most between freedom and equality.
  4. We're in too deep, unfortunately. Only a miracle or a catastrophe could open a path that strays away from capitalism.
  5. French guy here, I'm not actually a twitter user but I can definitely see how French and German users might benefit from this. Our words are just too long, and our syntax doesn't allow for much concision.
  6. Switched from my old 660 to a 1080ti last month, never been happier. Don't wait for things to come out, just buy a new card whenever you have the money and want something better. And what if you miss out on a slightly cheaper version of the card you bought that might come out someday soon? At least you won't be waiting, you'll be enjoying your new rig! 1080ti is a beast and will remain a beast for some time imo
  7. The retailer is amazon. Ok, hopefully something like that can happen for me too.
  8. It's a 1080ti but yeah I went to a computer shop yesterday and the guy said that running a 1080ti with a single cable is absolutely fine as long as both 8pins are plugged on the card.
  9. I checked, and I got nothing. Is it possible that since the offer wasn't specifically mentioned on the product page the day I bought the card, I might have missed it? (it's mentioned pretty much everywhere else)
  10. I will post a picture as soon as I get home.
  11. That's exactly what it looks like, except that for the second 6+2, I used the 6 to 8pin converter included in the GPU, otherwise the cable was too short (it's one of those with thick twisted fabric around it, so I couldn't really twist or stretch it enough....)
  12. I guess I can just buy an extra one, yeah, I still have room on my PSU. But a single cable will have to do for now.
  13. I didn't get anything but the delivery confirmation. Who should I be complaining to, then? Amazon, MSI or Nvidia? Man, I could have gotten either Shadow of War or Destinity 2, both of which I'm looking forward to play :'(
  14. All I know is it's 750w, I'll be able to tell you more when I get home in a few hours.
  15. Hi there! I just got my MSI 1080ti gaming x yesterday, and little did I know the box didn't include anything but the card and a 6pin to 8pin adapter! (I didn't even get a code to download a free game... I don't know what's up with that). Anyways, the cable I used to power my old 660 was a single 6pin, and I was left with an extra 2pin dangling on the side, plus another 6pin+2pin on that same cable. I used that cable to power my new 1080ti since I didn't have a spare 8pin and really wanted to try it. Should I be worried about using a single cable to power a 1080ti? It seemed to be working fine, I played for little over an hour on BF1 and everything was running smoothly, the card was silent.
