  1. Hi everyone, i just found a sweet deal in my country at a clearance sale for an Asus RoG GTX 980 Ti Matrix Platnium, for the price of a 980 ref. Trouble is, i can't find a waterblock anywhere for it... Not even EKWB have one! So i'm just asking if anyone knows if there is a block for this card, or if maybe the Strix block fits it.
  2. it's hard to tell, as you stated there aren't any "real" benchmarks yet (reviewers etc.), but since they said it's recommended for VR, then it should be able to crush 1440P, but so would a 1070. It's too early to tell
  3. I Have a G2 in my build, and it's rock solid. Honestly they are all great options from my understanding, but i would recommend a G2 from my experience.
  4. yeah, just disassembled it again, it was placed in the plastic pop ups inside the block. i did give it a thorough cleening though, remounted it and reapplied the TIM. It seems to have worked since the idle temps are about 29-35 (on average). I think the cause of this was either a clogged or a bad mount, or maybe a combination of both.
  5. tried 4 different thermal compound applications, from different amounts to different patterns
  6. hmm... i'll try a few methods then. the thing i find weird is the fluctuation between the temps when idling, it tends to spike quite a bit...
  7. The reason for taht average, i believe, is because i just started the test (shot taken at 53 sec) but it really creeps up after that ok i will try and rotate the block. I cannot dial back the voltage at all, otherwise i loose my 4.8 Ghz OC. But even so i did some tests today to see the temps in different use case scenarios and here's what i got: idle - 40/45 degrees simple tasks like opening Chrome - 60/70 degrees (it falls after that to about 45/50 after about 30 seconds) Gaming (GTA V at high and Very high settings at 4K) - 80/90 degrees.
  8. i have an AIDA 64 stress test here. As you can see, with just 1.3 volts the system overheated almost instantly, and even hit 97 degrees on Core #2.
  9. Here are the pictures of the loop: Btw don't ask about the weird bend from the GPU to the 140, i don't have a rotary fitting so i can't make the tube go out from the top as it would kink.
  10. Will definitely try that out. Thank you.
  11. Yeah i can do that, but im not home right now. I can do it in a few hours.
  12. yup, replaced the jet for the proper one, makes no difference.
  13. i have dissasembled and cleaned the block. Not the issue. although one thing struck me about the block, when looking at the thermal paste spread, its off to one side but not by a lot.
  14. no i wouldn't think so. Its quite weak below 1500 rpm, but above that it seems to work just fine.
  15. ok, so as said in the title, my 4790k temps have skyrocketed in the last couple of weeks, since i changed out the block (EKWB Supremacy Evo) and the temps are hitting 95 degrees at 1.3 volts (4.8 Ghz). Annoying... Even at 1.140 volts it gets up ínto the high 70s. I have reapplied the thermal paste mutliple times now, no difference. any suggestions? radiators: 1x 140, 45 mm - 1x 360, 38 mm - 1x 280, 45mm all with SP fans.
  16. Thanks man, I was definitely scratching my head on this one...
  17. dunno, is that a thing. i just have a Windows version of it (v5.142). is that too old for it to work? Could you be so kind to provide a link to a Win 10 version, if that's the case? btw cool build you got there...
  18. Yup, done that now it says it can't even find it.
  19. hi everyone, im having trouble flashing my card (EVGA GTX 780 Ti reference) with Nvflash. i have done everything by the book (at least i think so), but nvflash keeps putting out the I/O ERROR: CANNOT OPEN FILE: i know ive typed the rom correctly, and it has a ".rom" at the end of the title, so i cannot find a reason on why it's behaving like this. suggestions?
  20. Thank you man! I think im gonna go with the Kepler bios tweaker instead of Skynet, as it seems to risky. i appreciate your help.
  21. Could you maybe link me to the Keplar bios tweaker then?
  22. Yeah ive heard about the vaoltage hardware lock, but i just want control over my powerlimit and get a steady voltage/clock speed. the card can already do 1253 on the stock bio (and on air)
