  1. Yeah other side is empty. I'm sure they had their reason for having the pad in there but I don't care that much
  2. No there's nothing literally just the pins to connect the chip. I know its old news but this makes the 11GB fiasco seem even worse, there was no design issue they just didn't put it in lmao
  3. I'm using a Titan X pascal waterblock to watercool my 1080ti because there are no better fitting waterblocks available for an SC2 Gaming. Titans came with 12GBs of VRAM where the 1080ti only got 11GB so there's an empty slot where one of the VRAM chips should go. When I did the teardown there was a double stacked thermal pad specifically on that slot but my waterblock does not come with that since its not designed for that. Is there any reason for me to worry about it? I assume not because that spot shouldn't be producing heat but I just want to make sure
  4. Yeah both are 3600, well I think for $100 if it matches my current one I’ll be fine, I’ve just been pushing my RAM a little lately be nice to get some breathing room. alright, thank you
  5. I see RAM prices have gone down and I thought it’s time to give myself a comfortable amount. i have 16GB of 3600 Trident Z CL16, and when searching I can only find CL18. Can I mix the two or will I get major problems?
  6. I have a spare build that needs a case that I want to give to a friend, i5 3550, 16GB 1333mhz, GTX660 I want to fit it into this this SilverStone mini-ITX case. Is it cheaper to go to a different architecture and get a new CPU and Mobo, or try to get a mobo for this CPU? Most that I can find are at least $100
  7. Oh so you actually get past the bios? I was under the impression you weren't getting to the bios. In your bios do you see your boot drives?
  8. Did you move the cap back to the original 1-2 position?
  9. Your bios settings that's all they mean. This will reset it
  10. You got a bios reset button on your mobo?
  11. I've only had bad experience with gaming laptops and haven't touched them since I had my Alienware in like 2012. Currently the difference in price/performance is so vast that I would definitely recommend building a PC if you are okay with either carrying your PC or not having it at times
