  1. Yeah. I waited. But it went to out of stock. Like I said. I like the theory, in practice it's still just as frustrating.
  2. Missed it again. Got through the quiz and ZERO available. I like what you're doing Linus, but it still just feels as bad as when the bots raid the stores on notification.
  3. Ok. Been going through quite a few things and looking into this. I've narrowed down to 3 options now. Wanted to get some feedback before I head out this weekend to go look at them and possibly make a purchase. OLED Option - LG BX 65" Samsung QLED Option - 65" Vizio QLED Option - 75" These are my finalists so to speak. I upped my budget a bit to get into that "next tier" so to speak. The Samsung is the cheapest and seems like it's very comparable to the Vizio in my research, but the Vizio has the benefit of a larger screen size for not much more than the Samsung. If I go up to 75" on the Samsung the price goes up significantly. My question is simply, is the OLED worth getting into. From what I've read on that end, is that the LG CX is the one to get and it's not much more than the BX, but I cannot source one locally. I can get one from Amazon. Just want some feedback from folks that have jumped into the OLED vs LED. LG CX OLED - 65"
  4. I'm pretty set on a 75" screen size as well, don't know if that factors into your recommendation as well.
  5. With unlimited funds, yes a OLED would be nice, but you pretty much nailed it. I'm on a budged of around $1000 - $1500 USD.
  6. I was looking at that one compared to the link I posted, was trying to figure out the difference other than the $100 price difference.
  7. I need some input on TVs. I'm not very well versed and previously my purchase has been fueled by "how much screen size can I get for the least amount of $$$". This is my current TV Vizio M55 It works well enough. I use my Apple TV with it for media consumption and that's pretty much it. I'm not a console gamer and I have my PC set up on a small desk with a 144 Hz 1080p panel in another room for gaming purposes. I've narrowed things down a bit from some reviews/YouTube vids and just wanted some feedback. Samsung Option Vizio Option I've had my current Vizio for about 3 1/2 years and it's been a pretty good TV but has a few quirks. I've had some issues with the 2.0a port on my Vizio otherwise seems to work fine. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with the two TVs listed above and if not those, what would you suggest. I mostly enjoy my big display for movies, Netflix, etc, but would still like option to game on it if things change in the future. Thanks in advance!!! EDIT: Probably should've added that I'm looking to spend around $1000 - $1500USD for the new TV.
  8. I went back and watched the vid. LOL, yeah, basically more case than I'd want to have, and he's basically upsizing the case to fit the mongono GPU with an ITX mobo.
  9. Not sure I follow you on this, that case seems nice, would have to go the SSD route rather than the m.2 due to the older motherboard, but I'm not too concerned with thermals as what I'm intending to do with the PC is not going to be very hardware intensive. ETA: Velkase seems to be very limited on availability as well.
  10. I recently updated my sister's PC and inherited some of the old components. I've got an ASUS Mini ITX board (link), CPU (link), and memory and though rather that tossing it in the bin that I'd try to upcycle into a little emulator box. I've got a Raspberry Pi running most of my emulation tasks, but I thought I might try something with a little more horsepower for my N64/PSOne stuff. I want as small of a footprint as I can get and still run a full size GPU. I'm planning on going up to a 1650 or similar for the GPU and wanted to see if I can source a i7 2600k if I can(found a few on eBay). The CPU in it now is just a dual core, so I wanted to upgrade that with a low profile Noctua cooler and get a discreet GPU on a riser. Also, I've got a 250W SFX supply from the old case but I doubt it's got any 80+ cert on it, so what PSUs should I look at. I'm not looking at running modern games at 1080p or anything like that, I just wanted to put a Ultra small form factor PC together so I can stash it next to the TV and play old games via emulation. Money is not a huge concern, later on if I get crazy I can go the Ryzen route on a mini ITX and bigger/badder GPU. Just looking for reccomendations on the case and PSU front. Thanks in advance.
  11. It retains the back plate with new studs installed to mount the cooler. I went back to the air cooler this morning with the same result. So now I'm concerned that I may either have a bad CPU or a bad motherboard socket. I got the magnifier out and inspected the pins very carefully and cannot find any bent pins. I'm stumped. I can get the system to boot if I hold pressure off the water block or the tower cooler, but if I don't it will not post and the CPU led stays lit red on my motherboard.
  12. Ok. I’m lost. It will boot without the block on the CPU. But as soon as I install it will usually boot the first time but never again on restart. Is my AIO out of spec? Because honestly it feels like there’s less tension than the tower cooler had on install.
  13. Ah! Sorry, misunderstood ya there. Will try that later today.
  14. Yes I did, yes I already removed the cooler to check for damage and reseated the CPU.
  15. I don't believe so. I checked the mounting and didn't go ham on tightening things down when I installed.
  16. Hi all. I'm up against a noggin-scratcher here. I just replaced my Deepcool tower cooler with an EVGA CLC 280 AIO and had an odd issue on first boot. Mobo showed a CPU error LED on boot, won't start up video or let me get into BIOS. Odd, rebooted a couple of times and it resolved. Thought that was kinda out of sorts, but went along no issues. Installed Windows updates last night, reboot, same issue. Except this time it won't boot back into windows at all. I get power, red LED on CPU LED on my motherboard and no video. I tried swapping video cards to make sure I wasn't having an issue there. I tried using just one stick of ram in 4 different positions(both sticks separately). I'm baffled as to what would've happened to cause this from a cooler change out. I know that my thermals were a lot better afterwards, so I don't think I killed the CPU. The motherboard is a MSI B450 Tomahawk non-Max, so I had updated the bios previously when I upgraded from my 2600 to this CPU. Any ideas on where to go from here? I'm out in the boonies and have limited access to used components, otherwise I'd just go pick up a used 1st or 2nd gen CPU and throw it in to test, make sure nothing happened to the bios update or something funky like that. My 2600 went into a system i build for my sister and she's a few hours away, so I don't have it to throw back in and test that way. Another(probably stupid) question, if I pull the battery, or jumper the CMOS to clear it, will that clear the bios update I had put on the board previously??? I haven't done that yet, but was considering it. Just didn't know if it would essentially brick my mobo until I could get another CPU to boot with it and reinstall a new bios.
  17. I'm running a B450 Tomahawk(non-max) with bios update and a 3600. I was able to over clock pretty well on my 2600, but the 3600 isn't taking to it as well. Could be worse luck in the silicon lottery, could be the board is about cashed in terms of performance, but the Tomahawk is supposed to be one of the better B450 boards out there in terms of VRMs and features so you might look there. I'm planning on a B550 when they drop and either picking up a 3700X cheaper(they're $275 at Newegg right now), or keeping the 3600 and going ham when the 4th gen drops.
  18. If you budget is unlimited I'd say wait for Ryzen 4 or just upgrade to 10th gen Intel. There's not much point in limping along something in the 8000 series of Intel stuff if you're wanting to upgrade to the most modern kit out there. If you had to upgrade now(just my opinion), I'd get a X570/B550 board and put a 3600 in it for the moment until the new chips drop if you're really wanting to go Ryzen 4th gen. All your kit will be compatible with 4th gen and even now you'll double your CPU thread count and get an unlocked chip. Or go even further and get a 3700X and really turn up the heat if your funds truly are unlimited. Newegg has them on sale right now for $275.
  19. I ran a GTX 1070 with my 2600 with no issues. This 580 for $169 might be a pretty good fit.
  20. I'm currently running a Fractal Meshify C with a MSI Tomahawk B450 and Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super. I switched over from a tower cooler to an EVGA CLC 280 and things are pretty tight with the AIO and GPU. I like the airflow and looks of the Meshify C, but I just wish it were about 10% more interior space??? I haven't really seen any issues with the setup. Running the two 140s in a pull config and 3 Noctua 120s exhaust(2 top, 1 rear). My idle temps dropped from 40C to 28C and under load I haven't got above 58C. No overclock on my 3600 as of current. Honestly, I didn't see any improvement on a 4.2GHz all core clock under air vs running PBO. It may not even be an issue to run it as is currently, but I'm kinda limited on desk space at the moment and don't really want to upsize my case. Should I be worried about it? Pics to follow. Edit for grammar.
  21. Has anyone run DDR4 3600 on a Tomahawk B450 board? I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 with 3000 memory currently. I had upgraded my Ryzen 2600 to the 3600 after a bios update and I'm wanting to upgrade to DDR4 3600 and get the most out of it, but I don't know if the board will run the memory at full speed. Anyone tried this??? I believe the non-Max board is only rated to DDR4 3200 is why I'm asking.
  22. Can you see anything printed on the PCB? Might indicate what the light is for. Could just be a power indicator.
  23. Just in case anyone was looking, the 3600 is on sale for $179 at Newegg. I got an email on it today and picked one up to replace my 2600. Link Full disclosure, sometimes Newegg required you be subscribed to their sales emails to get the prices listed, but I don't find them too bothersome.
  24. I'm currently sitting on my annual bonus funds from this year and have about $500 of it I'd like to slot into upgrades for my gaming rig. I'm currently running a Ryzen 2600 @4.1Ghz, air cooled with 16GB of DDR4-3000(CL16), ASUS ROG Strix 1070, MSI Tomahawk B450(Have bios update for Ryzen 3000, done by me, not the new Max with 3000 support already). I'm run my games at 1080p on a 144hz monitor. All of this is in a Fractal Meshify C, 750W Full Modular 80+ Bronze PSU, with 4 Noctua case fans(2 intake, 2 exhaust) and a Deepcook Gamaxx 400 with 2 Noctua fans(push/pull) Question is, would I be better of with a Ryzen 3600/3700/3800 and faster RAM???? Or upgrade the video card to a 5700XT??? Maybe stretch a bit and find a 2070 Super???? Or am I ok for now and wait another generation then upgrade??? If I did the last option, might look into an AIO and get onto watercooling my CPU. Just looking for the best way to stretch my dollars.
