  1. My computer decided to take a dive off the deep end and i use it for work and gaming so i need to get something.
  2. Should i go pick up a ryzen 1700x, crosshair vi hero and the case for 220?
  3. So a couple days ago me and my dad built a PC. After I left he started having issues with it but he's not tech savvy at all so he came "to the website that I'm always staring at" and looked through all the forum posts about graphics card issues...(well I should say he got there eventually) Needless to say the wealth of knowledge here helped him diagnose the issues (not seated properly and bad driver installation) and saved him a trip from Best Buy...again. So yeah... Long story short I'm just saying thanks for the help... Even if it was indirectly.
  4. So i finally finished selling/recycling my old media pc and I decided to keep the case. The thing is what should i do for parts to get me going. I managed to pick up an Asus Z170-A mobo for 72 bucks. What would you guys think the parts should be for around 6-700 bucks?
  5. Pretty much. The foxcon mobo was a 915 series mobo. It had two sticks of corsair platinum 512mb ram clocked at 400 mhz. Dont remember the cpu but i had the 9600gt in there with a wopping 512mbs of mem for that.
  6. So my media pc crapped out on me finally and I thought I would show it to you...along with some of the parts I've had over the years. I honestly don't even remember the specs of it anymore. But either way...enjoy
  7. So my iPhone took a dump on me a while ago and I just didn't want to replace it with another smartphone so I went with a cheap flip phone for 15 bucks off of amazon. But now I've got the itch for a smartphone again so I need your guys and gals help. What should I get...should I get one of those or something entirely different. Budget: $450 (american) Uses: Use my phone for YouTube and movie watching more than my computer. Gaming: I use my computer for that...duh Choices: Axon 7, Oneplus 3, or something similar to them. (also never getting another iPhone again...I don't know why i went swapped from android to apple in the first place.)
  8. Found my receipt and guess what they gave me for it...$0. Oh well I took it there to make sure it didn't just get thrown in a random landfill somewhere. At least I know that most of it has been dealt with properly. So yeah people...tear the copper out of its protective covering and take it apart...cause you should actually get something for it then.
  9. Tearing out the copper is a great idea...wish I would have thought of that when I took mine down there. They gave me 20 something bucks for everything on my end...but I also had other scrap metal and a few bags of aluminum cans. If I can find my receipt I'll tell you what they gave me for my computer.
  10. Depends if there is a place around you that will accept it as payable scrap...but even then a lot of places don't pay for that little of a bit or if they do it won't be a substantial amount. So all I can say on that is find out if you local recycling centers accept computer components regularly or if there are certain times they only do. I know my only does during the spring and the first part of the fall.
  11. Yeah...its time to scrap it and get a new comp. You can find a crap ton of budget builds online from people like austin evans and jaystwocents if you need some insperation. (if you don't already watch them)
  12. ahhhh...damn that is freaking old and props to keeping it running for that long anyway.
