The reason is i run the LG C2 at 125% scaling, so that gives the text enough pixels to to be blurry. However a 1440p screen scaled at 125% would be roughly the same at 1080p at 100% and as as programmer that vertical space is important to me, and 1080p it just too little there.

No i do not have issues with this screen. However it is too big at 42" and i would like some more horizontal screen space. So i want 2 monitors. or a ultra wide

I'm currently in a bit of a monitor conundrum and could use your advice. I recently purchased a Samsung G9 49" OLED monitor, but unfortunately had to return it due to text clarity issues that were affecting my programming work. I've since placed an order for a Samsung G9 NEO 57" monitor, but I'm still on the lookout for something that truly fits my needs. Here's what I'm ideally looking for: a glossy 4K non-OLED monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate. My plan is to set up a dual-screen workspace. The glossy screen aesthetic is something I really enjoy, and I'm trying to find a more traditional 16:9 4k screen that would allow me to cancel my NEO order and purchase two of these ideal monitors instead. My previous searches mostly brought up OLED screens (which I want to avoid due to text clarity) or 60Hz monitors (which don't quite meet my gaming needs). I'm hoping that someone here might know of a monitor that fits this specific set of criteria. Any recommendations or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have done a little more research and it seems lg-48gq900-b has been release a Display version of the C2. @StahlmannIt would not be my primary monitor. I have a Samsung CRG9 that i use at work, so this screen would only be used for gaming and creative programming so i don't think burn in would be much of a problem.

I am in the market for a new monitor and i really like the idea of something the size of the AORUS FO48U or the LG C1. However they are 1+ years old now, and i think i caught in a recent video that there are better options now. Is AORUS FO48U and LG C1 still the best options? How is the LG C1 with HDMI 2.1? I have only ever used display port and when i have tried the HDMI port i have always had issues with blurry images. My main usage is 50% programming and 50% gaming, so it is important that text is displayed clearly.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I rally think that going with some older hardware would be the correct thing to do. I have been looking a bit on ebay, but i am having a hard time finding anything that is less then 10 years old, and that seems a little order then would be a good idea. i should look at roughly 3-5 years old right? I have decided to create a homelab. Mostly because i find that i spend roughly $200 a month on cloud hosting that could easily be hosted at home. But also so i have something to play with :) My current home server is a 6 year old desktop with an Intel I5 with 2 CPU's, not really something to write home about. The only thing this is server is doing is running Plex Server and NZBget which it is doing fine. I want to build a new server that can take run the following: Plex Server NAS (I am planning about 8 disks in raid 0+1) Home Assistance Postgres server MongoDB Few frontend applications Few backend applications The load is not going to be too crazy, my 3900X in my desktop computer would be able to handle it. But I am planning to run each in a VM so I need some CPU cores to go around. I really want to go with a solution that can be rack mounted, to keep everything orderly. I have spend quite some time looking at rack mounted server, and have just gotten more confused then anything else. My budget is roughly 3k for the server it self. With the cost of server hardware, such as 16 core Epyc costing ~1500 (Epyc 7351), but a 16 core Ryzen costing ~750 (Ryzen 9 3950X). I would prefer to go with server hardware, but it seems that just build a Ryzen 9 3950X desktop in rack mountable case would be the best option, or am i missing something here?

Over the last couple of years both my wife and i have been extremely annoyed by speak, music and effects levels in movies and tv shows. Where you have to turn up the volume so much to even be able to hear what they say and then when the action starts i wake the neighbors. Current i have a Vizio sound bar, and i was thinking that upgrading to an actual sound system with good speakers would help, thinking they save something that can normalize the sound levels a bit. But before i go out and invest in this, would this even help, do modern AV receivers such as AVR-X8500H even have a feature like this?

I have to run a cable to a barn that is roughly 400 feet from my house, i understand that this is too long for normal Ethernet cables, so i need to run fiber-optics instead. The barn is only going to be there for another year or so, and it will only contain my gym where i have a TV i want to stream Netflix/Hulu on, so it dose not need to super durable. I though i bought the right things, but when i got it i found out that the connectors on the cable dose not match the ones on the converter i bought. Ok thank you, i have always had good experience with Samsung hard drives. Have 2 SATA SSD running is Raid 0, and they are still pulling along after 5 years of 8+ hours a day.
