  1. was there a recent Windows update that didn't allow for Bluetooth to be seen under BIOS it is enabled and for two or three days I had to plug in my keyboard, I have the z590 pg velocita for my MB , now today it works
  2. i just find it intresting that i know the show The Unit is a bit old by today standards but figured streaming would be better quality than DVD's
  3. i was getting into ripping blu-rays but at 25gb - 50gb for 1080p file folder size is a bit much for me to handle granted i increased my storage but already 7.4tb on my main storage out of 12tb on 3x4tb raid storage and yes i do have two more backups, but my movies and shows libary is almost 6tb mostly DVD copies that i can handle at 4-8gb per DVD and to lazy to figure out blu-ray software even thou i have an active cyberlink key
  4. almost pin point scene but i feel the ripped dvd on the right is better picture quality than the hulu version figured the hulu would be in better detail , never got around to apps on my pc already to much corn i mean bloatware
  5. I mean just to me a power cable is completely different than a power brick it's kind of like the power brick for your phone because you still need a USB cable to transfer the power
  6. To me a power cable is basically the same type of cable that you plug into your PSU or an extension cord I kept having to say power brick so they would make the connection
  7. Power supply to me is the same thing as power brick, had tech support not even now what a Power supply is from my ISP, kept referring as power cable and im like "no those are different things" and she was like " like for your phone and technically yes a power brick for your phone is like PSU and your USB cable is what the power travels on, im just WOWed on now a person regardless of gender be in a tech support position and not know what a PSU is or Power Supply Unit just PSU is faster to type, id figured a tech support would know more terminology on tech stuff that going thru their software for troubleshooting
  8. have one copy on my Main gaming PC 3x4tb NVME soon gonna add an 2x2tb NVME for Steam, the NAS has a copy and a 10tb Cold Copy, a UPS would be needed as it would i hope have built in surge protection
  9. So in a NAS where speed may not be an issue DRAM is a nice have than a must have
  10. ahh, i mean its not like i will be constantly writing to them constantly, i might keep the 2.5 drive mechanical as the 5tb option is still cheap per drive from Seagate and with data recovery if needed and the NVME i found Teamgroup Gen3x4 4tb w/ Dram for less than 180 if on sale
  11. always thought you needed Dram SSDs for security reasons, i just want to add more pools to have extra copies of my data and plan to to purchase an redundant ATX PSU but those are pricey, if the Cache is handled by trunas then i dont think i need to worry about dram for ssd's unless i can get a good deal on them, OS - Trunas CPU - G5420T Ram - 4x4gb ddr4 2133mhz
  12. i will see if that works plugging all four drives in
  13. thats what i hope at least right now im just playing around with NAS one day i will do things right
  14. i have a gigabyte z390 ud that supports 8x4x4 does that mean the whole electrical 16x is split to 8x4x4 i want to plug in a Quad NVMe PCIe Adapter but will it show all four drives or just 3 OR the MB has two extra 4x pcie slots i assume those go thru the PCH
  15. yep the 5tb 2.5in HDD are about $150 and an SAMSUNG 870 EVO 4TB 2.5 is about $225, i was planing next year to create two more pools, an extra sata pool and an NVME pool granted i dont use the nas that much but i was planing to go Samsung 870 Evo for the Dram cache and Teamgroup 4tb NVME gen 3 as the product i got before also has a dram cache and is about the same price as the 5tb HDD
  16. what is better for long term storage for an extra copy of my data, already have a true nas with a pool of 4x10tb in ZFS2 i think so only 20tb of usable hard drive space i wanted to make a new pool of either 4x4tb sata SSD or NVME, or 4x5tbHDD the nas im using is always turned on
  17. I think it's figured out but I don't see any shorts I now that it's a small PCB not as complex like a Z590 motherboard cleaned up all the extra solder got it warm and tapped it off, seem that you need to ensure that you A) start a new game to restart the RTC or B) a mod with a DS system or something to use physically reset the RTC if you plan to keep the save date but , got it to work finally but a couple dates ago for that battery message when I thought I fixed it , took it apart checked the voltage 2.9 from a fresh 3.2v now the message is got when I took it apart and it displays the correct time still
  18. This is the third time i keep replacing the battery, i actually replaced the dead battery boot the game the dry message is gone took out game and rinse and repeat to ensure the message was gone then within the hour it comes back
  19. that stuff is not ment for pc parts its grease, it stinks and the smell will linger, petroleum jelly is more suitable that carmex but wanted to verify on the carmex issue
  20. no pump out???? there is a sticker covering the fan bearing or something so have the fan upside down and gravity does the rest
  21. i have 4 NVME drives populating the 3 onboard NVME and an adapter for the Boot drive as i wanted the 3x4tb NVME not being on an adapter as idk why one drive died but got it RMA'd, just something i noticed with the 6900xt when i poked around in Wattman, i think the bandwidth for the 6900xt isjust above at 16gbps
  22. i might have to go into bios once my backup is completed but GPU is running at Gen4x8 which i understand to be Gen 3x16 speeds anyways so I'm unlikely so soo any performance loss, seems like my MOBO splits the PCIE lans and i need to change it to PCH if possible but will the 6900xt see any gains from Gen4x16
  23. that's what i assumed that you leave the carmex in the car it liquefies very fast, so when the fan is spinning it heats up the carmex and gets it all in there, if i had straight jelly that would be better only one so far the fan makes the standard jet noise and not vibrates as much i mean i have a small can of multi purpose grease but that stuff is nasty to work with and stinks
  24. its like the question can i use toothpaste on for thermal paste, and carmex is alot cheaper than getting a thing of bearing grease 5-8 USD versus a dab of carmex that costs pennies
