  1. Ho boy, thank you all for the comments and suggestions, I'll give it a good read, I appreciate the options offered anywhere from 2k to limit 4k. To answer a few questions: Less chonky I meant by smaller or if possible lighter, because the CM MasterCase Maker 5t is really heavy even without parts inside. The first gen Threadripper was an odd pick I agree, but well, that's in the past, and as I said I have no idea what combination works best for video rendering. Thank you again
  2. Budget (including currency): max. 4000 EUR inc. VAT Country: Slovakia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Heya, So here I am again with another request, this time for my dad. His current PC build is reaching its age and he decided to upgrade, but he wants to go either for a laptop or PC, I am very unfamiliar with this area (rendering) so I have no idea what to recommend, I am able to build the PC (the literal part) but not to configure it. I think PC would be more value for money? Or perhaps an upgrade of his current specs would be better? (if anything is still worth keeping): CPU: AMD Threadripper 1920X CPU Cooler: BeQuiet Dark Rock PRO GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080Ti PSU: Corsair RM850i MB: ASUS Prime X399-A RAM: Corsair Vengeance Black LPX 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 Case: Cooler Master MasterCase Maker 5t Maybe a less chonky case would be good too, Thank you in advance
  3. Aha so it's Quadro but generation Ada, ok I had no idea thanks. Anyways, I'm actually leaning towards the ZBook, the parameters are up to what I'd need, especially RAM, thanks for the suggestions
  4. This looks good, though looks chunkier than the 77xx series. Is it still better to stick to Intel rather than to AMD? The first one uses RTX 4090, the second RTX 4000 Ada, honestly never heard of Ada, I'm used to work with Quadro, guess it's time for some small research.
  5. Budget (including currency): up to 5000 EUR Country: Slovakia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CATIA V5, Siemens NX, DS Solidworks, etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Min. 64GB Ram Min. 8 core processor Min. 8GB GPU for CAD Min. 16" display Must support docking Heya, so I'm currently searching for a new laptop for my new work. At my current work we have DELLs Precision 7760 / 7770. I was thinking to go with 7780, my new boss has asked me to choose my own. But I was also thinking for AMD workstations however, I couldn't find many, I think Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 2. The budget as mentioned above is up to 5k excluding VAT. Primary focus is CAD, using mostly CATIA V5, perhaps other as mentioned. I know for large scale purchases companies may individualize the workstations as our DELLs have 128GB of RAM (and I haven't seen this much in stores) but this won't be my case since it will be individually bought. Must be a laptop because I will be traveling and using it on sites for design, but at office it will be connected via a docking station to a 44.5" monitor and other peripherals. Plan to purchase is this month. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.
  6. found the issue, it's ROG Armoury, I found it completely by accident, apparently something's got wrong with Profile 1 and it bugged out, switching to profile 2 fixed the issue... weird, thanks for the tips though, I appreciate it
  7. I have tried that, but it doesn't affect this, but I too think this is more of a software issue because as I said when I was turning off my PC last night it was all fine. By holding any button it multiplies itself by huge amount in a short moment. I know this will look silly but just typing letter a for 1 second results this: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa It feels like any button gets multiplied instantly and typed super fast
  8. Hi everyone, When I started my computer today my keyboard (asus rog claymore) started to behave weirdly, if I decide to type regularly then the keyboard produces multiple strokes, like this if I type like this you can see it produces more spaaaaces than it should and if I d daaare to press a keeeyy for more than aa miliisseecccond it will repeeeeeeat the stroke 1000xx If I want to type normally, I have to micro-press one key at a time, from last shut down I haven't changed anything on my PC. Has anyone had something similar before? Thanks
  9. Hi, so about 3 days ago I purchased these speakers, and at first they worked, but the provided software Sound Blaster Connect kept saying that unable to detect speakers, so then I found some advice to uninstall everything, drivers, apps etc. and reinstall it, I did so and since then Windows doesn't detect them, nor the SB Connect. As in if I click on the sound icon to chose sound source, the Kratos is not available, I've tried to reinstall it multiple times and even tried to unplug USB and power and replicate new install but still nothing, the speakers do show on device manager but it has an ! mark on it, saying that there are no drivers and when I try to download automatically it just says that driver is found but "This operation requires an interactive window station (Code 28)" Anyone can help me? Thanks
  10. Hi, So it came to the time for my father's new PC, his budget is around 1450€ priced in Slovakia. He won't need a monitor (gave him my QHD 27" for now) and he also won't need a case since I have a spare one, so only things he will need are: CPU, MoBo, Cooling, M.2 prefably, maybe an SSD, RAM, PSU, no peripherals. As the title says, it should be oriented on QHD/4K Video editing / rendering. I was thinking I could give him my components: Ryzen 7 1700, GTX 1080Ti, EVGA SuperNova 750P, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x16GB 3000MHz, Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero but I'm not sure about the performance and price ratio, if the components are worth 1450€ and if they're sufficient enough to render QHD/4K at a decent speed, thanks for any replies
  11. do you think that the devs will be able to "update" their games with the new tech? to support the RTX series? or only the new games will have that?
  12. I do intend to wait for real benchmarks, and I'm currently playing WoW, but I'm waiting for Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, maaaaybe Battlefield V, and what may come in the future
  13. welcome to Slovakia, where import fees doubles the price of a product
  14. I wanted RGB fans and at the time I bought them they looked the best
  15. well the cheapest 2080 Ti I can get is Inno3D GeForce RTX 2080Ti TWIN X2 for 1267€ or the most expensive EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC ULTRA GAMING for 1439€ though I was looking at these two: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC GAMING - 1399€ ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX 2080Ti O11GB - 1390€
