  1. SnowWing CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 GPU: GTX 750 Ti RAM: 2x4GB DDR3
  2. Love to get the Spetrum H6L. My Naga has been acting up, and I'm not sure how well (or if) it can be repaired. (plus I'd get to win something from you guys :D)
  3. I don't have an SSD right now, and being that I'm a college freshman, don't have money for PC upgrades. It would really amazing to be able to get one of these puppies!
  4. I'm going to start off by saying I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask for tips on a laptop (I'm not even sure this is the place to asking for laptop tips at all), but when I was building my PC I got some much needed help from the people here, so this seemed the best place to ask (and yes, I also have a desktop that I built) My current laptop is an old 2008 white plastic Macbook, that while it has worked well enough over these past 8 years, it is getting to a point where it just can't do much of anything. Luckily I was able to build my PC that I use more prevalently, or else I was worried I was going to kill it just by playing League on low settings. I was planning on using money earned working this break to buy some part upgrades for my PC (that aren't needed, I just wanted to), until I cam across this in a Newegg email ad:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834315131 And while I know this laptop isn't going to be breaking benchmarks (it is only listed at $500 after all), but it does seem to offer good specs for the price, most notably, the GPU and monitor, and it seems that it will run what games I have (I think my most intensive is Tera) and function well as a college/personal laptop Now to the overall question of this post: is this a good laptop (for what I need)? And/or does anyone have any suggestions on one that is better with similar or better specs for around the same price? (and I mean $500 or less)

    Monitor help

Which of these monitors seems the better one? The first one has a slightly higher refresh rate (which from Linus's videos I understand is good), but other than that, they don't seem to have many differences. The second one has a HDMI port, something I really would prefer, as I plan on possibly hooking up a console to the monitor as well, and if I can have my PC (which I am going to build) and a gaming console at the same time, it would save some hassle of plugging and unplugging cables and adaptors, which I am willing to pay just $10 more for. 7. The second one does some pretty nice for the price (and the same manufacturer as the MB I have picked out. I probably should have mentioned it in the first post, but currently I'm going for is an i3 core processor, so would that second one still be compatible?
  8. I need some help on picking a GPU for a new PC I'm working on building. This is my first PC, so I don't have a bunch of info on what is the best, although I have tried to do as much research on my own as possible. This is the one I have picked out currently, but I'm wondering if there are better options for close to the same price (or if this one is not very good to begin with): http://www.microcenter.com/product/403002/GeForce_GTX_660_Twin_Frozr_III_Overclocked_2048MB_GDDR5_PCIe_30_x16_Video_Card Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. So is it not possible to run a GPU off of an i3 processor? I added one down below from making my build on PCPartsPicker (I also kept the same motherboard as it is highly rated from what I've found, and I am going for including a GPU as part of the build now so I want to make sure the MB is high quality): PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FZ9crH Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FZ9crH/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i3-4170 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($99.99) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($89.99 @ Micro Center) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($57.99) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5"; 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($153.59) Case: Corsair 730T Black ATX Full Tower Case ($53.99) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.99) Total: $655.52 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-05-05 15:41 EDT-0400 The prices on this do not include tax, as a lot of the prices I had to enter manually due to PCPartsPicker not matching up with the prices I have found on Microcenter's website (which is where I plan on buying the parts as I am close by one of their stores)
  10. What motherboard would you recommend? I'm not too tech savvy in this area, so I don't really have much ability at making sure the parts are best for the money. Also an i5 CPU is one of my possible options if money permits
  11. Hi all! (My first post on here) I am looking into assembling my own PC for moderate gaming (League of Legends, C&C games, those things), and from my own research, I have come up with these parts. Some things I may buy if I have more money at the time (such as a dedicated GPU and SSD. I don't really have a need for a GPU with the games I have in mind though), but I may get them down the road if necessary or if wanted. Parts CPU: Intel Core i3-4170 3.7 GHz LGA 1150 Boxed Processor Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 LGA 1150 ATX Intel Motherboard PSU: Corsair CS650M CS Series 650 Watt Semi Modular ATX Power Supply HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA III 6Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive ST3100005N1A1AS RAM:Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules) Case: Corsair Graphite Series 730T Full-Tower ATX Case Any info on whether or not these parts work together or are not a very good fit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
