Got the 980ti amp extreme.. Its simply awesome not great in looks but a performance beast.

Very fat.. How will i sli them on x99 deluxe and 5820k (28 lane) cpu

Pro version? Or student will work?

I have a gaming rig 16gb ddr4 2x980 ti zotac amp extreme X99 deluxe Kingston ssd Wd hdd Corsair h100i Purpose is sole gaming only.

The cards have not yet arrived..

i talked to the asus representative and he said yes it will work fine in 1st and 3rd slot. ;/

is there any other option??

but the card wont fit in slot 4...any other way i can configure the pcie slots 1 and 3 for x16-x8 respectively through bios pcie settings? or is it default hardware?

but the card only supports pcie 3.0 express

so i can run sli setup on 1st and 3rd lane..right ..?

the manual states that the 3rd slot is pcie 2.0 x16 when a 28 lane cpu is used

i have ordered 2 of these but the problem is i have asus x99 deluxe and i have to connect them in 1st and 4th slot which is shown in manual but i cant in 4th because its 2.5 slots thick and it exceeds the 5th slot disturbing the other( pled usb and hdd led pwr reset ) connectors.. can i connect them in first and 3rd slots?? (the manual states pcie 2.0 x16 for the 3rd slot when 28 lane cpu is inserted).. help!

i have ordered 2 zotac 980ti amp! extreme edition and they are 5 cm thick and occupy 3 slots..i have a asus x99 deluxe motherboard and the manual say i have to plug the graphic card in 1st and 4th slot for x16/x8 connection but if i plug the second card in 4th slot it dosent fit because of the usb and power connecters below the last slot so how can i connect it in 1st and 3rd slot????
