  1. could use a usb hub on the board to plug in devices and a usb extension cord to get it to reach the pc
  2. for as much as they cost the lack of any option to switch mouse and keyboard around really sucks.i like the idea and would use one but right hand only renders them useless to me
  3. i want it cause hard drives are like crack to me. i can never get enough of them. i need this one because i need to upgrade a laptop for my mom soon even i fix her craptop load speeds dont make me wanna pull my hair out
  4. ok so just tested the front audio ports on my desktop and the mic works fine. super clear and loud. only issue now is that with the way my pc is sitting the cord isnt long enough. im guessing i should just buy a longer cord. any suggestions or is any cord good enough.
  5. ya ive gone into the sound options and made sure it was default already. when you say there are two places for the headphones and mic do you mean 2 on the backside or are you talking about the audio jacks on the front.
  6. so i just got a new headset just before Christmas. the headphones seem to work fine and i have no issues there but the mic is super quiet even with the audio levels boosted to max. im trying to find a way to fix the issue. the headset is a plantronics rig headset that i bought at best buy. here is the specs page for it(http://www.bestbuy.com/site/plantronics-rig-505-lava-over-the-ear-gaming-headset-black-orange/4315500.p?id=1219743049871&skuId=4315500). i have the headphones plugged into the audio ports in the back on the io plate. im not sure what is a good way to fix the issue, maybe a usb analog to digital converter, or sound card, or write off that mic and get a better one. please help
  7. the Feenix Aria Headset looks really good and sounds like it has good quality parts. something about the wood on the ear cups looks nice to
  8. ok cool as far as i can tell sata 2 speeds should be fast enough for what im trying to do.
  9. would that work with say this chassis. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SE3016-SGI-RACKABLE-OMNISTOR-16-BAY-3-5-SAS-SATA-SSD-STORAGE-JBOD-SAS-EXPANDER-/121562008552?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c4da90be8. its basically the same price and has 3 times more bays. plus i can rack mount it with my server blades when i get the room to properly set them up. sorry for all the questions.
  10. So im setting up server at home for web hosting and as a media center of sorts. my issue ive run into is that i converted an older dell optiplex into the server. internally it has for sata ports but only enough space in the case to fit 2 drives. at the moment one slot is being taken by the OS(windows server 2003). i want to add more storage externally but im not sure what the best way to go about that is. san nas raid controller esata something else? what im looking for cheap as possible preferably hot swap-able but not required fast enough for 10 people to stream video thru a web browser any help is greatly appreciated.
