  1. I'm building a new NAS/Plex server with 3 3TB SAS drives. I'm using SAS because its cheaper and I already had a blade that had a SAS interface. I have a HP Z220 workstation and the LSI 9265-8i RAID card, but when I try to boot up it doesn't open the LSI RAID BIOS, and no matter what I change in the HP BIOS it doesn't recognize the RAID card in the boot menu, and runs the normal boot sequence. I have tested the entire setup on my Ryzen 5 2600 system and my i5-2400 system and it works flawlessly with both of those, it recognizes the RAID card and initializes the SAS drives. Am I missing something dumb in the BIOS, or does it need an update? I have also gotten the HP Z220 workstation to boot to windows off of a SATA SSD plugged into the motherboard so its working, I just think that I have some sort of configuration wrong. I also don't see why the RAID card would be incompatible with the Z220 motherboard. Does anyone have any suggestions on why its not being recognized? Thank you for any help you can give! Specs for each system: Z220 - CPU: Xeon E3-1225 V2 3.2Ghz RAM: 8GB DDR3 i5 - CPU: i5-2400 Motherboard: ECS Z77H2-83 version 1.2 RAM 6GB DDR3 Ryzen - CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI RAM: 16GB DDR4
  2. So I got a brand new s8+ from T-Mobile today and when I started setting it up and getting it ready I noticed that when I press with the Bixby button or the volume down button it does both functions (so volume down and launches the Bixby app) has anyone come across this before? Is there any way to fix it? Or should i just go back to T-Mobile to get a different phone?
  3. Basically just cutting out a section of the top panel and taking some old sheet metal and extending it up basically just a rectangle box of metal on top. I guess I may be able to leave the sides of that box open and that should give at least some air.
  4. I have a msi gtx 770 gaming edition with the twin frozer cooler on it and I'm putting it into a 3u server case for a out of the way gamestream system. I noticed the the card is way to tall for the case but I can easily mod it so it'll fit but my worry is with cooling. The case I have (I really don't know what it's called or brand or model) doesn't have basically any room for fans so I'm relying on the massive amount of vents in the case and the fans on the GPU and CPU. Would the GPU overheat because the mod I'm thinking of just has the area over the GPU 1u higher.
  5. that's what I was thinking as well. just wondering could a bad ribbon cable do it?
  6. so I got this laptop to fix and the keyboard isnt working and the screen is giving me weird things like on some of the pixels of it its flickering a red dot/pixel. a nothing I have noticed is that its running super slow. does anyone know what could be causing these issues? I have checked the ribbon cables on it and they are all fine. I thought that it was just the key board that was broken I found that this isn't a usual problem with screens. so could there be a issue with the bios or something like that? the pic is a pic of what the screen is doing. thanks for any help I have no clue what could be happening.

  13. i know that this cpu is a bit old at this point (and i dont like it) but i have a client that wants this cpu. i have a m5a99x evo r2.0 motherboard thiat isnt working with it (it runs only when the cpu is underclocked to 4.6). question 1) Is it a bad borad or does it just die with this cpu? 2) i know that amd says to use a 1000W psu but im on a really tight budget for this rig so would a 750w psu work? or how low of a wattage can you possibly use? AMD: why the heck did you make this cpu??? just make a differnt cpu socket for your enthusiast grade cpu's so we dont have to worry about power delivery crap. GO Intel!!
  14. oh forgot to say that it is the tri-x version
