  1. The fans exhaust the heat from the radiator though. x)
  2. Thanks. I didn't want to give up the fantastic cooling performance of the vardar fans.
  3. Where could I get something like that? Because that's what I'm thinking it is. All the fans are running at below 1000 RPMS for sure.
  4. Hey there guys! I just built a beautiful white themed build with the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe. I decided to remove the giant fan in the front of the case and add two 140mm fans instead for more separate cooling to my hardrive and my graphics card. I also added a NZXT Kraken X61 but replaced the fans that came with it with two 140mm EK vardar fans for the best possible cooling. I get fantastic temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees celsius on idle! I basically ignored using CAM and am using my Asus motherboard's great fan xpert utility for the radiator and case fans. The only problem is, well the system is somewhat loud at idle. Especially when compared to my old computer with Noctua NFF12s. The fans I bought are the 140mm Gp Fractal design fans--you know, the ones that are white. They cool the case nicely and look good too. I personally think there are two reasons why the computer is loud to me: one, it is literally right next to me on my desk because I want to look at it. Two, well the vardar fans are louder than pretty much any other fan in the system which is disappointing because Jay from Jayztwocents actually praised the fans for their quietness. Now they are mounted on top, sandwiched between some mesh and the actual case itself instead of being on the bottom of the radiator. So I am assuming that the vibrations are carrying through the case. This is apparent because well.... I feel vibrations while playing graphically intensive games because my mousepad is actually right next to the computer. Luckily the vibrations aren't violent, and can be easily ignored. In game, the fans for my case are actually not that loud at all, my graphics card takes that prize. It's mostly when I am trying to write papers or browse the web where I get annoyed by the noise. Any tips? Foam padding? fan replacements? Rubber mounts? Perhaps a screw is missing? I did have to go through a crazy amount of trouble unscrewing many parts of the case just to replace that front fan. Perhaps I missed reinstalling a screw? Note I am using an aftermarket glass panel for this case so I would not be able to go super crazy on foam padding. I also plan on adding this light kit I have lying around to the build as well so yeah.
  5. Another weird thing is that when the monitor is off, the GPU is able to keep its' fans off.... The fan speeds only fluctuate when the monitor is on and idle.
  6. Hmmmmm I am at a loss then. My CPU is definitely not the issue as it is running pretty cool at around 30 degrees on the hottest core and the rest running at 26, 27, and 28 degrees..........
  7. My motherboard BIOS is somewhat unstable. Could it possibly be that?
  8. What's really weird to me is that I am able to control the fans, but creating a custom fan curve where the fans stay completely off is out of the question because when I do that, the temperature rises and it ends up having the same problem. The card has the latest v bios and is completely new. I did change some settings in Nvidia control panel; I enabled triple buffering, FXAA, and ambient occlusion. Could this be the issue?
  9. Wow this is weird. The fans ramp up from 0 to 230, 0 to 439, 0 to 1000. This is weird man. This the third card from Zotac to do this. The fan tachometer looks like a little jaggy set of unstable heart rhythms.
  10. I am logging through it right now.
  11. It goes from 0 to 1. Although it mostly stays on zero. It looks pretty flat.
  12. Okay so the fans on my Zotac 980 Ti amp extreme card keep going up and down while idle. The card was working fine before with the fans not even turning on at idle but now they turn off and on constantly. They pulse if you will. The card is also running at 1000 something mhz idle. My monitor is running at 144 hz which I do know is known to cause high clock speeds. Still does not explain the fans though. I have a screenshot of the gpu fan usage but it is too large to upload.
  13. I personally like the design of the headphones despite looking dorky when you actually wear them. I like the smell of wood so wearing them would be a treat to me. x)
  14. Japanese wood headphones by the way, seems like bragging rights.
  15. These look interesting! I'm wondering how they will all work. I might try them myself even if I don't win.
  16. One day single GPUS will be able to run that resolution at 144 Hz. And perhaps, single GPUS will be able to run 4K at that refresh rate as well. ;-;
  17. It's not completely unplayable. I am surviving on Intel HD 530 graphics at 60 HZ at 1440p until I get my graphics card RMA. The integrated graphics on skylake CPUS are actually not bad at all. (Just wish the motherboards didn't have such unstable BIOS) I can at least play games like Kingdom, Valkyria Chronicles, and games on my DS emulator with no issues whatsoever with a stock cooler. (NZXT Kraken is being replaced. I wish people would ship things better. I'm looking at you Newegg.)
  18. Eh I had a darker wallpaper before so it must of hidden them. I felt like an idiot for a moment. There has to be something connecting the bezel to the screen. *facepalm*
  19. Oh okay cool. How do I make them less noticeable?
  20. Am I crazy? I swear they weren't there before, but perhaps they were? Is this normal I am just now noticing this. I am using the Acer XB270HU.
  21. Eh I already removed the card. I'm still talking to Customer support. They replied like twice. -.- Now I'm waiting for their response again. Galax's product registration is broken by the way.
  22. is part of the white pci finger supposed to show when it is seated?
  23. Were the fans revving up and down too? I've had this issue twice with three graphics cards and I definitely know it's not a motherboard issue because these were tested with several of them.
