The FX-6300 is over a little bit, but with the 6 core, it may give an advantage in the future over the i3, though i3 now seems to be the most sensible, judging by core performance.
I wouldn't need any after market cooling products (at least I think, as I will not be overclocking)
Games I will be aiming for are WarThunder, LOL, The Division (out soon), City: Skyline, Skyrim (old, but hey), Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor, Bioshock Infinite.
I will be running 1080p, but Ultra setting for the more demanding titles not really required. Would just like a decent playable experience, without playdo and staircases as textures and objects....
Scrutinise it as much as you like, I will not be offended, just dont scrutinise my wallet.

P.S. please keep in mind that parts are around 15% more expensive here in the UK compared to the US
