  1. so would it be that you pay $2 when you check your email after an hour?
  2. whoa, don't write off your computer yet. first plug in your monitor into the gpu in your computer (without the usb module attached) and reinstall the graphics driver. Also remove the drivers of the usb device. it could be that windows tries to use the usb device as the primary monitor. (this would result in extremely low framerates) if this solves the issue you'll need to get a different adapter so you can hook up the second monitor to your gpu
  3. i have 3 of them and a friend of mine has 3 as well. we both really like them. on one of the 3 there is a tiny bit of backlight bleed but on everything but a black screen it's unnoticable
  4. The 775 socket can be modded to support 771 cpus. It requires you to remove the notches in the socket and to get a sticker to swap 2 pins on the cpu. this can be a nice mod because there are many 771 xeon cpus with high clock speeds for a far lower price than the c2q version of the same chip.
  5. it should support the core 2 quads. Why not look into the socket 771 mod? 8gb ram will work as well. i have had to use my old xeon e5450(basically the c2q q9650) (in a gigabyte p45 combo) with 8gb of ddr3 ram with my 980ti and the performance wasn't that bad.
  6. not sure if you have done the upgrade already but dell uses different types of motherboards in the inspiron 530. one with the G33m02 board and one with the G33m03 board. only the 03 supports core 2 quad cpus so check that first
  7. I have a triple 1440p setup with a 980ti and it is not powerful enough to get high settings and acceptable framerates. 2 1070's sli are the minimum i'd reccomend. but 2 1080's would be better in that case. maybe wait for the 1080ti (if it comes) to have almost equal performance to the 2 1070's (if the performance is close to the new titan xp like it was in the past with the titan x and the 980ti) or if you have cash to blow you could go with a single titan xp
  8. so it's basically like ambilight for vr?
  9. if its just to get all files to one disk to the other you could use macrium reflect to clone the disk. it just copies block for block to the new drive and not file for file like windows itself
  10. meanwhile, the card draws 150w from the pcie slot just kidding, just a reference to the other rx480 news (pls dont hate me)
  11. whatsapp, it's used by everyone i know. but it's not that common in some countries
  12. I have a weakness for surround setups, love my own one. So i'd say go for the surround setup
  13. i'd sugegst a hole saw and a fan grill to clean things up, when you do this mask of the window with painters tape so you don't scratch it.
  14. Just saw 44gb of uneradable files on my 2gb usb flash drive

  15. It would be so funny if the rumours about the iphone 7 are false, and the iphone 7 continues to have the 3.5mm jack
  16. I really like my rig, but it dowsn't make a lot of sense my motherboard costs more than my cpu (x99-e ws and a 5820k) my memory costs almost the same as my cpu (32gb dominator platinums) for all the extra money i could have bought a second 980ti, but i just couldn't resist
  17. true, if op is willing to wait for a bit it can be a valid choice. (not sure if he has a preference for nvidia though)
  18. the 480 is not for sale yet. and there are no real world benchmarks out yet. not to hate on AMD but i'd take everything thay say now with a grain of salt. just like nvidia's 50% performance improvement with the 1000 series.
  19. yes, I'm quite sure of that (looking at the past 5 years and cpu developement, the 2500k is still relevant) EDIT: the i5 and 970 together are around the same price as the i7 and the 960, so i'd say go for the i5 and 970 because you will see the biggest improvement in gaming, while not losing too much performance in video editing tasks
  20. is the video editing just for hobby purposes? because in that case the i5 would do fine and will free up some budget for a more powerful GPU. also maybe let he ssd go for some time and save up for a 240gb down the line
  21. thanks for the suggestions, I like the simplicity of both programs although their functionality around video dvds seem very limited
  22. Hello all. A friend has asked me to help him burn a video dvd on windows 10. I thought this would be an easy task but i found out that windows 10 has no built in burning software (apart from the media player burning method but that's not supported on all dvd players) Can anyone reccommend me good dvd burning software, because after some googling i found out that most burning sofware looks kinda fake and like adware. I don't think my friend would mind if it's a paid alternative, as long as it works well and does not contain adware.
  23. You can set up pxe boot with clonezilla. http://clonezilla.org/livepxe.php i've used it in the past and it works great this is the guide i used
