  1. As the title says, can this motherboard run with only one stick of ram.
  2. Hey All, As the title says, I am about to buy my brother a new pc for the end of summer. I was wondering if this build is good for around 500-600$. Mind you if you think you can get the same performance for a few dollars less, that would be great since I am covering a bunch of it. Also keep in mind that he has his mind set on that case so I can't get rid of that as well as the RAM. Here is the link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8MQB3C Thanks!
  3. Update #1 Soon after getting it all together, I took it back apart and painted the GTX 970 White. If anyone is thinking of doing this to their MSI GTX 970, MSG or reply and I can help you out.
  4. Thanks for the tips. I am thinking of grabbing another 970 (or selling the first and getting a 980ti) in the future. Luckily, and unluckily for me my parents won't let me play most AAA titles as they are mostly violent, so until I can grab one of those, I should be pretty good.
  5. Hey All, My brother is hoping to build a pc soon and he is on a fairly tight budget since he is only 13 and has no way of getting any income. In order to lower the price of his PC, I am trying to find him a blue case that is cheap. Any suggestions? Thanks
  6. Hey Guys, I was wondering how I could achieve the same affect in my custom built pc, as the digital storm bolt 3 does with its graphics card. You can see the image below. I want to try to mount my graphics card in so that the fans point towards the windowed side panel on an nzxt h440, right around where the ssd's mount. Thanks,
  7. Could you have damaged the screen itself? How deep is the scratch?
  8. Nothing?! Anyone have any ideas? Its not my computer because I just got a new one.
  9. Oh my god I didn't even notice that Here is what it is supposed to look like: http://i.imgur.com/xhvdNCK.jpg
  10. Kinda, that monitor is one of the old ones that I just brought to my basement to make sure it worked before I brought it up to my desk so I wouldn't have to work on it up there. Here is a picture of my full setup, sorry for the mess. The monitors are 2 23 inch monitors from HP, and I am ordering a third for surround gaming! Thanks
  11. Hey Everyone, I was just seeing if any of you guys knew how to fix a problem that has persisted over the past month or so. Every so often, google chrome will show an error that says DNS lookup has failed, no internet. I know that there is in fact internet because other people in my family are also running off the same router and are still getting a connection. Also, windows 8 will give me an error that says that my internet connection is limited. The only way I can solve this is by either rebooting, or waiting over an hour for the internet to come back. I also checked the IP configuration in command prompt and there is no difference between when the problem is occuring and when it isn't. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
  12. Hey Everyone, For a while I have been into PC gaming, though my system could barely keep a constant 60 fps in games like minecraft even on the lowest settings. I decided that it was time for a change so here are the parts that I have chosen for this build. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Micro Center) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($26.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($99.99 @ Newegg) Storage: OCZ ARC 100 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($80.00 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($47.99 @ Best Buy) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card ($329.99 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA GS 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($64.99 @ NCIX US) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro OEM (64-bit) ($131.65 @ OutletPC) Total: $1201.56 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-06-27 16:50 EDT-0400 I went for a black and white color scheme because I enjoyed the classic yet industrial look of the black next to the white. Finally all the parts arrived (accept for the GPU and RAM, as I got those later that night for my birthday ) The case is apart, The CPU is in the Motherboard, now I just need to find out how to attach this CPU Fan. She Boots up! GPU is put in the next day after the longest day of school I have ever had. The Glorious before and after photos Many of you may have noticed that the GPU is red and black when I said that I was going for an all monotone color scheme. This will soon be fixed as I am spray painting the red part tonight so follow to see that. Thanks Guys
  13. It turns out that I have installed a 32-bit OS by accident. How can I upgrade that to 64-Bit?
  14. Hey Everyone, I just finished building my new computer and when I open task manager it says that 12.5 of my 16gb of ram are hardware reserved. My Mobo is a Z97 SLI Krait Edition Mobo from MSI and my ram is the 16gb kit of Kingston HyperX Fury Ram clocked at 1866mhz How can I unreserve some of this memory so I can use more than 3.5 gb? Thanks
  15. Although it is possible to get the red and black separate right? They are not permanently fused together.
  16. Hey Everyone, Could someone please point me towards an MSI gtx 970 disassembly guide? I am about to paint the red shroud and need to know how to take it off. Thanks!
  17. Red, it goes best with your PC without mods, and mods will add more money as well as more room for error.
  18. If I have netflix and a smart Tv, what good is the home theater PC?
  19. Hey Everyone, I was wondering what you think should be the accent color for a black and white build parts below. 20. Hey Everyone, This sunday I am building a new computer. This left me with the problem of what to do with my old computer. Although it is prebuilt, it is not really useless and is easily running my two monitors and getting right around 30 fps. What do you guys recommend I do with this PC? I was thinking I could turn it into a rendering machine for my animations that I create so what do you think of that idea. Thanks
  21. Hey everyone, So I'm getting a new computer on sunday and I was wondering what the best set of monitors for gaming would be. In general I play racing games so keep that in mind. At the moment, I have 2 24 inch 1080p monitors, and I'm trying to decide if I should just get one more, or get an ultrawide display. Please tell me what you thing, whether I should get 1 more 24 inch monitor or 1 ultrawide display. Make sure to take price into consideration, as the 24 inch would only be around $150-200. Also please include a link if you suggest an ultrawide display. Thanks Edit: Also make sure to keep in mind these 24 inch monitors have a fairly small bezel at around 1 cm per monitor
  22. You need to post the perma-link at the top, this link doesn't work
  23. Hey, I got a few questions before I order everything for my PC this weekend 1st, what are your white led recommendations 2nd, would Dupli-Color work over plasti-dip, I can't find white plastidip on amazon unless it is an 6 pack for $40. Thanks,
