Minecraft server on intel nuc ?
JamesDwho replied to tarbax's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
A big requirement for any minecraft server particularly one with mods is RAM, the i3-3217U should be powerful enough for 10 players, another important factor is making sure you have enough bandwidth, this is quite a useful site http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/ -
Your toughts on Gigabyte Motherboards
JamesDwho replied to Yun4xGaming's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have built 8 Systems using Gigabyte Motherboards including the X58A-UD7 which is my current motherboard, haven't had any issues with any of them, all still working perfectly. -
You can buy PWM 4 Pin Y Splitter cables (2 CPU 4 Pin Fan Connectors) and they work perfectly fine with most fans

No, 2GB of VRAM isn't sufficient for 3 screens at max settings, it might be okay on the lowest settings (game dependent).

If you can try doing a Disk Check

[HELP] How to overclock my i5 2500k? :/
JamesDwho replied to Blacer's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Well for starters make sure you're not running the stock Intel 1155 cooler, a good affordable aftermarket cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212+. If you read your motherboard manual it will have all the information about what each setting does for the CPU, I suggest looking through it and familiarizing yourself before you start. Something I would do in your position is looking up i5 2500K overclock settings for your specific motherboard model. Not all motherboards are made equal, usually you can get a good idea of what settings you should be running at based on other people's experiences with your specific motherboard. For starters I would recommend going up the the Max Turbo Frequency of the 2500K (3.7Ghz) once you get that stable go from there. Of course do this all at your own risk -
to my knowledge SLI only needs a matching GPU, not matching VRAM Size (could be wrong), since one card only has 2GB it will probably limit the other card

Choosing a keyboard, I am undecided, Blackwidow or K70?
JamesDwho replied to StareX's topic in Peripherals
I have a regular Razer BlackWidow Expert (non-2013) and after about a year (bought it July 2011) one of the key supports for the spacebar broke off and now my spacebar just sort of wobbles like a seesaw on one side, same thing happened to the left Shift key a few months later, keyboard was out of warranty when it happened. -
you could download 'Crystal Disk Info' and see if the drive is still being fully detected by your motherboard

A few months ago I saw a huntsman spider about 10-15cm wide crawling across my wall, captured him in a bowl and put him outside
-
in the urban areas the 'wildlife" isnt really that much of a problem, occasionally you might see a dangerous spider but most of the time its just huntsman and daddy longlegs spiders (aka cellar spiders).

Does it happen only in game under load or generally on the desktop?
-
maybe try cleaning up your registry with CCleaner

I usually decided to upgrade when my current video card can't run most modern games on about a medium setting

I agree, the NBN needs to be left alone, Hopefully the LNP smarten up and realise that Fibre to the Home is the future, it makes a big difference

Yes you can, PCI-E 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCI-E 2.0 slots, you just get a slight reduction in bandwidth

Who Has Not Built There Computer For Gaming?
JamesDwho replied to joelthezombie15's topic in General Discussion
I originally built my PC with gaming in mind, but now I tend to spend more time doing 3D work, such as 2D/3D asset creation etc. -
Thunderbolt needs integrated graphics to operate ie. Socket 1155 Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPU's, LGA 2011 CPU's don't have integrated graphics.
