  1. Baited breath. Here's to hoping the right moves are made.
  2. Employers don't usual call all hands meetings for employees quitting. This confirms there was an issue/complaint. The validity of said complaint is a separate issue. I certainly hope the independent review they are doing doesn't come up squeaky clean, that would be incredibly telling. No one is perfect, and if a third party says you are, it's rehearsed. The results of the review and actions taken as a result will determine whether or not I consume any more ltt content. Full stop. If it comes out that she was in fact pushed so hard and treated so terrible that she self harmed to get a day off, and heads don't roll (as in termination of employment, no literally.) There will be no coming back from it. I was on board with the video released this morning. I already knew Madison left under less than ideal circumstances, but that happens. When I read her commentary, I immediately thought back to all the YouTube comments about her back in the rog rig reboot, and another former employee who's name slips my mind that the community was incredibly thirsty for. I wish for Madison's sake that none of the backlash she is afraid of comes to pass, regardless of what is uncovered. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE in this thread who thinks this is attention seeking, I emplore you, speak to a woman in your life. Mother, sister, friend, significant other. Ask them how these allegations make them feel. How they would feel if that happened to them. What they would do. I guarantee you, the first response is flight, not fight.
  3. See why they don't here: It all boils down to not learning from trust be bro. You give someone the benefit of the doubt enough times and they don't make a change enough times and eventually, you don't do that anymore. I don't blame Steve one bit for his handling. It would have been polite to reach out in advance, but I understand why he didn't.
  4. I still remember when they moved in to the warehouse how proud he was of their inventory system. How in the world it got past that, I don't know.
  5. It wasn't malice, that would be absolutely brain dead level stupid. It was however complete and utter ineptitude and lack of accountability that allowed it to happen.
  6. Right? So who is accountable? Linus/whoever was directly in contact with billet? Definitely. First failure in the chain. Logistics? Above Should have told logistics to send it back then. Promotions/PR for auctioning it? Well if logistics knew, then why did they allow P/PR to auction it? If they didn't know, how do you account for non company property? Do you at all? Who told you it was missing? It's a good question. Did you scroll through your old emails and go "oh shit I have that one of a kind prototype to send back!" Then start asking questions? Or did someone else go "hey, trying to send back that billet labs prototype and I've got some bad news.." how did you handle that? There's a completely lack of accountability and so many holes in the responsibility and communication between different departments as evidenced by this happening in the first place. I guarantee that Linus himself wasn't responsible for sending this back, he allowed it to snowball by expecting it to be taken care of by someone else. If it was his responsibility, he deserves every bit of shade getting thrown his way. And if I'm right, he still deserves it, but he can also still make it better moving forward.
  7. This is objectively wrong. The GN video was yesterday. The admission of the fuck up was the 10th or 11th (can't remember, I've seen both thrown around.) While the actual fuck up happened on the 30th of July at LTX. The fuck up was made possible by several other secondary fuck ups. Namely, not sending back the God damn prototype when requested. It takes 2 minutes to print a FedEx label with a business account. Should have just dealt with it immediately instead of letting it snowball by expecting someone else to take care of it, several times.
  8. That's a pretty rough standard though. I understand the sentiment, don't get me wrong, but the average individual doesn't use a forum, or discord etc to engage in things they aren't actively passionate about until they have a reason to. I'm not talking your favorite hobby, anime, game etc, I'm talking products, brands etc. Most people just happily consume until something affects them personally. Whether it be materially, or emotionally. This is that moment for a lot of them. Those voices are valid. And while I hope they contribute useful discourse and not just troll blindly (because that contributes less than nothing.) They're definitely welcome imo.
  9. And that invalidates their voice? I had 4 posts on here before this. I made the choice to come here and take part in legitimate discourse, not engage with the trolls on BOTH sides. To imply because someone has just joined that their opinion doesn't count is laughable. The trolls on both sides can politely and succinctly disappear. They aren't contributing anything. What should be happening is useful conversation between both sides so Linus/LTT/LMG truly sees how big an issue this is, regardless of their own opinion on the matter, the communities thoughts at large are pretty clear at this point I think.
  10. Way too hot of a take. Last night I was all over here talking about what I think should happen etc etc and Linus looking inward is definitely prime on the list but damn, this is aggressive. You ever feel pride in something? You ever feel protective of something or someone? That's I'm certain how Linus feels every day. About LTT/LMG, his family, his friends, and co-workers. It's not a bad thing that he feels this way, until he compromised their and his credibility and the only justification we can see is cold hard cash. There's the no one should buy this excuse about the waterblock, and to that I think Linus should hand in his enthusiast card and give up all his cool projects he's got going, like his remote gaming computers, his pool cooled server rack etc. He did that for the same reason billet made that block, to be the best, cost be damned. He should recognize that, because he lives that life daily. It's not for everyone, but it is for someone. He should have reframed his view on the product as an incredibly niche product, not just a waterblock. Ironically, his out of touch reaction on this one was in the opposite direction, and more in line with average consumer response. It's not narcissism unless it continues. Until then, it's pride, a (REALLY) bad take, and poor judgement/bad leadership. He can fix that. If he crosses the line in to narcissism? Well, that's game over.
  11. In BC, they can fire you for it however. It's not a protected action. The fact that it's in the handbook is questionable.
  12. Jesus this is a bad take and I'm with Steve but Holy wow this is truly delusional. The actual discourse has been fairly reasonable on both sides here. New copypasta????
  13. You probably didn't contribute anything constructive. To this forums credit, I've found that actual reasonable discourse has been engaged fairly well from all sides.
  14. It's not a fragile ego, it's pride. It's earned pride. What needs to happen is that the criticism should be taken for what it is, necessary and impersonal. Ltt as a group should be humble about it.
