  1. Felt the need to create a new post, cause I'm extremely confused/annoyed right now, part 1 is here if you want to read it: So...TL;DR: PC ran fine for almost a year One day, 30-40 fps in Rocket League for some reason DeepCool Captain 240 EX RGB leaked MSI GTX 1080 ARMOR 8G OC semi-dead, 445pts in 1080p Furmark benchmark RMA request directly to DeepCool, they will ship an AIO replacement and agreed for 650CAD to compensate for GPU Shipped the GPU to their US RMA Departement 650CAD rejected by RMA department, now 70% of invoice: 336USD (USD because I got it from Massdrop (480 USD excluding shipping and import customs) Why? Depreciation according to Deepcool Hassled to try and get more Gets this: I took the liberty to log the back and forths with Deepcool in a PDF, feel free to read it. A few modifications were made for the privacy of both parties (just left the name of Deepcool staff). Deepcool RMA Archive.pdf But what the actual [advertiser friendly content] should I do now? Keep hassling? Just take the money? Or maybe even contact MSI so that they can talk to Deepcool? Is it true that "manufacturers carry out depreciation of invoice according to one in a thousand per day"?! I'm in a serious pickle here...
  2. UPDATE 05 DEC: Got a reply It's one of those "my friend" salesperson ? This looks like a very deep rabbit hole
  3. TL;DR: PC ran fine for almost a year One day, 30-40 fps in Rocket League for some reason DeepCool Captain 240 EX RGB leaked (Yes, this infamous leaking cooler) MSI GTX 1080 ARMOR 8G OC semi-dead, 445pts in 1080p Furmark benchmark (I can see the lack of ARMOR, lol) RMA request directly to DeepCool, they will ship an AIO replacement and agreed for 650CAD to compensate for GPU (Got the 1080 from Massdrop, which was 500USD (+ Destiny 2 lol)) Shipped the GPU to their US RMA Departement 650CAD rejected, now 70% of invoice: 336USD Message/Reason: Now stuck between two pills: Take the money—the story ends, or hassle for more and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Story Time now: P.S. Uploaded a few pics of the damage. UPDATE 05 DEC: Got a reply It's one of those "my friend" salesperson ? This looks like a very deep rabbit hole.
  4. I would also like suggestions for a USB-C (non-Thunderbolt) hub/dock for my Ryzen build. My case doesn't have a dedicated SD card reader and I would like to have one, as well as a few extra USB-A on my desk since the front (or top) panel only has 2 USB port (and I don't feel like doing the reach around ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) everytime I want to plug something temporary). (I don't need a video out though since Ryzen has no integrated graphics, excluding the G series, and it would probably save a little $ on the hub/dock)
  5. Yeah, I'm still not sure if I will get the WD Black since I could use the 750GB HDD from my M5802 and my daily external WD My Passport 1TB, but after thinking about it, I think it'll be useful for my archived works. I never asked myself that I wanted more space for my internal storages since I judged that they were enough...
  6. Hello LTT community! I'm a 3D Animation & CGI student about to start his final year (if nothing goes wrong). The final year will involve the creation of a 30sec to 2min rendered movie (Using Renderman, Mental Ray or Unreal Engine 4, etc...) I'll be using programs such as Autodesk Maya, Blender and the Adobe product lineup (Mainly Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition) Even though I have access to pretty powerful school 3D computers, I want to get a new build in order to work home at 3 am with a cup of coffee beside me... So tl;dr, I plan to build a 3D centric productivity desktop (gaming too since I still game, hue). Here's a PCPartPicker to give an idea of my planned build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/XqwxCy *Sidenote: Purchased items are the optional stuff I'm considering* My aimed budget is around $2k CAD for the computer parts (CPU, Cooler, Mobo, RAM, PSU, Storage, GPU and case), but I can be a little liberal. The spoiler below is an opinion/argument of my own for each component (then again, I'm a noob...so maybe I should just shut my mouth, but whatever). So here are (possibly) some questions that I'm expecting from the pros: So yeah, I guess that's it. Feel free to ask me anything and I'm open to any suggestions! Thank you for your time! P.S.: Here, have an Ene GIF. OwO ============================================== UPDATE - REVISION 1.0 (12:20 AM - 2017-04-06) Thank you all for the feedbacks! Here's an updated parts list from your opinions: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/YtxnFd In summary: In the end, we saved $15.07! (Woot Woo!) So yeah, that's the first revision. Again, feedbacks would be nice. Thanks! P.S.: Another Ene GIF , lul.
