I have a load of old PC's which I take apart and mess around with regularly, I have my current PC which I built myself called Cyndaquil, I built it on a small budget but now I'm working I'm upgrading it :D.

  1. I'll try the voltage protection mode and I would've thought that a 650watt should be fine for the CPU?
  2. As an update the PC runs with a i5 4690 in it is this an issue with the power supply? If so what would be your recommendations?
  3. So my CPU has been upgraded from a 4690 to a 4770 and it didn't have issues but I got a new cooler for it hyper Evo 212 and now I've had BSODs of different kinds and now my PC will turn on, no ports will work nothing will be displayed, then it will shut off after a few seconds, it'll then switch itself on and repeat this process I've tried placing the CPU in the system, taking out the GPU and using onboard graphics, tried with one stick of RAM (both have been taken out) My specs are: 16gb of DDR3 RAM i7 4770 CPU GTX 1070 GPU Gigabyte Z97P-D3 MOBO EVGA 650watt Hex PSU Please help
  4. Okay, sorry for lack of communication, I did the memory stick thing and saw my CPU hitting stupid temps and then the PC dying, so I changed coolers and it seems to be running fine, thanks for the help!
  5. I will try the latter, but it doesn't run long enough for me to get HWMonitor, or even run it
  6. I've double checked and even replaced cables, so I don't think it's a cable issue
  7. I recently upgraded my case to a 570x, and when I rebuilt my entire system, I started to run into issues. I have a clean install of windows on my SSD, and when windows loads, the computer is very slow and cannot run at native resolution 1440x1080 After about 3 minutes of run time, it completely shuts off, as if the power was cut. If I turn it on after that and it only runs for a minute, it doesn't have the chance to boot windows. I am running a i5 4690 for my processor GTX 1070 for GPU EVGA NEX 650 watt PSU 16gb DDR3 Kingston Memory I do have a 960 and another cooler for the 4690 if you need any alternatives. I have changed all of the cables from the power supply as a first precaution. Please help, anything will be appreciated.
  8. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/jVn7TH Well I want water cooling for OC capabilities, the MSI twin Frozr fans are good cooling for the GPU too, had to get a 1070 instead of a 1080. I just prefer the Razer Deathadder Chroma, same with the mouse, the case is a nice clean case that's also inexpensive too. Plus the SSD HDD combo seems to be a logical solution for downloads and boot speeds. The monitor is just a relative run of the mill monitor and the memory is also something I have and like. Plus it also has a black and red colour scheme, gotta keep dem colours in check. Oh and network card because networking!

    Smartwatch

So, I want to buy a smart watch, but, I don't know what would be the best one for me. I'm a college student, who does cadets, works in a supermarket but I also go out a lot, so I think it should be quite durable. I'm using a Moto X play for my phone as a daily driver using the latest version of Android. My price range is also £150 below but, I'm sure I cam wait another paycheck for a more expensive one, if it's worth the wait, so, what ones would you guys recommend?
  12. I was think of going with this http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Supernova-Modular-Power-Supply/dp/B00LMAUZ6G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435673945&sr=8-1&keywords=EVGA+650W Seeing as it gives me more room for dem upgrades.
  13. Mine is slowly dying, it's buttons are becoming unresponsive and it's really jittery, as I need a new PSU, I have no money for a new mouse
  14. I have a budget as large as need be to fix it, and I have tested all the parts and they all ran fine and functioned correctly but the PSU's were small wattage so I wanted a new one.
  15. So this morning I was browsing the internet and my computer literally went bang and sparks came out, now the reason I'm putting this under power supply is because the PSU no longer works so what I'm asking is what happened if anyone knows and what PSU you would recommend in the future for when I get one also I'm British so my currency is £ and my computer specs are here: CPU860K MotherboardF2A58M-HD2 (FM+) RAM8GB GPUNVIDIA GTX 960 PNY EDITION CaseGALAXY 3 CASE Storage1TB HDD STORAGE PSU500W (don't remember the model ) Display(s)Philips 227E4LH CoolingStock Air Cooling (for now) KeyboardRazer Deathstalker MouseZelotes T-80 high precision gaming mouse SoundSkullcandy Operating SystemWindows 7 Ultimate
