  1. All the settings, both on Battery and When plugged in for the options on pressing the power button and closing the lid are set to 'Sleep'. Thanks for the workaround, I'll use it, but still I'd love to find a fix.
  2. Hello everyone, for the last few days I've been experiencing really weird behaviour upon closing my laptop. The device I am using is the HP Envy 13 x360 ag0019nm, the version with the Ryzen 5 2500U. So, ordinarily, upon closing the laptop, it would almost immediately go to sleep which would be noticed as the fans turning off and the power button light would start blinking for as long as it was asleep, so until i opened it again. What has been happening recently is that if I close the laptop, the fans would ramp up really fast and the device would start really heating up. Mind you, I am not doing any heavy duty stuff on this device, so really no reason for the heat and fanspeed. Also, the power button light stays on the whole time (so no blinking) which I would interpret as the device still not being asleep. If I then open the laptop up, there is nothing but a black screen and I am unable to access anything I've been working with. The only thing I can do is hold the power button and wait for it to forcefully turn off. I also discovered that if I leave the laptop in this state with it heating up and fans running fast it will eventually turn itself off, which could be overheating. Once it's turned off, I can then start the device back up normally, but yesterday for example this prompted the Windows Diagnostic tool to do its thing and even ended up saying it is unable to repair the device, but thankfully I was given an option to just start Windows nonetheless and I didn't notice any new problem with the system. If I am using the device and I put it in sleep mode "manually" by clicking the power button once and then closing the laptop, it remains in sleep normally with the fans turning off and the power light blinking. I've tried looking it up online but I just saw articles and forum threads on laptops overheating, which isn't the exact issue I am experiencing.
  3. Hello, I own the HP Envy 13 x360 and I have a question about the screen brightness when the laptop is on battery. Whenever it is plugged in, the screen can become visibly brighter. Now, I've checked the power settings and in the Edit Plan Settings I've set both of the brightnesses on battery and plugged-in to 100%. I've also gone to the Advanced power options and set the display brightness in both modes to 100% and I've disabled adaptive brightness on battery. Does anyone know how I can enable the full brightness of the screen when I'm on battery?
  4. Hello, I am buying a laptop and I've basically narrowed it down to the HP Envy x360 13 or the same Spectre variant. The specifications are as follows: HP Envy x360 13 AMD Ryzen 5 2500u HP Envy x360 13 AMD Ryzen 7 2700u HP Spectre x360 13 i5 8250u All the other specs are the same. While I don't absolutely need the 10 to 11 hour battery life of the Spectre, It could come in handy. I have a desktop PC, so I won't be doing any serious work on the laptop, mostly web browsing, coding homework and studying since most of my reading material is digital. I also really like he looks of the Spectre, not to say the Envy is bad, but still. I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
  5. So, can I plug the GTX 970 into a DVI-D slot?
  6. What about Fractal Integra M 550W, 80+ BRONZE ?
  7. It's actually $825 since taxes arent included in their prices (Atleast our prices are US prices + EU VAT). This PC will cost 933€, 760€ without VAT, so 760€ = $825.
  8. I'll be building a close-to-1000€ PC (Around $825 in the US). The build is completely open to suggestions (but without changing the price too much), these are the specs: MSI GTX 970 GAMING GDDR5 4GB/256bit Intel Core i5-4590 3,3Ghz s1150 Kingston 8GB 1600MHz CL10 DIMM DDR3 (Kit of 2) HyperX Fury Red Series MSI s1150 B85-G43 GAMING Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB LC-Power Pro-925B Midi housing (this is only cause of the 600W included) I have some questions: -Will this PC play games in 1080p for the next 2-3 years at 30fps+? -How bad is it if I use a power supply included with the housing. Ive already done this once and I had no issues, but maybe I got lucky?? -Can I plug the 970 into a DVI-D slot on my screen?
  9. I did what u said, I put it into the 3 pin Header called CHA_FAN1. When I started the PC, the cooler didn't turn on, so I kinda started it manually, then, after 5 minutes, the PC turned off (not from overheating, I think), so i put the stock cooler back on and now it works fine.
  10. The fan header says CPU_FAN1 and I cant find any other header.
  11. Hello fellow forum users. I bought this CPU cooler a couple of months ago but I haven't been using it as it doesn't work properly. It turns off at random times (sometimes doesnt even start with the PC) which causes my CPU to overheat and the PC turns off. It's covered by a 12-month guarantee, but when I tried to get it repaired they said there aren't any problems with it. The CPU I'm using is AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition and the motherboard is ASRock N68-VS3 UCC. I hope some of you can help me out.
