  1. I'm going for the mouse because my current one is awful. Who likes awfulness?
  2. The specific one that I am curious about is the Asus mb168b+. It has 'EZLink' software/driver which says it offloads some graphics to the unit. Not sure how this works.
  3. So I have a desktop with an R7370 but am interested in using a USB display. Obviously this will not connect directly to the GPU but I am curious if it will still use the GPU for most rendering. I play a few games (fairly low end) but am not very picky about performance as long as they are enjoyable. My CPU is the i5-6600k. Thanks!
  4. I am currently using an XLR to 3.5mm audio. I want something external that converts it to USB so as to avoid static. The picture is kind of what I am looking for but want suggestions that are fairly low price and pretty small so it can fit easily on my small desk.
  5. Obviously mine! It is an Audio Technica although I don't quite remember the exact model. It has a belt-clip box that attaches to the mic and has an XLR out.
  6. That is what I am currently using however is causes the problems I described. There is also static.
  7. So I am trying to use a decent lapel mic I have for recording audio. I currently have it plugged into my computer via a 3.5 audio to XLR cable. The sound often becomes faint or glassy and I am not sure how to fix this. I am recording with audacity. I was thinking that a USB to XLR might work but am not sure what the best place to find this is. I would love a small USB sound board but these get expensive and aren't small enough for my desk.
  8. I have a 240GB evo and keep almost all my smaller programs on it. Most things wont take that much longer to load from your blue HDD so mainly things that you frequently launch. Browsers, startup programs, and things like java are a good place to start. As for moving things, go to your user folder and right click on any folders you don't use as much. There should be a tab that allows you to move it to the location. Libraries and a few other folders work great as they will continue to show a sort of 'shortcut' in your user directory but will store data on the other drive. You can tell which ones are on the HDD as the titles will be in blue instead of black.
  9. So I am thinking of using a Rasberry Pi running samba as a cheap NAS solution for my home. The main drawback is that there are only USB 2.0 ports and I want a RAID 1 configuration (2TB). Just curious of there are any external drives that automatically create a redundant array. Also, would it be better to have two separate drives in a software array? I know that a Pi is will not make the best NAS but it should be sufficient for some basic file storage and backup. Thanks for any help or info.
  10. So I have a couple of cameras that have a mini HDMI port. I know that this can be used to show photos that were taken on a TV but I am wonering if it can also stream the current footage directly. Mainly I want to attatch another screen to the camera but it would be nice to possibly plug it into a capture card as well. I just cant figure out and dont want to buy a cable if it wont work. Audio output is not relevant as I use an exernal mic. The two cameras I have specifically are the Canon Powershot 110HS and the Sony DSC-HX9V. Thanks a ton, SC
  11. We have multiple good swords that we use for LARPing and other things but part of the point of this film is to have certain parts animated.
  12. I have been doing basycally the same thing in premier elements but am looking to streamline the process without going frame by frame. I just got Black Magic Fusion (free version) but have now experience. If you can point me to some good 'quick start' tutorials that would be great otherwise I will look around myself. I am attaching on a part that I worked on. I went along every few frames and inserted keyframes. This turned out okay although I could certainly add a few more points to make it better as the sword in the footage sometimes shows (not to mention how terrible it is overall). Any help would be splendid, SC swordshorttest.mpg
  13. Thanks! I didnt realize that some of these were free but it seems like they are. Wish i had known this before I had bought PE13.
